What an outstanding experience at Four County, I enjoyed talking to my counselor, she actually seemed to care about her patients unlike some of my past counselors at other facilities, there is a structured program to follow that helps you to stay sober! Are you tired of not being able to do the simplest of things? From not being able to keep a conversation going to not being able to keep up with a schedule; Valley Oaks will make those issues a thing of the past. I normally don't post reviews because nothing has ever motivated me in doing so. But this I can't keep a secret! Go here, and get the help you need. Forget the stereotype of "man up", or "get over it", and let's not forget "try harder." Enough is enough, trust me, I've tried everything in the book to be normal and I've failed each time. These amazing people here will get you the help you need, and get you one step closer to reaching your goal of being normal.

Don’t settle for just any generic treatment center. Indiana Center for Recovery has a reputation for the most advanced addiction and mental health care in the state — with 10 locations and hundreds of positive reviews online. Roxanna and her staff went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and safe. I have spent time in two different programs offered at this center and these people make all the difference. They make you feel seen and heard. Whenever there was an issue with day to day operations the staff you see daily took the time to address and ensure that you were heard and follow up action, if needed, was taken. My experience here would not have been as beneficial if not for Roxanna and her team. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

I first came to ICFR south bend on December 18th 2022. I was broken, strung out, withdrawing from multiple different substances, and alcohol. 6 years previous to that I had lived my life carelessly, recklessly, and with not much concern for my own life. Leading to 3 overdoses, multiple attempts on my life from others, always coming and going in people's lives, homelessness, institutions, and juvenile detention. And hurting the ones closest to me without even realizing it. So when I walked into ICFR that morning with my crazy grown out hair and beard, nothing but a shirt and a pair of shorts to my name. I didn't expect anyone to want anything to do with me. I had anger issues, trust issues, abandonment issues. I was in psychosis from the drugs and my bipolar 1. But when I first got there I met Max for the first time. The owner and at the time, executive director of the facility. He sat with me, looked me in the eyes and told me he was glad I was here. It was the first time in a long time I genuinely felt compassion from someone else. Then I did my intake and met Austin Hale, Austin took me under his wing and was there for me that whole time I was there the first time. Him, Roxanne, Kayla, Bella, Ashley, Liz, and Dino. They all saved my life. And many more people there, not only staff but clients. The group therapy we do there really gives everyone an opportunity to get to know one another and form Bonds with each other. That make it possible for us to have each other's backs and see life from different perspectives. I've also done php at ICFR south bend. Justin, Josh, Tammy, Tyler, Taylor. All of them work so hard and make the house feel like a team and supported. Outings on Sundays. Groups at the facility throughout the week. Connor who was a facilitator but is now a therapist is an extremely hard worker and amazing supporter. Same with Amy. Susie, and Candace are amazing client care coordinators. They truly do care. Melissa and Faith, have looked out for me and made it possible through their patience and grace towards me, for me to grow and change as times gone by. All the techs are amazing, Christina, Heather, Kaylie, Natasha, Ya Ya, Rachel, Sam, Kelsey, Conner, Chris, Lucas, Will. The therapists are amazing, Robert, Melissa, Connor. The nurse practitioners, Dawn, Liz, Gina, always listen and I feel heard and I trust them all. The alumni coordinators, Zach, Kaylie, and Shane really do help guide people after discharge and help them come back if needed. The haircut Woman, Erica, awesome to talk to and does such a great job! So does all the kitchen and janitorial staff. If not for ICFR South Bend, there would be no Christian Cornelis. And if I missed anyone just know I think about you all and my gratitude for you will never fade.

Let me just say I was a patient at Medmark for years and above everything no matter what because they open at 4:45 AM says it all. They generally want to meet everyday people’s needs to live a normal life.In and out the door before 5am to do what you need to do w your life. Try and find another clinic that does that for you. You won’t. Working men and women this your clinic. Just no weed. Sorry.

I do not typically do these reviews however I felt very strongly I needed to. I have been in the program for over 7 years. The program honestly saved my life after trying several other things. My addiction became like most had back problems and my doctors were very free to prescribe the opioids and benzodiazepines. Xanax was actually the worst for me hospitalized for over 10 days due to all the seizures. Anyways the nurses Yolanda Jackie Val are sweethearts and have never judged me once. Yolanda is the one person who always tells me she is proud of me I don’t even hear that from family. Kim who runs front desk is also great. In my experience I have had around 6 counselors and sorry to say this is the downfall here. I don’t know if they are overworked micromanaged or just don’t care but I have had to go elsewhere for my counseling. I have promise for my new counselor April who is new to this location. Since starting she has been on top on my case not letting anything slide. She gets accomplished what the 5 others took months to do and I appreciate that. Non judgmental follow-up and just caring she accomplishes where most can’t and this is what keeps me clean and alive and I thank her for that more than I can say. Doctor is a different story for a different day I will just say to the women ask that a third person be in the room. That’s all!

After completing inpatient rehabilitation, I transitioned into the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Parkdale Center and I can say with my whole heart that it was one of the most life-changing and soul-healing experiences I’ve ever had. Parkdale didn’t just help me continue my recovery, they helped me to continue to find myself again. They believed in me, held space for my pain, and gave me the tools and encouragement to continue to rise stronger than I ever thought possible. From the leadership to the support staff, everyone at Parkdale exudes compassion, professionalism, and a deep commitment to healing. But what makes Parkdale truly exceptional are people like Rigo and Claudia. They treated me not like a number or a case, but like family. There was zero judgment, only humility, kindness, and an unwavering belief in my potential. Rigo felt like a steady big brother, firm when needed, but always full of heart. Claudia radiates warmth and made me feel safe, seen, and cared for in a way that felt almost sacred. These two, and so many others at Parkdale (like Dr. Chris, Denise, Ty, David) restored my faith in people and reminded me that recovery is possible when you’re surrounded by those who genuinely care. Parkdale is the best at what they do because they combine clinical excellence with human connection. Their program isn’t just about sobriety, it’s about rebuilding your life with dignity, strength, and purpose. If someone I love ever needed help, Parkdale is the place I would trust. Pictured: Claudia (COO). Took time out of her busy schedule to chat with me and learn about the quality of my care.

If your children have mental or behavioral problems, then Midwest Center for Youth and Families may be what they need to get back on their feet. It’s a residential center in Kouts, Indiana. They help girls ages 10-18 and boys from 12-18. If your income isn’t that high, they do accept Indiana Medicaid. When your kids are admitted, they’ll get
As a parent currently navigating the incredibly difficult and emotional experience of having a child in inpatient behavioral treatment, I wanted to share a more balanced perspective regarding Midwest. Like many parents, I read the reviews before my son arrived and was absolutely terrified. While no facility is perfect, and this type of environment is extremely intense and constantly evolving, our experience so far has included several staff members whose passion, compassion, and dedication deserve recognition. Jasmine has been absolutely incredible. Her ability to balance the emotional needs of the patients while also managing staff and unit dynamics is something I genuinely admire. She listens, communicates honestly, remains calm under pressure, and approaches these kids with both accountability and compassion. Angie has such a calming and compassionate presence. You can genuinely feel that she cares deeply about the kids and the work she is doing. Cece has years of experience and taps into her mothering nature to provide a stable environment, often at the cost of the patients giving her flack for her consistency. She is a kind soul who has clearly dedicated herself to this type of work. Mama D has shown so much affection, concern, and dedication toward these boys. In an environment where many of these kids are struggling emotionally and behaviorally, that warmth matters more than people realize. Jamar has also stood out to me because of the stability and consistency he brings to the unit. At the same time, he still seems to understand that these are teenagers who occasionally need moments of laughter, flexibility, and normalcy within appropriate boundaries. Communication has been open throughout this process, although not always perfectly consistent, which honestly should be expected in a setting where staff are constantly navigating changing emotional, behavioral, and safety situations involving multiple adolescents at once. As a parent, this has been one of the hardest experiences of my life. But I also recognize how emotionally demanding this work is for the people caring for these kids every day. I simply wanted to acknowledge the staff members who have made a meaningful difference for our family during an incredibly difficult time. I will update this review once we have completed treatment there, but going on week four, I am very thankful that we ended up choosing Midwest. My son is always clean, has not complained about the facilities or the food, and he is a very picky eater. Yes, some of these reviews probably have some basis, especially those written by former patients. These kids are navigating very difficult emotions and issues in a world that I often find difficult to navigate even as an adult. There is no doubt in my mind that each of these kids is going to have a different experience and perspective while there and post-treatment. It is very much a situation where outcomes depend partly on whether the child is emotionally able and willing to engage in the work of treatment. Many are navigating medication changes, new diagnoses, changing home environments, and hormones all at the same time. It is a lot. I also wanted to add that our son brought up an issue with a staff member to us, and at first we took it with a grain of salt. After additional conversations, we began to believe there was merit to some of his concerns regarding this staff member. Jasmine handled this situation maturely and appropriately while balancing all sides of it. While I could understand my son's perspective, I have also grown to have deep care and concern for our mental health workers. This staff member is likely in need of a break from the unit she has been on for a lengthy amount of time, and this was addressed immediately before it spiraled into something bigger. So, if you're where we were a month ago, I get it. Take some deep, deep breaths, and make a call to Midwest and talk through your concerns. I think you will find that they are a very transparent behavioral health center that is constantly striving to improve.

Stayed here for about 2 months in 2024. I seriously was in the worst and unhealthiest phase of my life to date, as 2024 felt like a fever dream looking back on it. I would say I loved to meet more people who had issues like me and the staff was mostly awesome and there are a couple people I would love to give shout outs to. However, I would like to say that despite how much I loved the pros of this place, it doesn’t negate the negatives. There were a lot of traumatic instances where I had to watch people have meltdowns and SH. To be honest, though, I don’t remember a lot of it. I do still have my journal though. Taylor was my therapist. She was exceptional. I loved that I felt comfortable talking to her. She was so nice and I really hope she is doing well now. I hope all of the people I met there are, as well. Sydney was fantastic. I feel like I really did get on her nerves a lot but I definitely felt happy that she kept her patience with me. I hope she’s doing good too. I miss chef Jerry 🥲 Teacher Wendy was awesome. I honestly kind of miss her. As much as I hated feeling trapped there, I can definitely say I felt I had people in my corner when things would go awry. I am seriously so thankful for the experience I had there, regardless of the negatives, because I did learn a lot about the consequences of my actions and how to have a more positive perspective in life. As terrible as it sounds, it was a stark reality check. I got a real good look into the person I was becoming, and it changed me so much. Wherever the people are that i met there are now, i hope they have found a way to move past the things they have been dealt, including the staff. Nobody deserves to have to be in the dark place they are when they enter those doors. I feel like most people who take these job routes are people who have been in our shoes, and it’s inspired me to do more for other people and step back and think about the consequences my actions have on other people. So if you remember me, know I am grateful for each and every one of you I had the privilege of meeting and sharing experiences with at MCYF. Regardless of whether we had a strained relationship or if we were practically best friends, I will never stop wishing the best for you and your situations.

It’s been over a year from me staying here, this was my only trip to a ward that actually helped the staff or well at south shore I can’t talk for kouts big location. I’ve been almost always clean from Self harm since then, I will say relapses have happened but I’ve learned to cope after them and stop myself after one. People think when in recovery you won’t ever relapse it does happen you just gotta learn how to take care of it. I hated it here not because it didn’t help it was just so different, I’m from Kentucky so going all the way to Indiana was so different. I was apart of a really good group of kids though, of course there was days it was chaotic and loud. But we all have problems and sometimes it’s overwhelming. We didn’t have a single hold while I was there! It was a very safe space, there was one nurse I can’t remember her name, but she was very abusive of her power. If she was the main nurse on shift / if Brendon wasn’t there if any of us cried we were childish / not using coping skills effectively. Yelled constantly even if you just asked to use the bathroom, she made me feel like crap. She really shouldn’t work in that line of work, I was talking to my mom on the phone about her yelling at me for asking to go talk to the nurse about taking my anxiety medication (PRN) and she hung the phone up and sent me to my room for the rest of the night. And I ended up crying for a while and when everyone went to sleep I had my head stuffed in a pillow and she still came in there and yelled at me saying I was keeping everyone down the hall up with my crying like a baby. I finally fell asleep in the morning I asked the others in the ward and they were all like “you were crying?” She had made it up. However on another point, Brendon !! / brendonavisa 👑 he helped so much I felt as though he really understood and listened. He was very strict on rules but he kinda had to be. He helped me though so much trauma flash backs. I’d have them at night a lot while trying to sleep and he’d sit in the hall with me and fill out I think it was called the flash back flower? It would let you write it down instead of talking about it and it would be given to your theapst
