Star was communicating with my mom to get me brought all the way from Oregon and answered any questions we had. I went in for alcohol treatment, I was VERY bad off and she helped set my moms mind at ease going through this. I unfortunately dont remember my first few days there during detox but today makes 235 days sober and im so grateful to have been placed in her hands. I recently brought my cousin there to detox as well and she was more than happy to answer my call and line everything up to make his process as pain free as possible. I cant thank the staff enough.

I don't have enough words to explain how thankful I am. They were so kind and explained everything. They checked on me often and made.sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I was only here three days and they set me up on outpatient care in lake Charles. I can't believe this place was just an hour down the road. I have my life back and I am so grateful. Thanks to Tammy and Star and all the nurses and doctors.

It is a good rehabilitation center, I feel that I was not as lost as other patients I have seen, in the same way, they helped me.
This place saved my son’s life! SAVED HIS LIFE!
My son was there for one year 2024-2025 and he completed the programs, classes meetings and then lived at Genesis Sober Living. He would be in jail or dead if it wasn’t for the Sanctuary. Chris M and the court judge always worked with my son to make sure he stayed on track. So many others can succeed with this type of program. I wish Texas had something like this. Thank you to anyone that worked with my son. Communities need this support program. Thank you ! Thank you !

I have worked in the substance use disorder and mental health field for many years and when I discovered Sanctuary Louisiana I never knew such a unique place existed in Louisiana. They offer three levels of therapeutic care, the traditional 28 Day Program, a halfway house (which are hard to find in Louisiana) and an IOP program. As another benefit sober living homes are available that are actually supervised with random drug screens. What is even more unique is that they have a highly qualified counseling and medical staff, find jobs for clients in the halfway house program instead of throwing in the world to find their own jobs and provide transportation to and from work. The whole spectrum of services provides a gradual exposure to life's stressors as opposed to 28 days and you are on your own. Long term treatment is what works for those with substance use disorders and those that complete the program have higher than average success rates in regards to sustained recovery. Substance use disorders don't develop overnight and years of addiction requires long term treatment as that is not overcome overnight either. Especially when most people with addictions have a substance use disorder and a mental health disorder, called co-occurring disorders All of the client's psychiatric and physical health needs are met as they provide medication management services with a PNP and an MD. It is a gem in plain sight.

I have gone a couple times and the staff have been great I would recommend this place before anywhere else and I have been to other place. I will be calling to go back next week I battle with anxiety depression and a addiction to fentanyl I am tired I want to get clean and stay clean I'm gonna try again and I pray I can succeed this time.

Best place I ever been to. They made sure I was comfortable, they cared, they got what I needed right away. This place went above and beyond and im forever grateful.
Edgefield first caught my attention because of its location and history but upon arrival I was introduced to the compassionate staff that made me feel at home. The repuposed plantation house is such a charm with beautiful chandeliers, fireplaces, and paintings to gaze at between classes, meals, or in the afternoon. The staff was so caring and involved in my recovery process. They genuinely are concerned for the patients and it shines through all of the employees, from the physicians, techs, and lunch room employees. Being set on a quiet bayou with lots of wildlife to observe and appreciate. I recommend a volleyball game during your stay. The food was amazing and filling, so if you are on a diet I suggest passing on the 2 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches they offer as snack. Thank you for helping me so that I could help others.

Absolutely beautiful grounds and the most supportive, caring, and loving staff. From the moment I walked in at Intake I immediately felt welcomed. Was greeted by staff that also had personaly experienced the recovery journey. Having that in common made it easier for me to be able to start forgiving myself and focusing on my sobriety. The techs were able to guide me , answering all my questions and calming my anxiety. There was plenty of other clients to talk to. We enjoyed fishing, volley ball and basketball. Staff even played with us. My counselor was able to listen, be empathetic but also hold me accountable. Which I needed more than I knew at the time. The atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for my self healing. I can't thank Edgefield Recovery Center enough for giving me the opportunity to get my life back. One I am proud of. I would strongly recommend Edgefield to anyone ready to start their journey. We had nightly AA meetings, small groups, one on one counseling, mediation, yoga, gratitude, family meal's. (BTWThe food is Great!!)Edgefield Recovery Center saved me. The discharge planner was even able and willing to work with me to find me a sober living home in my preferred area to where I was able to get a job, have transportation and begin on a healthy path!! I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to this facility and its staff for their unwavering support and guidance throughout my recovery. The program, staff, and fellow residents have all played a crucial role in my growth, providing me with a strong foundation for my ongoing sobriety. The skills and strategies I learned here have been instrumental in maintaining my sobriety, and I am now residing in a supportive sober living environment where I can continue to learn and grow. During my time at the facility, I received the difficult news of my sister's cancer diagnosis and her subsequent passing on November 4, 2025. However, thanks to the support and tools I received, I have been able to cope with this challenging situation in a healthy, sober, and stable manner. Today, I have come to understand that acceptance is the answer to all my problems. I am confident that I will never have to resort to substance use again. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my experience and encourage others who may be struggling in silence to seek help. I would like to thank everyone who has been a part of my journey; your impact will be felt forever.

Four years ago I entered the doors of pathways broken and afraid when I left out those doors two weeks later I was different, ready to face the world and unafraid I wanna thank the nurse that sat up with me at three in the morning when I asked for the phone to call home ready to leave she encouraged me and told me that the fight was already won! And four years later my whole life has changed thank you guys for saving my life.

This was the first rehab I had ever went to. This was in 2015 or 16 well they were located I think in Lafayette and when I got signed in to stay they were moving like the 3rd day that I was there to sunset location . It was cool to see . The old one looked like a house it was cool . I had came in and almost passed out and the nurses and staff made sure I was ok and saw a doctor and that mentally I was okay . I may not have been at my best but the staff and everyone here was so beyond kind and cared about everyone's sobriety and it was individualized and personal . It was pricey back then I'm not sure about now . I had ended leaving but I never forgot and alot of people will say it's about how people treat you that people remember. It helped me in the sobriety process . They were still kind and wanted me to stay so much but I needed something else . Well because I had went for the time length I stayed I got an AA book and I kept it all these years and today it still helps and has helped heal me. If it wasn't for that place I wouldn't know the AA way.

My grandson is there and I was scared at first I didn't even know what the property looks like or anything but it's pretty much way out in the boondocks seen plenty of corn fields and it's located down a long gravel road I was like oh my God there's not even blacktop roads but we got there and it's like a couple separate buildings and my grandson was so happy he didn't act like he wanted to go home or juvie LOL the staff was very nice it's way more than I expected I had told my grandson that I would like to try to maybe donate some stuff for them to do you know games and stuff like that but he said no mamaw we have plenty of stuff to do I get to choose my chores and I chose to cut grass what she likes because his papa never lets him we're about an hour and a half for longer away from there but it's really nice as we were there they was cooking them po'boys french fries and I'm trying to think something else but he said he's eating very good there and you know they pretty much mentor them and cancel them and they don't see race the one man that works the board is you know the one that told me that and he was so kind to us he seemed like he really cared about my grandson

I just moved to Lake Charles, and needed to transfer my records. Mr.Robert Todd helped me and was the kindest most light hearted VA employee I’ve ever come in contact with. He made sure I was aware of my resources regarding mental health and didn’t turn me away. I’m very thankful for him making this whole process as simple as possible.

People need to be grateful we have a clinic now. Im very thankful we do. They do a good job provide free coffee and really go out of their way to help you. YOU Vets complaining either stop going and go pay for your healthcare somewhere else instead of taking up spots for VETERANs that actually need and appreciate the care the VA is providing. Keep up the great work ignore the bad reviews!
The day after my daughter turned 16 she was admitted at New Beginnings. This is certainly NOT the sweet 16 I had imagined. I had spent the last 9 months trying to figure out what was going on with my daughter. The night before her 16 birthday I located her with friend completely wasted to a dangerous level. She revealed she had a plan to kill herself so I immediately took her to the emergency room. She went to a hospital for a day or two until I could get her enrolled. A good friend was a drug and alcohol professional and recommended New Beginnings. It is hard to leave your child with strangers in another state but what other choice did I have? I knew this was a life or death situation. The staff took good care of her and helped her begin a journey of sobriety. It was not an easy journey for her or our family. The staff remained in close contact with us and tried to help us as a family. Most importantly they saved my daughter. This July she will celebrate her 6th year of sobriety. I could not be more grateful for this staff. Their attention to detail and care of my entire child was incredible. My daughter is alive, sober and thriving as a young adult because of these professionals.

This facility really saved my life. I was in and out of psych hospitals from various drug overdoses and suicide attempts. After I was expelled from my high school, my addiction became extremely worse. after about two months of of extreme use of alcohol and opiates, i had my last drink and shot up for the first time. I went to a hospital with a BAC of .43. My mom found this treatment center when I was detoxing in a mental health facility. I finally agreed to go which was the beginning of my new life. Everyone at the facility got what i was going through. If you’re looking for a place to send your kid who is struggling with substance abuse i highly, highly recommend this place.

I had to be admitted to the psych ward and had the best nurses and techs there. I felt welcomed and they didn’t treat you like little children like most places do. They listened to my needs and got me on the right meds. I would recommend them for your psychiatric needs. I loved it here.

Everyone here is so nice. I am new to the process and the people here really help navigate the processes. The mental health side is super awesome as well.
I’m really looking forward to continuing to come here because even though they may not have it, they definitely set you up with the right people to help you get the care you need. This is what I have seen so far.

Staff was Amazing from the MH Techs to the Nurse and Social Workers very professional and kind also very patient the facility is older and could use a better community area and have better activities but what the facility lacks the staff makes up for it with small activities and conversation Thank yall again

Just released from in-care for anxiety and calming down. Love, love, love the staff! Groups are very helpful, and participating can be be enlightening.
Food had been great on previous visits-not right now, it isn't.
Beware of you have asthma, cleaning product grades are medically necessary with so many people going in and out, and are high in VOCs. Get medical Dr to temporarily double your asthma medication, I forgot and I had a hard time catching my breath.
Not highly structured at all, and wonderful people helping you. A great place to calm down!

A family member of mine has been in and out of behavioral facilities for quite some time. It can be difficult following the progress and watching loved ones struggle.
The staff at Oceans (Ms Jennifer) have been extra supportive and gone out of their way to assist in any way they can.

Was so glad to be able to stay close to home so my family could visit. Rooms were nice. Staff was nice and helpful. Food was not the greatest as I had special dietary needs , so I was allowed to have my own food brought in.

I went there for a stress related breakdown. The staff is second to none!!!! They took real good care of me and actually treated me like a person. I definitely recommend giving this place a chance if you need mental health help.
