The food amazing , the staff IMPECCABLE. Even had plans to go back and work there myself . The nurses ? Oh lord patient as EVER . This was my first rehab / residential stay, and I truly couldn’t have ended up in a better place. The techs, the clinical team, the nurses, the lunch lady’s, the janitors, every single person played a role, whether it was working one on one with them or just a friendly smile passing through! Also, my sober sisters, the bond that was made was amazing & im thankful to still have a lot of them in my life and a part of my recovery journey today! I would also like to add that the facility itself was absolutely beautiful and the outdoor surroundings were incredible. It truly is such a beautiful serene place! I would 10/10 recommend this facility and its program to anyone struggling with addiction. If you or someone you know is struggling seriously please reach out to the team at Wooded Glen, they will love you until you learn to love yourself. (FULL REVIEW BELOW) The breakdown: Pro's: -Renovated resort on a spacious piece of land that includes a lake patients can fish on, walking trails, a full basketball court, and large open fields for activities -Nearly all direct support staff is in recovery -Food is home-cooked style and every meal includes seconds if wanted -Nicotine products allowed (vapes too) -Guitar, piano, animal therapy (they literally have an Australian Shephard and like 10 chickens to interact with), plant and flower garden patients can contribute to, pickle ball, corn hole. -Large donation room for patients coming with no clothes -Medicaid insurance allowed -Alumni program that includes an app that helps connect all the patients post-discharge Cons (Based on opinion/personal exerience): -My biggest complaint is no PHP/sober living housing being available. I made life-changing relationships with staff and peers in this community/program, and after discharge, couldn't continue them due Wooded Glen not having that level of programming. -Nearly no books/reading material available for patients to read, and the books that are available are random Amish romance novels from the 80's) -Infrequent/inconsistent store runs when patients need Nicotine/personal products -They don't allow family to drop off sealed soda/snacks OTHER THAN fun-sized candy -No outside meetings -No family visit days Thanks 😊 ELLIOTT 1 month ago	6 6

I have also had community services to get treatment faster then VA could provide,they sent me to a Saint surgeon known as Dr Yakkanti U OF L. The pharmacy has been most helpful. Community Services has been very responsive. When you walk down the hallway at Rex VA. Your brothers and sisters always are kind. Everyone acts like they know and want to help you. Totally unbeknownst to me, they sent a care package since I’m pregnant - and it included way more than I ever would have expected. Even prior to being pregnant, the VA system has gone above and beyond in making sure I’m taken care of - more than my active duty military medical care. I couldn’t be more thankful for the wonderful team that’s taken care of me thus far. I honestly can't say a bad word about anyone here. When you're dealing with people like myself you have to have boundaries and rules and consistency, and this place has that they do not change per situation, I can promise from personal experience that each one of the bad reviews on here is from a person still in the addict mindset I don't fault them for that because I was too at the beginning, but we don't like consequences, but I assure you, anything and everything that happens here good or bad is a result of our actions not theirs.
