I've been in treatment 14 years. God and Medmark gave me my life back. If you truly want to feel normal again and get your life back on track then I suggest starting treatment ASAP. I have the best councillor anybody could ever have. Sherry Barnes knows me inside and out! The reason I don't go to a clinic closer to me is because of Sherry. You've got to have a councillor that you trust or your treatment could become jeopardized. So if you are ready to get your life back then I suggest Medmark and Sherry Barnes!

I have been going to this treatment center since August. In that amount of time I have seen people heal from opiate addiction to move on to healthier and better lives. I will say that the counselors at this clinic care deeply about each one of the people who walks through the door every day. If you struggle with addiction, I would suggest calling and talking to one of the counselors. Truly they care.

Broke down up here in Blairsville on our way home to Marietta. Needed to guest dose for 3 days and they ended up going above and beyond to do what they could to help us. Extremely thankful for this place. The director is definitely a lot more helpful and nice than the director at our home clinic. Definitely recommending them to anyone that needs them in this area. I wish that the rest of the VA worked this well. Honestly, over half the VA works very well but this clinic is outstanding. I would recommend Dr. Scheffield to be the next Surgeon General but I wouldn't want to lose him.

The Blairsville clinic is the BEST place to go for healthcare in Georgia! The staff is very helpful, informative and friendly. The waiting room is clean and comfortable. Western NC has very limited resources. There is an abundant need for many different services as more and more people are retiring in this area. This is depleting availability of people offering these service, lengthen wait time and shortening patience of those willing to serve. I had to wait 2 years to find a place that was willing to help me. I am happy to of found ACS, as they were quick to serve and help me find my path. I am now 2.5 months in and feel like I my life has improved. I did not give 5 stars as the facilities are behind, however, understand the limited resources given to services like these to improve service.

Embark has been such a great experience for both my 17 year old son and me and his father. It’s intense as it is a 3 month long residential program, but I feel like everyone at Embark really cares about making things better for young boys that are neurodivergent and have behavioral issues. The staff works really hard to help the boys develop better coping skills so that they can be successful in life. The program also helps parents by providing tools for parenting children that are atypical. I can say that our son’s counselor Kevin truly made a difference in all of our lives. Our son would agree too. The weekly parent support group was helpful in that parents can connect and realize that you’re not alone. The other staff, psychiatrist, nurses are all very communicative and committed to what they do. We as a family are in a much better place now because of Embark.

Our soon attended Embark for 90 days. During his stay he learned many skills to help him better navigate day to day life. He also learned a lot about himself, allowing him to communicate effectively about his feelings and what maybe upsetting him. It was a process - but everyone came out a better person on the other end. Great facility and a super great staff.

Starting my recovery at Black Bear was a wonderful decision. The staff worked hard to take good care of us, I can't say enough awesome things about them. They care about what we are going thru and they did a great job weeding out the BS and people not doing the right things. I recently attended treatment there and had a pretty good experience :) Pretty much THE entire staff was great except for my "assigned" therapist. Karen, your groups were SO helpful & I learned a lot from you. Kevin, you are a god sent. Julie, Felicia, Sean, Ms. Marie & majority of nursing...the list goes on... ❤️ Thank you guys for keeping me motivated & giving me the strength to not give up. I definitely had my highs and lows but made it through. Pretty facility with a great view. Wish there were a few more activities to do but all in all it was good. I wasn't too fond of corporate coming in and making the terminations they did especially when having so many clients present because it definitely caused us to stress more than we needed to. There's a few other things but it's probably best I don't say them here lol. All in all, I am very grateful for Harmony's help in getting me sober. Thanks guys!

Pasadena Villa saved my life. the staff are some of the most caring people I’ve ever met. I know that I have made life long friends here. there is animal assisted therapy and on Wednesday there is a coffee outing. the groups are good different topics every week and if there is the same topic it’s different every week. the meals are incredible homemade meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I can’t recommend Pasadena Villa enough. I was scared to come here but it’s changed my life.

Mt Sinai was very helpful for my family and our loved one from start to finish. The entire staff was very warm and welcoming. We have been dealing with this for almost 10 years and Mt Sinai actually addressed his underlying issues for the first time ever. Hi. I just want to say this is a great facility for detoxing and peer support. But, when I came here I was not able to receive the medication I needed when I found the one that worked. I told my doctor that the adavan the nurses were giving me worked and that I was calm and aware of my surroundings. He said to take lithium and I said No because I have been on so many drugs in the past and they did not work, that because I knew the adavan worked to give me that. I started arguing with him and then I left without any medication except for the one pill that actually worked the first night I got there. So now it's been 5 months and I still have the same underlying problems; paranoia, anxiety, negative energy, hate, anger, and pessimism. I just want the nurses and health aides to know they are very good people and do a good job and the psychiatrist is a big fat nimrod with a paper shredder degree. Thank you.

We did everything we could to help at home with individual therapies, group therapies, IOPs, CTT and so many safety plans. But the roller coaster continued. Calling the crisis line became a regular occurrence. The trips to the ER and being admitted into acute behavioral health care were part of the routine. As a parent watching your child crying out for help, but not able to reach them on any level leaves you feeling helpless, hopeless and failing as a parent.
When the decision was made that residential treatment was my child's last hope, it was a new kind of scare. There are so many horror stories of how bad facilities can be and that it did more harm than good. With the help of my child's CTT case manager, I interviewed many facilities. When I interviewed The Village, I felt at ease. The program had more than just a treatment facility feel. My child was there for 5 months. I got daily calls from my child, we had weekly family therapy sessions, regular visits (TAs), and got regular checkins from the school on how classes were going. When I had questions or concerns, the staff was very prompt in responding to me. There were times when my child would fall asleep before calling me, but I would call the nurse's line get an update and they had my child call me as soon as they were available to do so. Even though there are rules around contact, I always felt that I could reach my child.
My child got involved with volleyball while there and won a tournament receiving a medal and everything. To point my child is actively seeking out a volleyball club to join.
While my child's stay had many ups and downs, I do believe that it was the best decision. The Village provided my child a chance to practice the coping skills in real time as my child's window of tolerance was so small it was almost impossible for us to manage at home. My child still has a lot of work and progress to continue to make now at home. But for the first time in a long time I see my child having a chance of growing up to healthy functional adult.

During the admissions process I searched google far and wide hoping that I would find some actual advice other than the website and all of the vague reviews, now after receiving treatment from VBH I have decided to make this review for anyone who might be looking for advice on a long term facility such as The Village.
For starters you should know that the photos are very outdated, however as you can imagine with mental health facilities money can be kind of tight and there are other things that require attention. the facility is still nice but it's also not the Hampton's so don't walk in expecting it to be a luxury resort, it's also NOT A SUMMER CAMP!! This is something that I feel really needs to be clarified, now even though it's not a summer camp The Village offers many recreational activities that can be earned by maintaining respectful behaviors.
Despite some of the bad reviews the staff are super amazing as long as you are respectful and don't start problems. tip of advice, If you want your treatment to be short and go well don't be disrespectful and maintain good behaviors and if a peer gives you problems DO NOT MAKE IT WORSE. The food is like school lunch food it's not amazing but some of the food is good, typical food favorites consist of chicken nuggets, corn dogs, burgers, chicken tenders, ETC.
Also the first few weeks are going to be rough, mainly because your away from home and it's a huge adjustment, but if you are struggling, the village is SO worth it if you put in the effort to make it worth it!!

Good practice for general health needs. The lab is outstanding. Wait time can be longer than I like to get into see my provider due to scheduling and it some times is a wait at appt time to see your provider. I do enjoy the pleasant dispositions of everyone there. There is an after hours nurse available via phone after practice is closed that I have found invaluable. Overall, you need to try this practice. I think you will like it.

This was my first time speaking with the pharmacy Department, Julie was very very helpful and very nice, very understanding, very informative. she seemed to really care about any questions I had or any things that I didn't feel comfortable about. and she seemed to care about trying to solve any problems that I had. My children receive services at Avita in Cleveland it's by far the best location in my opinion the front desk staff is always so engaging with my kids and the other staff is so engaging and empathetic my three favorite people in this office is the front desk, nurse, and male counselor. My daughter doesn't see him but he is always quick to check in with her about her day.
