I travel from Mount Carmel to see my therapist here. I love her and she never makes me feel like a bother. She has helped me in many ways. Sometimes they can't get me in as quickly as theyd like but I know it's because they have an overwhelming influx of patients and not enough therapists to help everyone which is not their fault. They let my son almost die. His oxygen level got down to 80 and never even called and told me. Then I called to talk to him and they knew he wouldn’t be able to talk on the phone and lied to me about his well being then decided to call an ambulance after his oxygen level dropped again to 84!!!!! Yall should be embarrassed at how yall treat children in there, you messed with the wrong one!!! Filing for malpractice lawsuit my son is having more asthma issues now more than ever and yall won’t get away with this!!! Tell Polly don’t call my dang phone no more either!!! Yall make me want to puke!!!
And don’t send me a dumb reply about writing a consumer report I’ve written 2 of them!!! And I take screenshots every time just in case this place magically can’t find them so try something else.
RiverValley Behavioral Health should be held accountable for the actions taken regarding my son. If it was assumed that I would overlook this incident, that assumption was incorrect. This facility is a disappointment and warrants investigation. While not all staff members are incompetent, many are, and numerous individuals in the Owensboro area share this sentiment, expressing concerns that some staff members lack the necessary qualifications to work with children. Allowing a child's oxygen level to drop to 80 without promptly notifying the parent, particularly when I initiated contact to discuss my son's well-being, is unacceptable and warrants termination. I will continue to express my concerns until they are acknowledged, as I am deeply troubled by the potential harm inflicted upon vulnerable children who lack a voice or parental support. The actions of this facility are alarming and distressing.

Terre Haute, IN | Harsha Behavioral Center in Terre Haute, Indiana, is a physician owned psychiatric and addiction center. Inpatient programs are typically designed to be the most intense level of | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Harsha Behavioral Center provided exceptional care for my son during his first-ever inpatient stay, and we are deeply grateful for the support we received.
My son is on the autism spectrum, and Harsha’s child psychiatrist, Dr. Hinshaw, understood his needs from day one. They made thoughtful medication adjustments that genuinely helped him stabilize, and they approached him with patience, structure, and compassion. He told us more than once that Harsha “felt like a healing place,” which meant everything to us as parents.
He participated in daily coping-skills groups, gym time, and arts-and-crafts therapy, all of which helped him express himself and learn healthier ways to manage difficult emotions. The progress he made in just a short time was remarkable.
I also want to highlight the therapist we worked with, Julia, who helped us create a personalized electronics plan to reset expectations at home. Coming from an “all-access, all-the-time” approach to screens, her guidance gave us a clear, practical roadmap we could actually follow, and my son is already practicing what he learned.
Every staff member we interacted with was kind, professional, and truly invested in helping him succeed. We left not only with a more stable and confident child, but with tools and routines that will help us support him long after discharge.
I highly recommend Harsha Behavioral Center for Hoosier families seeking compassionate, autism-informed behavioral health care.

My son is currently receiving care at Harsha, and this facility is an absolute breath of fresh air. For the first time in 11 years, I don't feel dismissed or swept to the side. I feel completely seen and heard. I spoke with the therapist Stacy on Friday, and she took a great deal of time talking with me about her initial thoughts, findings, and concerns. She was knowledgeable, kind, and thorough. I have been impressed by each and every person that I have spoken with. My son is happy. I got to visit him in person today, and he said that while he is excited to come home, he is happy here, on the path to healing. I am confident and hopeful, and so is my son. I am very pleased.

A Transformative Stay at Harsha Behavioral Center!!!
Checking into Harsha Behavioral Center was a pivotal moment in my journey with anxiety and depression. This 5-star inpatient mental health facility redefines care through its exceptional programming and compassionate staff. From day one, I was immersed in a structured, yet flexible schedule tailored to my needs, making it far more than a typical hospital stay.
The programming at Harsha is outstanding, blending evidence-based therapies like CBT and DBT with innovative group sessions and holistic options such as mindfulness and music therapy. Daily one-on-one counseling with skilled therapists helped me unpack deep-rooted issues, while group activities fostered connection and support. The center also offers psychoeducation classes, teaching coping skills that empowered me to manage my mental health long-term. Every session felt purposeful, with progress tracked meticulously to ensure personalized care. Post-discharge, their comprehensive aftercare plan, including virtual follow-ups and resource referrals, ensured a smooth transition.
The heart of Harsha’s excellence lies with its Chief Nursing Officer, Adam. Adam leads from the heart, and he has built a team of highly trained, empathetic nurses who are available around the clock. His leadership shines through in the staff’s attentiveness and innovative care protocols, emphasizing patient dignity. I saw him engaging with patients during rounds, creating a warm, supportive atmosphere that elevates the entire facility.
My week-long stay was transformative, thanks to Harsha’s robust programming and Adam’s leadership. This isn’t just a hospital—it’s a lifeline for those seeking top-tier mental health care. This is definitely the best hospital I have been to, and I cannot imagine that there is anyplace better.

Evansville, IN | In Evansville, Indiana, families can find inpatient mental healthcare for children ages five to 13 at Evansville Psychiatric Children’s Center (EPCC). While they don’t offer addictio | Treatments Payment Options | I cannot say enough good things about this facility. After spending eight months at another center that pales in comparison and reading previous negative Google reviews, I can say I was cautiously optimistic and hesitant about sending my son to EPCC; but I am so grateful that I did. From the very beginning, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of care, communication, and compassion shown by the entire team.
His therapist, Cally Large, was absolutely phenomenal. She consistently communicated with me about his progress and treatment, offered helpful courses to prepare me for his return home, and continued to support us months prior to and after his discharge. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my son’s needs were met, arranging visits not only for me and his siblings but also for both sets of grandparents. My son had nothing but positive things to say about his OTs, Alex his RT, and the residential staff.
They made sure he received full medical and personal care, including doctor and dentist appointments, a vision screening and new glasses, and even haircuts. They planned fun outings, both one-on-one with his therapist to build social skills and in group settings with other patients. The facility also completed thorough psychological testing, which helped clarify and narrow down his previously long list of diagnoses.
After six months at EPCC, my 9-year-old came home a new kid. He now communicates his emotions and goals so effectively, accepts consequences with understanding, and handles challenges with remarkable patience. The explosive anger and hours-long meltdowns we once faced are no longer part of our daily life.
EPCC didn’t just help my son, they helped our entire family heal and grow. I will forever be grateful for the extraordinary care, dedication, and heart this facility poured into his treatment.
