What an outstanding experience at Four County, I enjoyed talking to my counselor, she actually seemed to care about her patients unlike some of my past counselors at other facilities, there is a structured program to follow that helps you to stay sober! My son goes here and gets therapy sessions weekly. He is very comfortable with the lady, she's very helpful. The only issue was lafayette office missed placed our two checks, then found found a month later. Other than that my son is improving n calmer.

So I just want to start off by stating that this facility changed my life drastically and saved my butt! Quite literally. I came to FCRC a scared, shaking, & shy woman. I was a kid on the inside.
Mr. Jeff & Savannah saved me from myself AT LEAST 3 times from trying to walk out on my recovery because of issues on the outside (life continues even though we go to treatment, ya know). When I tell you I have never met a team of such caring loving & HONEST staff? I hadn’t until I walked into this facility. I graduated yesterday, with 44 days today under my belt. I had hopped on a plane from Houston TX not knowing anything but my Higher Power did. I am so beyond grateful to First City and their peeps. All the way from the Detox experience to my PHP part of my program, everyone was helpful and so kind. And that level of care? Hard to find. Aye, shout out to Bobby in PHP & IOP, that’s my boy!!! First City, thank you for giving me my life back & my children their mother back. My husband his wife. We love y’all. 🙏🏼🫶🏼🫡

I, like all, was at ICFR at the worst time of my life. I had several doctor appts that I needed to make when I went in. The travel was accommodated for me to be able to be taken to so I didn't miss them and that was one of my biggest concerns. When I had a major issue, Nick Gore (regional VP)was ON IT quickly to guide me thru it. The program was a vital step in saving my life and here I am almost 2 yrs sober now. I just completed the 28 day program and the staff and everyone there were great people and the food was also very good they are going through allot of remodeling and things we're a little hectic which is understandable but other than that it was a life changing experience

11/2025 found me in a deep dark place of depression. Two other local psychiatric hospitals were tried, but ICFR Mishawaka's qualified employees, structured program with medical management and a clean comfortable environment enabled me to return to my family and normal life not only functional, but happier and healthier. Dealing with other residents working through their struggles was difficult, but when I focused on my learning and working toward my recovery by implementing what I was taught in group lessons and therapy, I became more of my normal self again. If you come to ICFR for mental help, the qualified therapists, nurses, group leaders, and licensed social workers are truly invested in your improvement toward wellness. You need to look past the minor problems and focus on your own mental health. The place is clean, (their environmental staff are super,) the programs are definitely well planned, most everyone is invested in you, and though not perfect, they try to improve together. The Intensive Outpatient Pgm was excellent too. I took notes and have them in a binder to refer to when the going gets rough, but I have and will continue to succeed.

I spent 3 months at ICFR South Bend. It was the 4th facility I had been at since August 2025. I can honestly say this place was a great experience for me. I came to know the staff and truly believed they had my best interest at heart. Sometimes there were communication issues but for the most part it was a nurturing, supportive environment. There were a few staff members who made my stay special. Facilitators Stephanie, Dr. Steph and Heather as well as Client Care Coordinator Constance were extremely helpful. They were a great resource and a wealth of information. I don't think my experience would have been as positive without them.
I would highly recommend ICFR South Bend for recovery facility.

I went to Northwest when I was a teenager and it helped me a lot to get my life back again, I had been an alcoholic before I finished the inpatient program, they encourage me to understand that life actually matters, the staff gave the hope and tools to overcome all my addictions. If they took my insurance which covers everything, it would def be a better experience. However the choice between using and taking my medicine is clear to me and worth the money in the end. However it is a program that you have to work for yourself. No one can do it for you.

Let me just say I was a patient at Medmark for years and above everything no matter what because they open at 4:45 AM says it all. They generally want to meet everyday people’s needs to live a normal life.In and out the door before 5am to do what you need to do w your life. Try and find another clinic that does that for you. You won’t. Working men and women this your clinic. Just no weed. Sorry.

I went here about 6 years ago. I don't know if the Staffing is the same at this time as I haven't been in touch with them since then. In November I'll be 6 years clean. They "Saved my life" doesn't quite seem like enough. I have tried, and failed, with several other treatment programs. The combination of tough love, science based recovery, medication, and alternative programs was perfect for me. My favorite part is that even though I discharged, I can still come back and hang out. It is my "home base' and I am always made to feel welcome when I come to visit.

Background: Healthcare provider, Male, 29 years old: Making a decision to return to rehab was a hard one at the time. I was scheduled to visit family in the Caribbean but relapsed in the weeks before prior. Three days before vacation I reached out. I knew deep down if I didn't seek help soon I would get caught, or worse, continue hurting the ones I loved, or God forbid harm a patient/face criminal charges. I went to treatment instead of a payed vacation and odd as this sounds, it was the best decision I made. Over a year later I am still clean and sober, happier than I have been in years. Most importantly, I have a relationship with my family and they trust me again.
Parkdale not only helped me re-enter the profession of nursing but offered the support and individual counseling I needed to regain confidence and trust in myself. Because of substance abuse, I developed depression/anxiety, which the clinicians helped treat with cognitive and pharmacological therapy.

After completing inpatient rehabilitation, I transitioned into the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Parkdale Center and I can say with my whole heart that it was one of the most life-changing and soul-healing experiences I’ve ever had. Parkdale didn’t just help me continue my recovery, they helped me to continue to find myself again. They believed in me, held space for my pain, and gave me the tools and encouragement to continue to rise stronger than I ever thought possible.
From the leadership to the support staff, everyone at Parkdale exudes compassion, professionalism, and a deep commitment to healing. But what makes Parkdale truly exceptional are people like Rigo and Claudia. They treated me not like a number or a case, but like family. There was zero judgment, only humility, kindness, and an unwavering belief in my potential. Rigo felt like a steady big brother, firm when needed, but always full of heart. Claudia radiates warmth and made me feel safe, seen, and cared for in a way that felt almost sacred. These two, and so many others at Parkdale (like Dr. Chris, Denise, Ty, David) restored my faith in people and reminded me that recovery is possible when you’re surrounded by those who genuinely care.
Parkdale is the best at what they do because they combine clinical excellence with human connection. Their program isn’t just about sobriety, it’s about rebuilding your life with dignity, strength, and purpose. If someone I love ever needed help, Parkdale is the place I would trust.

It all started YEARS ago when I sent an email to Better Life, desperately searching for a provider to get me in right away. It was a Friday. I was refused to be seen at my then current provider for being 15 mins late. I had just had a C Section. I wasn’t even cleared to drive yet. They were so overbooked they refused to squeeze me in. I said, it’s Friday! I won’t be able to get my meds until Monday! They told me, sorry, we can’t help you— and offered to give me “comfort” meds in the form of Imodium. Which we all know is a joke. & they also informed me it would be 2 weeks til my next appointment. NOT Monday. They played with my sobriety as having to go that long without your medication can be devastating to your recovery. Like a true Angel from above, Dr O called me into his office AFTER HOURS ON A FRIDAY and got me my medication RIGHT AWAY. I thought there was no way he’d see my email before the weekend. I had googled other doctors and locations in my area and came across Better Life and his email and though it felt hopeless, I emailed him. Not only did he see it, and quickly, but he took time to get me in when his office was supposed to be closed! I was able to leave his office as a new patient and go get my meds! He saved my sobriety that day and I’m forever grateful to him for that! It is something I will NEVER forget! I was his patient for a few years (and he IS as fabulous as these reviews say) until he got some help on board, NP Laura! Laura is incredible! She has gone above and beyond for me on more than one occasion. Talking with her is like talking to a friend and I look forward to seeing her. She IS a friend, in my eyes. One of the most compassionate addiction specialists in NWI, next to Dr O. This office and everyone in it are in a league of their own and I will NEVER see another doctor! They’re stuck with me for good! If you want to find a place that truly cares and will do whatever they can to help you stay sober… give this place a try. Just don’t all of you come at once HAHA (I joke) BUT one of the best things about this place is the fact that they are not too overloaded with patients. Often times a good place will go downhill when they take on too many people bc the quality of care goes down. This place does NOT overbook and I’m entirely grateful for that. & if they do, heck I don’t ever notice!! My care is never compromised! My appointments are never a headache! Running a few minutes behind will never put me in a bad spot again and as a mother of 5, that alone is priceless because being late happens sometimes! Good place to get help but beware of the groups they force you to talk about issues and then the groups are supposed to be confidential no they are not.my medication doctor sent a referral over about individual therapy which was for a female but instead set me up with a male.my medication doctor stopped communicating and listening to me and chose to listen and communicate with my behavior staff who I see once a week.i like Dr. Soleai but I am the patient not the behavior staff.

I'm pleased to say that there has been many good changes at Oaklawn. I've been going here off and on in the 40+ years since I was in high school (back when it was known as Madison Center), and 99% of the psychiatrists and counselors have always been very good. Though they are not immune from their own confirmation bias. Unfortunately, even though I like most of them, frontline staff has been in the past unsympathetic and cruel.
When you're mentally ill, specifically having Major Depressive Disorder, doing anything at all can seem like an impossible task. Just getting out of bed can be terrifying and seem to have no point. And after you had to fight yourself and the world to get there, being required to fight for yourself and the respect everyone deserves, in a place where they're supposed to be there to help people with mental illnesses, is really not just inappropriate but unforgivable. Fortunately, management is approachable, and will listen. At least they have to me, and have thanked me for bringing certain issues to their attention. Even writing me a letter a week or so after we spoke.
I don't work there, and I only know the things that I've seen and experienced firsthand, but it seems like a much friendlier place to work, less sterile. Which I'm sure positively affects the frontline staffs attitudes. And though frontline staff can seem clickish, and move to defend themselves as a group when one is criticized by a patient, say by gaslighting that patient, management is aware that that is inappropriate.
In the 5 years since my previous review, I only recall one single negative experience.

A decent place for low cost psychiatric care. But the front desk staff in the Physicians floor can be extraordinary rude and unsympathetic. Especially if you mention any displeasure with Oaklawn's rules, they seem to take it as a personal insult, and really need to get a job outside of psychiatric care, because they are not suited for it. They are also discouraging when you come to make an appointment, or pick up patient assistance medications, Etc. They often don't know what they're talking about, so don't let them discourage you from what you're trying to do and insist that they pass on messages to the people and doctors you are trying to contact.
