I want to thank the Battleboro retreat for helping me many years ago. It's been about twenty years since I was there as a patient. To me they helped me the most out of all others that I got treatment. The stuff is wonderful and I can't thank you enough for saving my life. The name I used when I was there went by Ana Hartford. I use this name for privacy. So if you want to look me up it's Ana Hartford. IV been sober since I left the retreat.saying thank you is not enough to express my true feelings and how much you helped me.

The people here have absolutely horrid grammar. The only good thing about this place was the deck swap card in uno and the weetabix... unfortunately, King Jessica/Julian would limit my eating habits. In all seriousness, when I first got to Brattleboro I was extremely nervous from the reviews I saw online being majorly negative (which then became an ongoing joke between me, my peers, and the staff - hence the beginning). That being said, for me, I found my stay there to be helpful and a good life experience to know that there's always someone who'll be there, even if you don't know them. I had lots of fun and made friends I'm still in contact with today. The staff is wonderful and only wants to help you, but I know this could be very different for other people going in there. So if you're like me, reading reviews as you drive over, just know that the living there can be hard and sometimes the kitchen will forget you ordered a grilled cheese, but you're there to get help and the staff is there to give you help so if you're cooperative, going to groups, and working on improvement - you're undeniably going to get better. Yes, some of the reviews are right and it can be a little scary to watch people be restrained, but you need to focus on yourself there.

The staff were amazing, it was difficult with the forced isolation and strict rules but after a while I realized it was necessary. Forced quiet when I couldn’t quiet myself. Caring and compassionate I needed them and proud to say I’m an Ally (LGBTQIA+) One suggestion PLEASE ! Have everyone sign a release of info to their PCP right off on the day of discharge. Get the process started because it is a long and broken system to navigate and this will shorten it. It’s the patient who suffers from the 30 days plus process and the communication and paperwork that it takes for the two to talk to each other. It’s just one less thing we have to remember or concentrate on while trying to get back into the world again.

When I came to Paramount, I felt I couldn’t trust anyone and had no belief I could be in recovery. This program and their staff helped me get through this. By offering a safe place to work on solid therapy and to better understand myself, I was able to gain confidence in my ability to be in recovery for life! Another highlight is the fact that paramount provides a worry free environment. This allows me to truly focus on my recovery work. I highly recommend this program to anyone who needs help with mental health or Recovery work.

I have so much gratitude for everything paramount has done for me. The day I walk thru the door was the day my life changed forever. From client liaison to case manager, and therapist I really felt understood and cared for which made my recovery journey alot easier. I felt as though I was being given more than treatment. I was given another family and hope. I can now face life's struggles with a sober mindset and strength. It's all owed to the compassionate loving environment paramount has created. Came off 170 mgs of methadone without any major problems. I slept, ate, and was overall content. Nursing and tech staff made the stay what it should be. I’m not really a taker but sometimes a smile from a random staff would get me out of the funk. They reduced my methadone 10mg a day from 170 until 20mg. I thought I would feel awful at 20 but the only problem I had was high blood pressure and sweating. All symptoms I could deal with. It’s detox! You’re not going to like everything about it! Atlanta, Mark, Christine, Joe, JAMIE! No techs or nurses ever made me feel like I was a bother. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get off a substance. Especially methadone, in I feel 1000 times better without that crap in my body. I live in NJ, only one place would take my ins. The rest would only detox from methadone of a 30-40mg dose. Sunrise did not rush me and kept their word I wouldn’t receive surprise bills. They even didn’t bill me for things they should have. Shortly before I went there I was on a ventilator. I am Doing the work but this place helped get me across the line. If you complain here it’s your addiction talking. Has your addiction ever been correct with advice? Great place!
