I’m disappointed by the other reviews I’m seeing. These people WILL work with you as long as you’re patient, and polite. No, it won’t happen overnight, but be patient and you will get everything you need. They are trying their best, and they don’t get paid enough especially the therapists.

Not quite sure why there are so many negative reviews not sure if they are mostly outdated, but I’ve had a wonderful experience with coastal horizons at the burgaw location! My therapist, Leah offers EMDR for trauma. They have telehealth options, as well as in office if you prefer and they got me a medication management referral within a week! Highly recommend

The staff here have been phenomenal. Chad was quickly able to discover the cause of my child’s pain and quickly recovering with amazing progress. Grateful for a facility that cares and is knowledgeable. Thank you for everything!

OUR GROUP MDJ HAS SEEN MEN GO THRU THIS PROGRAM 8 DIFFERENT TIMES. EACH WITH DIFFERENT PROBLEMS TAKEN CARE OF BY SAME LORD. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. NOT ABOUT USING DRUGS OR PHSYCO THERAPY TO HELP, JUST SHOWING GOD' S MERCY AND TEACHING HIS WORD.
I had to go there cause my sober living made me, at first I hated the idea of it an despised it, but over time I came to enjoy the groups they had there, luckily I got a great councilor there, Ben Davis, he forsure made the groups fun an interesting and he knew what he was doing, we made a great connection an relationship, even today I know I can always come to him for anything and speak my mind and he’ll give me the right advice. By the end of the program I didn’t wanna leave. Just give it time, there a caring program a want what’s best for you.

After reading some of the reviews I am blown away. I seen one where a lady claims they make you smoke cigarettes and you will be a chain smoker when you leave. Geez it's mind blowing. I was never forced to smoke at all. This place did nothing but save my life. Ed is a wealth of knowledge, my counselor Ashley is the best ever. Other staff that stood out was Sean, Lily, Crystal and Carmen. I came in addicted to Fentanyl, went through detox then on to PHP. There ofcourse were areas that could use improvement such as food and even bigger issue was we were let to run out of drink and coffee all day long in the rec area outside cafeteria which is all you have access to for the long ass days of classes. That is something else that needs work, you are expected to attend class from 8 am to 4:30 pm 7 days a week. That is way too much and too tiring for us older patients especially us with other health issues. You cannot go to your dorm from 7:30 am till 4:30 pm either. If they can't give a day off for rest then at least 1 early day, like a Sunday get out at noon or 1. All in all I am satisfied, I coined out on November 26, 2025 and I'm still clean. It is what you make of it period.

I love it they changed my life for the better and all the staffs & nurses are Respectful wonderful people I love my counselor Ms.Tiffany She Listen and Let’s Me Know wen I’m inda wrong plus she gives great advice I’ve been clean almost a yr In June I Would recommend this program for anyone tryna get cleaned up I wouldn’t ask for another counselor

Last summer (2024) I arrived in Wilmington broken and bankrupt, not just financially but spiritually as well. Since then, I completed a 6 month rehab/behavior modification program successfully, worked at that rehab as a Peer Mentor, Peer Mentor Supervisor, became certified as a Peer Support Specialist, interned as a Peer Support Specialist at another organization, and now work at that organization as a full-time Peer Support Specialist and Admissions Coordinator. This growth and transformation from utter failure to success was a team effort though and I could not have done it without the help from Helping Hands and my therapist Khristine W. She is intelligent, insightful, kind, and compassionate. Her empathetic ear, sage suggestions, and honest humility has guided me through my recovery journey. In the depths of darkness there is always a hand that reaches down to pull you up into the Light. Helping Hands and Khristine was that hand for me. I AM eternally grateful for her guidance and support. If you think there is nowhere else to go but down, look up and grab hold of that hand. It is there whether you see it or not. Let it gently pull you up from the abyss and into Life. For everyone deserves to "dare to live the life they have imagined" for themselves. I highly recommend A Helping Hand of Wilmington! Everyone is incredibly supportive and Becca and Steph are the best therapists!! I am grateful for spending 3 months in class with Becca, and I am continuing to one-on-one therapy with Steph. Thank you for everything!!
I am a current patient of 17 yrs on the methadone maintenance program at New Hanover Metro. This place is fairly good about not constantly bothering you and making you do all kinds of classes, so it's good for people who work or have busy lives. The counselors & nurses are usually very friendly but rarely stay for very long (Lauren being the exception, great person). My biggest complaint is the high cost, currently $16 per day from $13 per day, this place makes a killing off of our mistakes but I guess you pay to play. From the time I started to now cost has gone from $12-$17 per day. Overall satisfied with the clinic though.
*I had to update the 3 star to a 4, even though cost went up the service here has got better the past few months.

This place has been part to me getting clean. Clinic is efficient, in and out quickly , counselors are amazing and are always willing to listen and not judge. The people here are great and I made the best decision to come here as my stepping stone of getting clean.

Dont like that there is no number to the castle hayne location online. It only brings up hightsville. It used to call right to the castle hayne office to talk to your councelsors not just some main office.

I have been sober for 1.5 years because of JTC. I’ll be completely free from MAT before the end of year and I’m so thankful to my counselor Brittany and the nurses/Dr. use the program don’t abuse it and you can change your life. One day at a time 🫶🏻

Don't listen to the negative reviews about Paige. She is a fantastic practitioner. I've been seeing her since 2019 and she has always been helpful, kind, attentive and truly listened to me. She is not rude by any means. She listens to all my symptoms, side effect issues and any problems im having with meds. I like Paige and enjoy having her as my med provider.

There needs to be more available establishments like Delta; PHP, IOP, counseling, trauma therapy, and prescribers who all work together with/ for you. They work as a team opening the door for more knowledge to assist and guide you.

Great people that really care for their patients. Their help has gotten my life back to a good stable way of living, and I am grateful for all there help and everyone on the ACT team. I cannot thank these people enough for helping me get through my schizophrenia, and help organize my goals.
I had bouts of sobriety off and on for years but it wasn't until I came to CRH where I experienced the TRUE love and grace of Jesus. This program has been a game changer in my life and recovery and I am truly forever grateful. It has become my family. ❤️

I love Amy Howard. I first started seeing her when I was discharged from a psychiatric hospital due to being suicidal. From day one Amy was so patient with me. She always tells me that if I need to see her she will fit me into her schedule. She is aware of my medical conditions, and considers that when she prescribes my medicine. She is very serious about what she prescribes. I thank God for her.
While i attended I would have given 2☆ but as I recovered i realize they likely saved my life.

I absolutely adore my therapist Nicole. From the get go, she made me feel comfortable and heard. I would recommended her to anyone that needs a safe place to talk.
As for the other reviews about this place - I’ve heard the front desk workers on the phone and in office with patients often. They are kind, caring, and try their best. A lot of the patients are rude, demanding, and don’t take no for an answer. I understand that they sometimes need to be abrupt and firm to get their answer across. Be kind to them and they’ll go out of their way to help you.

Y'all worked with me perfectly Y'all have some wonderful and amazing staff I didn't run into not one mean or bad staff I did want to shout out Ms.Marcie she was a wonderful and lovely person to work with she did help me when I needed help processing or even just taking the time out of her day to sit there and talk with me it was just a lovely and friendly place I also wanted to shout out Ms.Maggie Ms.Aly as well as Mr. Mark he was a very friendly down to earth guy he was someone male wise that I took well to even tho I have a hard time with males also wanted to shout Mr. Thomas out they were amazing staff I also loved working with ms.Chealsea she helped me just as much as Ms.marcie I really trusted them there's some other nurses I liked working with they were amazing and very understanding of my conditions and didn't say or do anything that would set me off like for an example calling me an attention seeker would have set me off the deep end bc I know I'm not but at other facilities they have been known to do so anyways the only reason I gave it a four star is because of having to constantly hit the shower button that ticked me off every night made me dread taking a shower I felt like I was in prison for a minute also that stupid beacon man I hated that every fifteen min check I know there has to be a reason for it but damn that got annoying but if I had to recommend this facility to anyone I would bc y'all were amazing and I can't thank y'all enough I know it's hard being stuck behind four walls with the type of trauma I have but by the grace of God I made it and I'm not gonna question how I made it but it was worth every minute of it now 6 hrs away from home was hard on me but it also got me away so I could decompress and that I'm thankful for too also wanted to recommend maybe getting two or three phones for 3 East bc that right there wasn't working with just one phone when you had about four or five patients asking to use one phone but other than that thank y'all so much for all y'all did for me an amazing down to earth straight to the point Dr Kayla also loved the rec therapists they were amazing and lovely people to be around

Ok, i will preface this with that I was a BHA(MHT) at Carolina Dunes in the Wilmington area. So when I knew I needed help, I knew i did not want to go there, but also knew mostly what to expect, I was also voluntary.
First off what I would improve. Since the adult units alternate going to the cafeteria, it would be considerate to find a way (at breakfast or the day before) to read the choices for lunch and dinner and offer them to us. Softer mattresses. Carolina Dunes did have that going for them. Find a way for the coffee to be available sooner.
Now, my experience may have been different because they all knew my background, and I was voluntary, but it was mostly enjoyable. Everyone was treated fairly, even the "problem" patient that came in towards the end of my stay. There were really only two techs who were not very friendly and personally to me came across as not wanting to be there, and that was on Saturday 11/22. I was on 2 West. There were others that were great, and I apologize for not remembering their names. but the ones that stuck out to me (Told yall i was calling you out lol) were MHTs Sasha, Jess, and Albert. Rec Sarah, Clinician Miss Kobe, provider Janelle, and nurses Christi and Christina. Hopefully I will never need to come back, but IF I do i plan on coming back here. Thank you all
I have been here just over a week an find Stepping Stone Manor and Port Health IOP program to be an important asset to our community. If you want to stay clean and sober and are fortunate enough to get in to this program be grateful for your blessing. It's not everyday you get handed an opportunity to get your life back. You definitely get what you put in here at Stepping Stone.

It is actually the best overall medical office I have ever been to. I go in, get seen right away and they are very thorough. I cant say enough good things about being a patient there. I have been involved with Stedman Wade Family medical in Stedman NC for 15 months. I highly recommend them due to the love and care that everyone shares with each patient and their loves ones. Just always keep in mind Stedman Wade Family Medical center is open at normal business hours for a quick and availability to been seen with a medical professional for any medical needs or concerns. They always try to fit patients in ASAP if needed or will be directed and handled in the appropriate and professional way. Anyone looking for good professional care please give Stedman Wade Medical Center a call they are awesome.
