I went in for alcohol treatment, I was VERY bad off and she helped set my moms mind at ease going through this. I unfortunately dont remember my first few days there during detox but today makes 235 days sober and im so grateful to have been placed in her hands. I recently brought my cousin there to detox as well and she was more than happy to answer my call and line everything up to make his process as pain free as possible. I cant thank the staff enough.

I don't have enough words to explain how thankful I am. They were so kind and explained everything. They checked on me often and made.sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I was only here three days and they set me up on outpatient care in lake Charles. I can't believe this place was just an hour down the road. I have my life back and I am so grateful. My son was there for one year 2024-2025 and he completed the programs, classes meetings and then lived at Genesis Sober Living. He would be in jail or dead if it wasn’t for the Sanctuary. I have worked in the substance use disorder and mental health field for many years and when I discovered Sanctuary Louisiana I never knew such a unique place existed in Louisiana. They offer three levels of therapeutic care, the traditional 28 Day Program, a halfway house (which are hard to find in Louisiana) and an IOP program. As another benefit sober living homes are available that are actually supervised with random drug screens. What is even more unique is that they have a highly qualified counseling and medical staff, find jobs for clients in the halfway house program instead of throwing in the world to find their own jobs and provide transportation to and from work. The whole spectrum of services provides a gradual exposure to life's stressors as opposed to 28 days and you are on your own. Long term treatment is what works for those with substance use disorders and those that complete the program have higher than average success rates in regards to sustained recovery. Substance use disorders don't develop overnight and years of addiction requires long term treatment as that is not overcome overnight either. Especially when most people with addictions have a substance use disorder and a mental health disorder, called co-occurring disorders All of the client's psychiatric and physical health needs are met as they provide medication management services with a PNP and an MD. It is a gem in plain sight.

The day after my daughter turned 16 she was admitted at New Beginnings. This is certainly NOT the sweet 16 I had imagined. I had spent the last 9 months trying to figure out what was going on with my daughter. The night before her 16 birthday I located her with friend completely wasted to a dangerous level. She revealed she had a plan to kill herself so I immediately took her to the emergency room. She went to a hospital for a day or two until I could get her enrolled. A good friend was a drug and alcohol professional and recommended New Beginnings. It is hard to leave your child with strangers in another state but what other choice did I have? I knew this was a life or death situation. The staff took good care of her and helped her begin a journey of sobriety. It was not an easy journey for her or our family. The staff remained in close contact with us and tried to help us as a family. Most importantly they saved my daughter. This July she will celebrate her 6th year of sobriety. I could not be more grateful for this staff. Their attention to detail and care of my entire child was incredible. My daughter is alive, sober and thriving as a young adult because of these professionals.

My wife and I are grateful for the program here at The Orchard on the Brazos. Unfortunately, we have had two experiences with the Orchard with two of our adult children. I wrote unfortunately, because no one should have to experience their children battling addiction. We had previous experience at another organization that was fruitless. This was a whole new version.
The professionals at the Orchard care not only for the residents, but also provide forums for the family members as well. It is a welcoming caring environment, where family participation is encouraged, because we all need healing in some respects.
For those who are just about at their wits end, there is hope. Let me also say this is not a miracle place, our kids have work that they need to do. As a Dad, I would encourage you to fully check out the facilities, programs and staff. We have been very blessed with our experiences.

What an incredible, amazing, wonderful, beautiful, awesome place and community this place is! I was searching for a PHP/IOP/Sober living facility for weeks to help me continue on my path of recovery and as soon as I made my first phone call and spoke to Jacob I knew it my heart I had finally found the perfect spot for me. The entire staff was welcoming and helpful and supportive, the group sessions along with my peers helped me fully understand this disease and without them I’m not sure if I would’ve made it. My appreciation and gratitude for this program are through the roof and I would HIGHLY suggest anyone who needs help with addiction and mental health and staying sober to contact this place. They are #1 in my book and again I cannot give them enough thanks and praise for everything they’ve done for me!

I was bullied by another resident for weeks and have video proof.. I went to the Ra’s in the front office and even spoke to she shelter managers about this resident… she even had others attack me verbally and nothing was done.. but today this resident had been rude to my child who is 8yrs old so I started recording for my safety and was told I was being exited… The other reviews are right about the meal portions… some of the workers are really nice including the child care worker Alexis.. she’s very very sweet and good with the kids… the counselor is amazing… but other than that.. try to avoid this shelter and try to get in other shelters if you have a child.. I will not be deleting the videos that I have of this resident.. and her friend that’s also a resident that cussed me out in front of the shelter manager.. in the handbook it states bullying is not permitted but I in fact dealt with even more domestic abuse here and nothing was done…They will also pack you in rooms with other residents and barely have any space to move around in the room..

I had a great experience with them. I had no idea who to turn to when DV happened to me and my daughter. We received counseling & while I was hoping for legal services as well the office is a little disorganized and never heard anything back after following up many times which is why I have 4 stars instead of 5. But if you’re someone in need they do their best to help you.

I have only ever been to one other treatment center. (if you could even call the 1st that) and just by the level of care, commitment, compassion shown, and individual concern shown by each and every one of the members at NOLA DETOX, ALL of whom go above and beyond for every single patient and/or resident that comes into their care. Words alone, just simply cannot describe. If you are just sick of living the way you have been. Or you want to be the person that you know you are capable of being. You owe it to yourself to give yourself the best chance of recovery success you can find and call the people at NOLA DETOX. From the executive director Cedric Royal. The head nurse Ms. Opal. All of the resident nurses, Yoshi, Jovianna, Stephanie, Ariel, Sam, just to name a few. Then there are the techs Jonathan, Danielle, Derrick, Kevin, Ms. Aqua, Cherry, India, Hunter, Adam, Ms. Kendra, and yes, even Patrick.(😁Lol). Jonathan, my counselor has been a godsend in innumerable ways, and is a wonderful person and someone who I call not just a friend. But a brother. And that is a very beautiful thing, indeed...The entirety of it is a one of a kind experience that you receive there that let's you know NOLA DETOX is NOT JUST ANOTHER treatment facility. They are all a FAMILY, and the environment and atmosphere I recommend and suggest highly to anyone looking for treatment to reach out to admissions without hesitation... Residential treatment and their follow-up IOP services are both first class. And they are what I owe my recovery, my health, and my present-day sobriety to. As well as the wellbeing and sobriety of some people whom I love dearly. Including my fiance. and I do not even want to imagine where my life would be right now if I had not have had the courage to take that initial step and actually held my own self accountable for the way my life had become. It was MY actions and MY choices that had led to the unmanageable state of a mess that my life was in. Having tried it my way so many times and each time falling short, I was so close to giving up.
