My oh my! What can I say about Black Bear!? During my time at Black Bear I was rebellious at first because I'm an Addict. After getting settled, I realized that Black Bear Lodge is more than a rehab... it is a spiritual, holistic retreat! The walks from cabins to the different centers and the theater was amazing. I was physically unfit because of my alcoholism. When I left Black Bear I was much stronger physically and mentally. The counselors are so amazing and attentive. I had Corey my first time and Susan my second time (took me two times but that's neither here nor there lol. They were so empathetic. The nurses were amazing! Ms. Sylvia was the best nurse I ever had! Her daughter Jess was a tech and she was so caring and understanding. I had fun during my stay. I met some very comical people that I still stay in contact with to this day. Today I am almost 1 year and 1 month sober! I couldn't be here without the self care and mental health information that I learned from Black Bear! The food was great! The chef even caters to special diets (vegan, vegetarian, lactose intolerance). The staff really cares about the clients. I could go on and on about Black Bear and my review is jumbled because there is just so much good there! Detox was great, recovery was great, cabins were amazingly beautiful and relaxing, classes were informative, nursing was amazing...even the van drivers were awesome, so funny and caring. The off campus AA meetings were a good experience and prepares you for going to meetings after you get discharged. The administrative staff and discharge coordinators are great. Loved Melissa and the two Amandas and the many Heathers lol! I can't remember all the names but I love them all! I would honestly go to Black Bear just to chill if they allowed alumni to do that! Anyways, there might be some things that you may not like but if you are humble, open and vulnerable you can have an amazing experience at Black Bear Lodge Recovery!

My stay at Black Bear Lodge was surprisingly pleasant, despite my circumstances. The food was better than good, and having the nature walks and hikes were essential to my recovery. Looking back, I am so grateful for these small luxuries because they made all the difference. Especially since a lot of these places lack those commodities.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for help with addiction that truly wants help. The food was killer and the view is second to none! They changed my life. Amber was super helpful because I just recently got connected to the app that I didn’t know existed and I could have been using it this whole time!!! Thank you Amber Smith!

This review is for the ER Doctor that treated my Mother in Law on 12/26. Everyone was very caring even though they were covered up with patients. But, Dr Ariel Wilson was a wonderful example of caring and professionalism during the visit for my 90 year old MIL. She went above and beyond any expectations that we would normally have. She deserves recognition for her wonderful service and the example she is setting. All Drs and staff should be like Dr Wilson! Thank you!

I don't even know where to start. I came into Angel House 18 Months ago a hopeless addict that knew absolutely nothing about life. When I got here I had not a dime to my name, my clothes were scattered from Atlanta to Alabama, I had never held a job successfully, or had a healthy relationship in my life. Now I have been working as an Accountant/Office Manager for a solid year, I am financially stable, have my own house and car, but most importantly I have HEALTHY relationships with my family and friends that grow stronger by the day. Non of that ever felt possible until the Angel House made me realize how capable I really am. This place changed it for me, beyond anything I could have ever expected. It brings me to tears to even think about. I have NEVER had people care about me the way staff did. I never once felt like a case in a folder, and was always made to feel that what I had to say was important. I felt like someone who's voice mattered for the first time. Brooke Boyette would be running around the office trying to put out so many fires, help so many people at the same time, but not one time did she EVER tell me she didn't have time to talk and that still holds true today. Since I graduated I still call her on a daily basis and complain about life, but guess what... shes there to listen. This program does more than just show you how to live life clean. It shows you how to love again, let others love you, and gives you a family that you can hold onto forever. If your willing to fight for your life and come out on the other side you quickly realize that nothing is personal and its all spiritual. So that brings me to the director Angela. This lady spent hours and I mean HOURS on end fighting for my life when I didn't want to fight for it myself. I say hours because I was pretty stubborn and had a hard time opening my ears when it was time for me to listen. Angela would sit and talk with me no matter how long it took, till she was sure that I had heard her. She didn't have to do that. She could have left when the office closed at 7 "I had her there late MANY nights", she could have not answered her phone on a Sunday when I found out my mom relapsed after 10 years sober and stayed on the phone with me for over an hour, she didn't have to show up in the middle of the night when we needed her, she didn't have to fight so hard for ME and MY life but guess what... SHE DID!! Not only did she do it for me but continues to do it for every women that steps foot into that program. Her compassion for the work she does is beyond anything I have ever witnessed before. She showed me how to be a better person Spiritually, Mentally, and Financially. These women are hero's and a grateful recovering addict can quickly realize the lengths they go to for ALL women that come through the program. So if your ready and need to go somewhere that is going to truly change your life. You can find it at Angel House as long as your ready.

I came the HH in 2004, I had one foot in my grave and the other on a banana peal. My mother & father dropped me off at the blue house and wondered what I had got myself into. Believe it or not the first person i met as I entered was no other than Tom Hickey. Tom took one look at me and said “YOUR GONNA DIE”!!! I thought to myself what a thing to say to someone upon arrival. It took a while for me to figure out and eternalize why he would say that. The truth is he was rite. If I hadent shown up when I did I would have for sure.. By the grace of my higher power the Hickey house and Tom Hicky I didn’t relaps. Truth is I wanted to. I wanted to go out and get just a tore up as possible. Only problem is I remembered what to said to me. I eventually was put on staff at the Mountain House. I stayed at the house for 3 years and moved to Demorest In one of Sherry Hickyes apartments. I forgot to mention I worked 3 jobs while there. Made more money than I ever have and loved it. I was actually happy. No dope and I was actually happy.. Star Bridges was a good friend to me. I wonder if he remembers me? Hey Star hope you are well.

Jane is amazing and welcoming and so is Heather. They always remember me and ask about my children, they even offer to watch my infant when I have to bring him for a minute or 2 while I dose. It’s just a small help that makes being a single mom and bringing him to the clinic a little less stressful. (I only come 2 times a month) but nonetheless they do everything they can to help, like every business it is a money making business though so there isn’t charity, you have to follow the rules and expectations and as long as you go by that you’re in & out.

The way up provides the support, structure and recovery education needed to foster change and healing. I ve personally witnessed this program help someone move through being imprisoned by addiction for many years to freedom-the answer to a prayer he and I prayed more times than I could ever count. Roland and his staff seem to have a good balance of tough love and support that the men in the program need to gain accountability for their lives while also knowing they are not alone in what they are going through. This program played a huge part in his recovery and I m thankful every day that he gets to experience life and our kids without the weight of addiction on his shoulders.

Addiction is a disease. The solution to any problem is understanding the problem, without that there is no solution. Addiction is more than abstinence from mood altering substances. The Way Up will help you understand addiction and the problem. The structure of the program will help you change behaviors and thinking and enable you to get into the solution. You re surrounded by alcoholics and addicts that will help you. Truly the place to get clean. There s not another program like it. THERE IS HOPE.

If you re looking for a Christian-based program, this is one of the best places to consider. From personal experience, I attended this program back in October 2016 at the age of 20. At that time, I had no direction or discipline in my life. Waypoint Ministry introduced me to both and so much more.During the first 30 days of the program, participants go through a blackout period. During this time, we weren t allowed to exercise, as it allowed our bodies to recover from years of drug use and unhealthy lifestyle choices. After 30 days, we were allowed to begin exercising, which was a turning point for me.It has now been eight years since I graduated from the program. I still stay in contact with the men I attended with, and I cherish the fellowship I experienced there. One of the most impactful parts of the program for me was working in the thrift store. It was a fantastic learning opportunity that taught me soft skills I still use today. Because of that experience, I now enjoy visiting thrift stores and looking for treasures, knowing how much thought and effort goes into sorting donations, stocking the storefront and clothing racks, and even selling items online.Sadly, I ve lost a couple of friends over the years because they chose to return to their old lifestyles. However, I ve also witnessed countless examples of broken men entering the program and leaving as spiritual giants.Waypoint Ministry opened doors for me to participate in missions trips, youth camps, and even spreading the gospel in prisons. As of 2025, I m still sober and stay connected with a few people from Waypoint. If you had told me years ago that my life would turn out this way, I wouldn t have believed you. If I could sum up this program in one word, it s love. I came to Waypoint broken and scared, but this place gave me the opportunity to slow down, examine my life and upbringing, and find peace.I don t know what the future holds, but every morning I greet the sunshine with gratitude because of the incredible people involved in this ministry. It wasn t easy I can t count how many times I wanted to give up. But I kept going, and life today is nothing short of incredible.

I ve been in therapy on and off since my 20s, always striving to better myself. But in the past year with Kelly, I ve experienced more growth, self-awareness, and clarity than in the previous 19 years combined. When I first came to her, I was in a very dark place. With her guidance, I ve discovered foundational pillars that genuinely shape how I feel and navigate life. Just when I think we ve uncovered it all, she helps me see new areas to grow and improve.Working with Kelly has been nothing short of life-changing. She has a amazing ability to create a space of trust, understanding, and insight that fosters real transformation.I am so thankful our paths crossed, and I can t recommend Wellspring LS enough to anyone seeking meaningful, lasting change.

I see Dr. Pancheva. Shes taken care of me for years I wouldn't be where I am today without her. The refills get handled in less than 24 hours. Scheduling is very easy and simple. Even though I've moved over an hour away I can still do virtual visits. They even help you with financial assistance and payment plans.
