I've been in treatment 14 years. God and Medmark gave me my life back. If you truly want to feel normal again and get your life back on track then I suggest starting treatment ASAP. I have the best councillor anybody could ever have. Sherry Barnes knows me inside and out! The reason I don't go to a clinic closer to me is because of Sherry. I have been going to this treatment center since August. In that amount of time I have seen people heal from opiate addiction to move on to healthier and better lives. I will say that the counselors at this clinic care deeply about each one of the people who walks through the door every day. If you struggle with addiction, I would suggest calling and talking to one of the counselors. Truly they care.

Broke down up here in Blairsville on our way home to Marietta. Needed to guest dose for 3 days and they ended up going above and beyond to do what they could to help us. Extremely thankful for this place. The director is definitely a lot more helpful and nice than the director at our home clinic. Definitely recommending them to anyone that needs them in this area. Joy, Shauna,and the dosing nurse are wonderful people and helped us when we needed it the most. Cant say thank you enough!!! ----Alicia and Brad----

I wish that the rest of the VA worked this well. Honestly, over half the VA works very well but this clinic is outstanding. I would recommend Dr. Scheffield to be the next Surgeon General but I wouldn't want to lose him.

Medmark has been life Saving, life changing, the staff there actually CARE about you, they want you to succeed, they are always one call away. I know that might all sound crazy, like why would they care there just for the $$, but that’s FAR from the truth. Western NC has very limited resources. There is an abundant need for many different services as more and more people are retiring in this area. This is depleting availability of people offering these service, lengthen wait time and shortening patience of those willing to serve. I had to wait 2 years to find a place that was willing to help me. I am happy to of found ACS, as they were quick to serve and help me find my path. I am now 2.5 months in and feel like I my life has improved. I did not give 5 stars as the facilities are behind, however, understand the limited resources given to services like these to improve service.

Embark has been such a great experience for both my 17 year old son and me and his father. It’s intense as it is a 3 month long residential program, but I feel like everyone at Embark really cares about making things better for young boys that are neurodivergent and have behavioral issues. The staff works really hard to help the boys develop better coping skills so that they can be successful in life. The program also helps parents by providing tools for parenting children that are atypical. I can say that our son’s counselor Kevin truly made a difference in all of our lives. Our son would agree too. The weekly parent support group was helpful in that parents can connect and realize that you’re not alone. The other staff, psychiatrist, nurses are all very communicative and committed to what they do. We as a family are in a much better place now because of Embark.

Our soon attended Embark for 90 days. During his stay he learned many skills to help him better navigate day to day life. He also learned a lot about himself, allowing him to communicate effectively about his feelings and what maybe upsetting him. It was a process - but everyone came out a better person on the other end. Great facility and a super great staff.

This is an amazing place!! These people saved my life. I’ve been to a few places before and never have I received treatment like I did at Sanctuary!! My counselor’s name was Sofia. She worked with me several times a week for a little over a month. She’s by far the best counselor I’ve ever had. She helped me work past my mother’s death and help me get to the route of my addiction issues. The staff here genuinely cares about you. They will go above and beyond. Sofia fought so hard for me in every situation, she never gave up on me. I’ve never had someone in my corner so much that wanted me to succeed in every way. Tracy my favorite tech still checks on me to this day. The facility is brand new, clean, and very nice. If you truly want to get better, this is the place to go. I’ve been home for months and I’m still doing great thanks to Sanctuary.

I would absolutely recommend the lodge to anyone who is on the fence about approaching residential treatment. When I first got here, I was terrified- I barely remember the tour, and soon after I was alone in my room, waiting for my belongings to be checked. I thought I had made a bad decision, to be honest, before my first roommate came in. I made so many friends at the lodge, everyone here is so kind and empathetic towards your struggles- including the staff! I know I probably wouldn't have and couldn't have made so much progress on my mental health journey without the lodge. Getting to see the animals, go to coffee, and participate in groups was wonderful. I hope everyone is able to get the chance to experience the lodge if they can, as it can be truly life-changing.
Thank you to the therapists there, the swing shift techs, and all the friends I met along the way. I hope everyone is able to find whimsy at the lodge, as I did.

Mt Sinai was very helpful for my family and our loved one from start to finish. The entire staff was very warm and welcoming. We have been dealing with this for almost 10 years and Mt Sinai actually addressed his underlying issues for the first time ever. Hi. I just want to say this is a great facility for detoxing and peer support. But, when I came here I was not able to receive the medication I needed when I found the one that worked. I told my doctor that the adavan the nurses were giving me worked and that I was calm and aware of my surroundings. He said to take lithium and I said No because I have been on so many drugs in the past and they did not work, that because I knew the adavan worked to give me that. I started arguing with him and then I left without any medication except for the one pill that actually worked the first night I got there. So now it's been 5 months and I still have the same underlying problems; paranoia, anxiety, negative energy, hate, anger, and pessimism. I just want the nurses and health aides to know they are very good people and do a good job and the psychiatrist is a big fat nimrod with a paper shredder degree. Thank you.

I wanted to take the time to share how appreciative I am of the staff here. Not a single person at this specific location has given me a negative experience. I switched locations from Knoxville to here about a year or so ago and it was the best decision I've made. They do have their hands full and sometimes you have to wait- but they try their hardest to get you taken care of and make a game plan for your care and goals. Because of them, I've made a lot of progress in my health. I absolutely love Brittany Ruiz and all the people who work there. Especially the front desk ladies. They are extremely helpful. It's important to always be direct and honest when you're receiving care as well and that makes a huge difference. Thank y'all for your support through all the hard times I've had!!

As a parent, I wanted to share my experience after my son recently completed a 5-month stay and successfully completed the program.
Staff (Therapists/Nurses): Overall, I’m very pleased with the support and care my son received. The staff seemed genuinely invested in his well-being, and I could see the positive impact their work had on him over time.
Areas for Improvement: My main concern as a parent was the inconsistency of our weekly family sessions, which were often rescheduled or delayed- this was due to his therapist being very busy and having heavy caseloads, which leads me to believe the facility might be understaffed or stretched too thin. Regardless of the reason, it sometimes felt like our time wasn’t prioritized or valued.
I also had some concerns about cleanliness and safety within the Village, based on my son’s feedback about the showers not being cleaned regularly and the unpredictable behavior of some of the other residents.
Despite these issues, I believe the program as a whole helped my son make real progress, and I’m grateful for the staff who cared about his growth and recovery.

My children receive services at Avita in Cleveland it's by far the best location in my opinion the front desk staff is always so engaging with my kids and the other staff is so engaging and empathetic my three favorite people in this office is the front desk, nurse, and male counselor. My daughter doesn't see him but he is always quick to check in with her about her day.

This program literally saved my life from a long road of drug and alcohol abuse. I had a rough start due to my inability to accept the true issues associated with addiction. This was in the mid-90s where the Hickey House offered me the last chance to find true recovery. Tom and Eliane were like 2nd parents in a time when addiction had kicked my butt, but with their loving and amazing ability to get at the root of addiction in a strong spiritual and professional manner. Thank GOD every day for this program and staff. I completed then a 2 year program and I can proudly attest to the effectiveness of their humanistic approach to living without drugs and alcohol. My stay at the hickey house was awesome! A very down to earth and in tune approach to recovery that gave me the chance I desperately needed to rebuild myself in an environment that was both nurturing and structured with strong basis on AA traditions and principles. The house has a great reputation in the local community and is involved in many different surrounding outside AA meetings . The part I liked most about it was the personal and accessible level staff and residents communicate . My comfort level was through the roof ,which in return allowed me to thrive in my recovery . I don't see a better place available for a person to get the tools to get sober and remain sober. I'd most definitely recommend this place to anyone who IS SERIOUS about giving their selves a chance at happiness in sobriety
