I’m disappointed by the other reviews I’m seeing. These people WILL work with you as long as you’re patient, and polite. No, it won’t happen overnight, but be patient and you will get everything you need. They are trying their best, and they don’t get paid enough especially the therapists.

Not quite sure why there are so many negative reviews not sure if they are mostly outdated, but I’ve had a wonderful experience with coastal horizons at the burgaw location! My therapist, Leah offers EMDR for trauma. They have telehealth options, as well as in office if you prefer and they got me a medication management referral within a week! Highly recommend

When I called here, I had very little hope that I would be able to get help. One, I dont have insurance. And, two, self pay rates are insane and too much for me to afford. So I was pretty hopeless but called anyway. Im really glad I did. Everyone that has reached out has become an advocate in my name, each one truly dedicated to finding a way around the barriers so that I could get help. None of them have accepted no for an answer and has been diligent in their efforts. On top of that, they keep in touch with me and im not even a patient yet Hands down it has been an experience that has renewed my faith in people. Laura and Jason both made me feel like they cared about what was happening to me and wanted to get me help. I felt cared for and not judged. It meant a lot at a time when it was make it or break it for me.

I want to thank Wilmington treatment center for teaching me how to use the tools to get me on the path that I am meant to be on. Ed’s words are amazing, some people think he’s a hardass but this gentleman cares about everyone who walks in the door. Karmen cares about us just as much as Ed does too and is a great human being. Sean and miss juanita are two of the best counselors I have ever dealt with. Miss Fayth who was my counselor is totally awesome and is going to do am amazing job in her new role her. The food was the only drawback here as it was terrible. Lamont, who is a cook here was the shining star of the culinary team put heart into his cooking and was the best there but it’s too bad I only got taste his food two times before I transferred to Php. Overall my stay was fantastic. There were a few negative people on staff but I’m Not going to put them on blast here but I’m sure they know they are. I’m proud to be Alumni now

I love Amy Howard. I first started seeing her when I was discharged from a psychiatric hospital due to being suicidal. From day one Amy was so patient with me. She always tells me that if I need to see her she will fit me into her schedule. She is aware of my medical conditions, and considers that when she prescribes my medicine. I have nothing but respect and gratitude for the staff of the Jacksonville CBOC. Many of the employees are Veterans themselves, or married to one, or have a close relative that is a Veteran. There have now been a total of four times that they because of their attention to the veteran and genuine concern they have saved my life. I think the world of my current Primary Physician and his team. The truth is I've been there when some of those who wrote negative reviews have been there. Put simply, how one treats those that serve often determines the attitude they perceive as coming from the one trying to do their job and help them. A little kindness and courtesy means a lot to the crew who are doing their best. And that's the point... THEY are doing their best... and compared to what we had not so long ago in the old converted gas station on Hargett Street, the old clinic... we all should be thankful.

Hands down great experience. Contacted the clinic about enrollment questions, Phyllis at the front desk was helpful, compassionate and friendly! She got our questions answered quickly. We came in the next day and enrollment was a breeze, Jeff was helpful and quick. He gave us information on the next steps and additional benefits. Lots of negative reviews which surprised me. Great customer service overall and both genuinely wanted to help.

January 13, 2026 annual appointment, Goldsboro CBOC: I’m an infrequent user of this CBOC but my experience is much more positive than what some have written. From the moment Dr. Thomas arrived she has handled my issues expeditiously and correctly the first time. Her nurse returns calls the same day and is results oriented. I was here before CBOC came to town. Trust me, don’t knock a local VA facility that so many dedicated officials worked so hard to bring to us for our benefit. No, like the military, they’re not perfect but from my perspective they are dedicated professionals grinding through each and every day in the most bureaucratic agency of the US government. My grandmother has been here for little over a week, 6th floor, and I cannot express how amazing her nurses and all the staff here have been. I am on the 6th floor but I came through the emergency room having symptoms of a stroke and or heart attack. I have never been to a hospital where the people were so nice to me and treated me so nice and went above and beyond to make me comfortable and feel better . I've been here 8 days and I've had the best nurses and assistance transporters everyone has gone above and beyond for me and I know I don't deserve it the only thing that has kept me from having another heart attack is the laughter and fun that they've given me while going through the most traumatic experience of my life. Nutrition one above and beyond . I've been to every department mri heart catheter and many many more. I do have two suggestions even though my experience was amazing and I have no complaints. One the MRI department needs a second MRI and maybe preferably for a bigger people. I'm average size and it was a tight fit. Two. Find a way to honor and support these great friendly staff you have.

I recently met with Dr.Eric Keller, an Interventional Radiologist at Novant, Wilmington concerning a nerve pain related issue in my leg. I found Dr. Keller to be extremely knowledgeable, informative, personable and very genuine. He knows his area of expertise and is willing to explore all potential options in the challenging area of nerve pain relief. My husband had been feeling ill for a couple of days. I took him to the ER and expressed how he was feeling. The guy came around to him asked a few questions and we went right in. Set in the lobby about fifteen minutes and he was going into a room. The doctor came in and accessed him and admitted him. The ER was filled to capacity, actually over capacitated. The care that they gave him was over and beyond. The same night he was moved into another room in the ER. The care was also amazing. He was comfortable and they were very attentive. The next day or the day after he was moved to the PICCU unit on the 7th floor,where he received the best care ever. Thank you Mikayla,McKenzie, Casey,Katelyn and a few others that I cannot remember their names! SHOUT OUT to the amazing Dr. Joshua Watson!!! I missed you this weekend. He was attentive to all of my husband's every needs. AWESOME. I also want to thank Taylor on the 9th floor for all she did as well! Good job NHRMC keep up the good work!

Easter Seals Port Health Wilmington clinic is a comprehensive mental health clinic offering low and no cost mental health resources to patients. They offer counseling and medication treatment as well as other services. I have been a patient at Port Health and utilize zoom counseling sessions for my mental health needs. All of the staff have been professional, and I am more than happy with the results that I have seen in myself since beginning counseling at Port Health. Although I use zoom meetings, they also offer more traditional sessions in person and are more than happy to accommodate patient needs. While progress in mental health can be particularly difficult to measure quantitatively, since starting counseling at Port Health I have noticed incredible changes in my attitude, ability to cope, deal with complex emotions and situations and even when I make a mistake, I am more conscious and aware of my choices and their impact on the world and myself. Port Health has been vital at a time in my life when I was uncertain how I would get beyond the loss of my father, and immediately after losing my mother, without a major mental health breakdown. That breakdown did not occur, and I credit Port Health Wilmington for helping me see my way through one of the most challenging times in any person's life. I could not imagine my life today without the incredible staff at Port Health Wilmington. More importantly I credit them with helping me realize in real terms that my decision to abstain from medication treatments was correct, but I could not have made that decision intelligently without knowing and believing that should I have needed medication treatment that the staff at Port Health was ready to support me in any way that I would need. I have and do recommend Port Health Wilmington also known as Easter Seals Port Health Wilmington to anyone going through addiction, mental health crisis, or any other mental health related events.
