Maryland Recovery is an addiction recovery program in Harford County. They’ve been around since 1999 in Bel Air, Maryland and offer affordable recovery housing and outpatient programs. I've been in 7 short n long term programs in Baltimore City with my wife Amanda. She passed away September 17th 2024 at 33yrs old. I was not just lost, broken hopeless n suicidal but much worse because the love of my life was gone forever. I thought I'd accepted it was the end for me n that there was no God. Being at my worst i found Amanda was still guiding me even when I didn't know it. Today I can say she helped me find MRP n put some of the best people in my life. I am so very grateful for Maryland recovery n the amazing clinical staff Alex,Kim,Doug, Brittany, Crystal, April,Laura, Carrie, Jessica and Stephanie. They not just did their jobs to the highest standard as well as showed me dignity and respect while doing it. They all gave me what I wanted n needed to want to live life again, setting me up for success, giving me a solid foundation like I never had before. The PSA's Matt, Hayden ,Big Drew, Jeff,Paul, both Lisa's and Nikki literally made me feel like I was not just a person but part of a big "recovery"family that truly cared about me , my needs and wants. They all took the time to get to know me, guide me and shared very helpful personal stories about themselves or someone they knew that has or was going through something like i was. I didn't feel different or alone anymore but part of something bigger. I can honestly say i see things in all of them that id like to see in myself one day as i continue to grow and move forward in life. I see them all as my friends and leaders in recovery and life. Ive done more in the last 30days at MRP than ive done in the last 10 yrs of my life. THANK YOU for helping save my life. If you're struggling with addiction and mental health issues, MRP is the best place to go to for a recovery and set you up for continued success.Just be willing and i swear everything else will fall into place!!!.

The Ranch Pennsylvania is so much more than just a treatment center—this place genuinely saved my life, and I will always be grateful for the weeks I spent there. From the moment I arrived, the beautiful facilities and peaceful grounds made me feel safe and at ease. I especially loved spending time in the meditation barn and walking the premises; those moments helped me reconnect with myself in ways I never could have imagined. The therapists are absolutely incredible, and Amber and Dara were instrumental in my healing process. They didn’t just teach me about recovery—they helped me uncover what I truly needed to begin to heal. The atmosphere at The Ranch is warm and supportive, with staff and fellow clients who care deeply and form real friendships. Approaching two years of sobriety, I still cherish the connections I made at The Ranch Pennsylvania and stay in touch with many wonderful people from my time there. I truly can't thank this place enough for everything it’s given me.

I am writing in high praise for the Maryland Addiction Recovery Center (MARC), its staff and its co-founder and Executive Director Sam Bierman. Our daughter is now completing the program and is in her ninth month of sobriety through these collective efforts and the perseverance of our daughter. MARC not only cares deeply for individuals in its programs, but also family members as well—through family counseling and updates that offer great compassion, understanding and peace. MARC has my highest recommendation. It has saved our daughter; she has saved herself through this excellent program. As a writer and career journalist, I know excellence when I see it…

not a bad place, really helped me find a community that i could relate and connect with. i ended up AMA-ing for my own reasons. with these places, there’s always room for improvement, i think there could’ve been a lot more to do and get engaged in in residence, i wish we had movie nights or kareoke for example. and i wish the woman’s group didn’t feel so…misogynistic? just felt like everything we did was very girly? the best i can put it ig. idk i found myself watching a lot of TV because of how little there was to do. if you’re looking for somewhere serene, you won’t find it here, BUT i think if you come in with an open mind, and do what you need to do, and DONT get caught up in other clients, you can find a lot of peace in sobriety. remember what you came for. (it’s you) goodluck in there! be nice to the TA’s too, they DO care about you. i want to shoutout some of my favroite people, i think most of them have left, but GOD i miss y’all. Mike James, ur the bald G.O.A.T Riley, i freaking love your emo alien ass Carmen, you were like a mother to me Camilo, i still check to see how my bones are feeling, you really helped me a lot. Charlie, you are just awesome i still have the fallout sticker you didn’t want. Greg, MY REHAB DAD I LOVE YOU, thanks for that dope hike that one time. Katie, i loved watching movies with you, you’re the best. Kerianne, the best therapist i think i’ve ever had, she CARES. Jackie, i wish we had more conversations, you’re so dope and to anyone else i might be forgetting, THANK YOU!! i love you guys so much.

If you’re looking for a place that actually treats addiction like the chronic, complex, identity-dismantling condition it is, MARC is it. They take time, care, and effort, offering long-term care that dares to go beyond the hope of a 28-day radical transformation. The staff really knows what they’re doing, and they manage to be both clinicians and humans. It’s rare to find a program this ethical, compassionate, and effective. I couldn’t recommend MARC more!

I am deeply grateful for the support I’ve received from Kolmac Integrated Behavioral Health. With their guidance, encouragement, and education, I’ve been able to reach nearly 6 months of sobriety; something I once thought would be impossible. What I appreciate most is that Kolmac doesn’t just focus on recovery, but on truly equipping you with the tools and knowledge to succeed in everyday life. The staff is compassionate, professional, and genuinely invested in each person’s journey. The educational sessions have been eye-opening and practical, helping me better understand myself, my triggers, and how to build a healthier lifestyle. Sobriety is not easy, but having Kolmac by my side has made all the difference. They’ve created a safe space where I feel supported, respected, and empowered to keep moving forward. I would highly recommend Kolmac to anyone seeking not just treatment, but real transformation.

Stephanie Lamont (Towson Executive Director) is an exceptional leader who leads with integrity, humility, and vision. As a true servant leader, she consistently put the needs of the team and the care of the people we serve above her own, creating an environment where the team feels supported, empowered, and motivated to do their best work. She provides a safe space for us to be fully engaged in what we do, what we are passionate about and that is helping people struggling with addiction. Her ability to balance strategic thinking with genuine compassion is rare and inspiring. She listens actively, leads by example, and makes thoughtful decisions that reflect both short-term needs and long-term growth. I served in the military for 20 years and during that time I experienced often people in leadership positions that were extremely harmful, who often took advantage of the talent they had on their teams, who lacked any emotional intelligence or insight for or into the people they were leading. It has been both professionally and personally healing to have this opportunity to work alongside Stephanie on this journey of my second career. Organizations are often only as good as its people, and the culture is often dictated by those at the top, and the level of care, compassion, innovation, and attention that we can provide here in Towson is a direct reflection of Stephanie’s consistent and compassionate leadership. So if you are looking for a place to land, to start working on your recovery and you want to work with clinicians that are going to show you the compassion you deserve and support you in taking your life back. This is the place. Join us.

If your reading the reviews for this facility because your planning on getting help or even contemplating getting clean. Let me tell you....DO IT! It saved my life and many of my friends as well. I was scared at first obviously because i didn't want to be sick from the withdrawal. This facility actually does care about your safety and sobriety, your not just a number here. Youll be listened too and treated like a human being unlike a lot of places where your just an addict. Even if your not ready and just have questions, give them a ring....it could actually really change your life. The transition from the street drugs to the methadone was quite painless and I finally got relief. No more going days without and being sick, no more being sick at work, no more being sick around the kids, no more excuses! Long story short I can gladly say that I've been clean for so many years now and I owe it all too pyramid and the staff. I know it sounds silly but making that change and that choice was so scary and hard for me but when I found out how easy it was and how painless it was I felt so silly. You can do it. Make the call, you deserve it!

People need to understand something about vet hospitals. As a veteran myself I have come to not only learn but also experienced that people go to the hospital for the smallest issues which could have been cared for at home. On top of that military doctors aren’t the best so I usually take the time to seek civilian doctors. Save the negative comments because more the half the time people usually don’t go by them. I certainly do not

First off, They got me an airplane ticket and flew me from my home state to the facility. Upon arrival during intake, it was determined that my blood alcohol level was .3 something so they sent me to the hospital once that came down, they came and got me and took me to the facility. I was there for detox only they made sure I was comfortable. The facility is very nice. There was no pressure if I needed to stay up cause I couldn’t sleep that was fine or watch TV which they had a very nice one in the room with a nice queen size bed. They did my laundry They cooked the food, which was very nice. I also got upset a couple times and went off by myself. I have no idea where they come from or how they knew but a staff member would soon be close by to talk with no pressure.. Once I was safely detox They flew me back home. They also helped with my aftercare and arranged in IOP for me when I got home. They also called and checked up on me and talking with Ashley down in Florida was like a godsend because I needed that conversation God’s angels comes when you least expect it . Thank you so much Innovo ! Gene

I arrived at the Retreat at Sheppard Pratt suffering from severe obsessive-compulsive and body dysmorphic disorders. Jon Hershfield and the OCD team provided me with exceptionally skilled treatment so I could return home to a significantly higher-quality, more productive, and happier life. I worked specifically with Jon, Molly, and Rebecca (the entire team is fantastic), and they are without a doubt the most knowledgeable, compassionate, intentional, and collaborative clinicians with whom I have ever worked over the course of my 30+ year journey with OCD. They educated me on my conditions and empowered me to build the skills and tools necessary to live with and effectively manage these chronic illnesses. They worked closely with my psychiatrist and social worker on my care team at the Retreat to create a holistic approach to recovery. They also ensured that I was discharged with a comprehensive plan to execute with my psychologist at home. I highly recommend them and am eternally grateful for their life-changing care.

I went to The Retreat at Sheppard Pratt experiencing severe depression, anxiety and OCD. I'd been to other facilities and had to wait in line for up to an hour or more for meds that were dolled out without any consideration for the patient. I also had psychiatrist's who would schedule virtually once a week. This was NOT the case at The Retreat. The staff there were awesome! Absolutely ALL of the staff there, especially the doctors and nursing staff, were extremely attentive and knowledgeable. It HONESTLY felt like they cared. I literally cannot say enough great things about the OCD team, led by Jon Hershfield. They were tremendous! I met with Jon or one of his staff nearly every day I was there. Absolute pros! Thank you, guys! The Retreat is a clean, friendly, attentive and professional place to go if you are experiencing mental health problems. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

I spent 4 weeks at the Retreat at Sheppard Pratt last summer. I came in with horrible panic attacks and anxiety, especially around being in cars and transportation. When I arrived, I literally couldn’t be in a car for more than 10 minutes without the help of medication. I was ultimately diagnosed with OCD and very very lucky to be treated by Jon Hershfield and his team including Melissa Mondich. I started exposure therapy the 2nd week. My exposures were around the triggers to my panic attacks like motion sickness. We drove in circles in the car with the music on loud, and the heat up way too high, while I read from my phone. At first I was exhausted and it was tough but it is pretty amazing how quickly this produced results and I saw myself growing stronger. I had so much support and encouragement by the staff and my peers in the program. This program was very well rounded. I also had yoga sessions with Leonora, Acupuncture with Trina, and training with Terry, all of which I miss very very much. I went into the program being scared about driving 10 minutes away to a target and left the program and went to Greece to enjoy my regularly scheduled summer vacation and did not need any anxiety medication at all. I really can not recommend this experience enough. Also a massive thank you to Dr. Amara, my psychiatrist who oversaw my whole treatment and to the nursing staff especially Susan, Kate, and Talila!

I wrote a google and yelp last week about this to Safeway at WMC Drive in Westminster; they responded that someone would contact me but they never did. So, I'm upping it a notch and see hat you good folks have to say!! Last week, late at night, I was in Safeway on WMC Drive in Westminster. A customer brought their pet dog (not a service animal) in to the store and the 2 of them strolled from aisle to aisle shopping here and there. I asked the store's on duty boss, Kris, if having a pet dog in the store was appropriate. Kris, in front of 2 of his store coworkers, looked at me like a deer in the headlights, cleared his throat a couple times (I could see the brain neurons moving at warp speed trying to come up with a response), and he uttered "well, I don't know the store policies or regulations on this, but I guess it's ok for them to have their dog in the store. I responded "so, let's assume the dog poops in aisle 3 and raises its leg and sprays the fresh organic lettuce with pee pee in the fresh veggie section, what are you going to do and wouldn't that be totally unacceptable in the store?" Kris shot back with "well, sir, I can assure you I'll clean it up!!" Kris did not instill any confidence in me and I could just imagine the dog barfing up grass next to the open grapes in the fruit section in a manner similar to the way my childhood pet reacted in our backyard many years ago. So, Mr or Ms Health Department, is it okay if I bring my pet parrot into Safeway some night, let him fly all around the store, and watch him deposit numerous droppings everywhere, including on the fresh open-air French bread???? This might be fun, especially if Kris is working!! What say ye?????????????????????????

This place changed my life from the inside out, yes it was hard, but it was exactly what I needed to internally transform through Jesus Christ and many men and women in Christ from this facility that helped push me to find my own life. And now that I have had this experience from New Life for girls I have completely turned my life around, I was a drug addict for 3 years almost lost my children to my parents and now I am a life coach I work full-time I am getting my own home and my own new car and I am thriving in the Lord and it is all 100% due to this experience at this facility. I suggest anyone who has any life-altering ailment call New Life today and go there because it will change your life. You have to be willing to do the work, but if you are willing to make a change and show up for yourself, Jesus will show up for you through these people and this facility. I promise you won't regret your decision to go here. Jesus is lord!

My husband was in distress needing his birth certificate ASAP. We called ahead to make sure we had everything to get a copy the same day. Gentleman at the front desk was the absolute GOAT. He remembered us from the phone call and we got what we needed. Shout out to him and the entire department of Vital Records.

My son has been going there for a while. The only reason I give it four stars is because of the turnover rate. I feel like as soon as he made a connection with his therapist she left. He got a new therapist in the same thing happened however, everything else was great.

I didn't know what to expect coming here as it was my first time at a rehab, and I was pleasantly suprised within hours of checking in. The staff are an incredible group of people; they really do care about you and your recovery. More than once I had techs, nurses and counselors go out of their way to help me and my peers out. There is always someone to talk to for help; I was never turned away when I really needed something. The food is good (shoutout to Lonnie), you will always have clean laundry and linens and a bed to sleep in. If you need help with legal or insurance this place will work with you to get you squared away. Make no mistake, you will have expectations here and be held accountable. But if you are serious about getting better and willing to put in the work I don't think you'll find many places better than White Deer Run. I look forward to returning as a guest speaker in the future!

Recovery is what you make it. Play the victim or be the victor. The choice is your's, not the place. The help I received here and the resources I took advantage of, 17 months of sobriety speaks for itself. Thank you WDR. I am alive because you let me in.

If you’re looking for a recovery house to give you a great foundation for long-term recovery Homecoming projects is the house for you. I went to The Homecoming project right after turning 23. It was my first sober living home out of a 30 day program. I have been able to sustain almost 7 years of sobriety. Homecoming not only provided me a strong foundation for my recovery but continues to go far beyond supporting me after the house to be the best version of myself and the mother to my son who is now almost 9 years old. The Homecoming Project is not only a house but a community of support that I will be blessed with for the rest of my life.

Turning Corners has helped me tremendously! I was struggling with addiction and a friend said I should give this place a shot. I'm very happy that I did, as I've now been on the road to Recovery for almost 19 months. Pat and the staff are friendly and professional, and Pat is extremely knowledgeable. I primarily do one-on-one sessions, but have also attended several groups and they are great. I would highly recommend Turning Corners to anyone that thinks they may have a problem and are looking to work towards a happier and healthier life.
