I graduated their long term rehab 3 plus years ago. So grateful for First to be there. I learned there, it was up to me. Not them. A safe area to gather and use all the tools they had for a very good outcome in sobriety and a grateful life. I kept in between the lines they presented me. Knew I was there to learn and grow and it was up to me ( not them, or anyone for that matter ), to grow. To learn. To be the me I truly wanted. Having First as my final page in rehab, after two long term others, I came out knowing I had done this for me and my appreciation and gratitude for THEM To be there is a daily thought, thanks and gratitude. I quit blaming. I began being. THANKS AGAIN MY FRIENDS AT FIRST !!! JACK L.

First @ Blue Ridge saved and changed my life! All my house managers loved me til I was able to love myself again. I was a peer leader and an auxiliary house manager during my time as a client. I graduated Feb 15, 2024 and I couldn’t have done it without all the love and support from all the staff as well as the ladies that were on my journey with me! Some of those bonds I’ll cherish forever. It’s really a great program, it works if you work it!

When I found next step recovery I was at my lowest, I had found my bottom. I had my mind made up that suicide was my only way out. Then I found next step, and my second chance at a better, clean and sober life. I've been in and out of rehabs and detoxes my whole life. But this facility was different. I was welcomed like I was family and I had come home. With the love and compassion, not judged, but given a real chance at a better life. I'm currently living in the sober living house, and unlike a lot of places. The houses are very nice, clean, and up to date homes fully furnished. The staff is excellent, and always available to help with anything I need. Today I feel like a better man, a better husband, a better father, and I owe it all to next step recovery.

I have been to both the detox and rehab side of ADACT. I had a good experience. I felt welcomed and the staff is great especially Kelly, she goes above and beyond for the patients. The doctors and therapist helped me stabilize my meds. The classes were great too i learned different ways to cope and retrain my brain to start good habits to replace the bad. As an addict I felt like I was somewhere I could relate to my issues that not everyone can understand. Coming out of a toxic marriage that led to my addiction and mental health it was good to be somewhere different and around new people to get away from my usual triggers and start to take the first step to recovery and living a healthy life. When I finished they guided me in the right direction to continue staying on track for my recovery.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Life-Changing Experience — Forever Grateful Julian F. Keith Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center was the turning point in my life. After attending five different rehabs, I arrived here in 2020 feeling lost and uncertain if lasting change was possible. But this place—this team—changed everything for me. From the moment I walked through the doors, the front office staff greeted me with kindness and dignity. The nurses were compassionate and attentive, the recovery coaches and counselors truly listened, and the education team made learning feel meaningful again. My therapist was nothing short of life-changing—she helped me dig deeper and start healing in ways I never thought possible. Even the cafeteria staff made an impact. They didn’t just serve meals—they served encouragement with every plate, and their warmth stayed with me daily. Because of Julian F. Keith, I began to believe in myself again. Today, I’m proud to say I’ve earned my associate’s and bachelor’s degrees, and I’m now finishing my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Substance Use Disorders, with a focus on trauma and gender identity. I’m also a North Carolina Board Certified Peer Support Specialist, giving back to others just like me—because someone once did the same for me here. This center helped me reimagine my future and reconnect with my purpose. I will always carry gratitude in my heart for what they gave me. I genuinely believe that without their guidance, structure, and compassion, I would not be where I am today. Thank you to every single person at Julian F. Keith. You changed my life. —Jennifer Nicole Brooks

I loved my stay here! I basically came in kicking and screaming. But I’m forever thankful for basically being forced to make this decision for my life. This place saved my life. From my over the phone intake to the moment I discharged every staff member made me feel supported and they were excited for me to take the step Forward. Let’s start with the most important piece (at least for me). THEY ALLOW YOU TO BRING YOUR PETS. There were 3 puppies there basically the whole time I was there. It was so amazing. I also heard they had a bunny there at one point. So they love Furr babies and know how important they are for us. Paula picked me up from the detox. She’s the alumni coordinator. But really she’s a fairy God Mother. She does so much for everyone there. She answered my millions of questions everyday. She was always doing something and had the answer to basically everything. Kambree, the head nurse is the bomb. She’s so funny and caring. Very helpful in every way possible. Dr. Reed was great at adjusting my medications and going over the information about them all. He’s also quite funny! Brittney is the Boss and you would never know it because she’s so humble. She would get us ice cream like every other Friday! And was easy to talk too. All the groups were amazing. I learned so much about my recovery. All the therapist were GREAT! I had Tessa and she met with me every week, some times twice a week, and was very helpful. We talked a lot about boundaries and life balance. I loved her! Mario and Joe were awesome too and so fun and funny. You should check this place out just to hear Joe read a story. The Techs were so supportive and loving. Troy, the head tech, kept it 100% real and didn’t bull shit or sugar coat shit. As addicts we need that. Tray, also a tech, the maintenance man, driver for pick ups and discharges, plus an awesome man to talk too. He did so much for us while I was there. Tanner is also one of the best techs I have ever come across. And I’ve been to quite a few rehabs. He’s so caring, so understanding, amazing to talk too, very funny, Hung out with the clients but never made anyone feel like he was above them, which gained him a lot of respect. If anyone ever needed anything he always got it taken care of in a timely manner and didn’t make you feel like a burden, or forget about what you asked. Amber and Shannon made the weekends fun for all of us. We had a water balloon fight, went hiking, played volleyball. They were also very easy to talk to and trustworthy. Caitlyn and Shandra were there my first day and really made me feel welcomed. Other staff that I want to give a shout out just for being awesome: Melissa (financial lady), Maren (discharge lady), Mandy another therapist but also another title I forget. Over all living: you get a list for groceries you get to check off what you need, live in really nice apartments 3br 2 full baths. 2 people to a room. You get your phone for an hour a day 1pm-2pm while on lunch break. That hour really saved me. Allowed me just enough contact to the outside world and allowed me to check in on my family daily. (Except weekends). Over all this place was THE SHITT!! One of the best rehabs I’ve ever been to. All the staff were amazing.clients were awesome too. I will always be so thankful for this place. If you need help and you’re near Asheville, or even if you’re not, this is the rehab to choose. I love you my CV Family!!!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My name is Kelly Bowling, and I have three years clean and sober. My recovery journey started with October Road when I entered their PHP program, which at the time was called the River House. One thing I’ve learned in recovery is that many treatment programs struggle with staffing, and people in early recovery often don’t have positive examples to look up to. That was not my experience here—far from it. I was surrounded by staff who genuinely cared and demonstrated what recovery, professionalism, and service look like every day. The BHTs, clinicians, counselors, and support staff created an environment that was both structured and supportive. Justin, Alex, Chuck, and Gray made a lasting impact on me. They treated us with dignity, held us accountable, and encouraged us to believe that a better life was possible. The community was just as important. The groups were meaningful, the other clients became a source of support, and the overall culture helped me build a strong foundation for recovery. During my time there, I served as the cook for my house and even became the barber for many of the clients. We built healthy relationships, supported one another, and enjoyed simple things like going to the river after clinical days. I continued my journey with October Road through IOP and early recovery services. Even today, I still use October Road for my medical needs. I also return from time to time to speak with clients and share my experience, strength, and hope. Today, I serve in a leadership role in recovery and reentry services with a community-based organization called Operation Gateway. The foundation for the work I do today was built at October Road. The lessons, support, and examples I received there helped shape the person and professional I have become. I have a great deal of love and respect for everyone involved with this organization. They were part of the beginning of a life-changing journey, and I will always be grateful for the role they played in my recovery.

The October Road programs are really great. Like anything there is a feeling of sudden displacement at first. They have all the tools that one would need to start and sustain being sober/recovery. I personally completed inpatient at the RiverHouse. Then I completed intensive outpatient, followed by Early recovery. The staff is very involved with the whole process, start to finish. Oh, I forgot to mention that I currently have therapist via October rd once weekly which has helped me tremendously. My overall experience was very good 👍. I just currently celebrated one year of sobriety and still going strong. Overall if one is willing and able to go through with the program it certainly gives a chance at something better. ❤️❤️❤️

I have been to three separate MAT PROGRAMS!!! CROSSROADS TREATMENT CENTER OF WEAVERVILLE NORTH CAROLINA..... Has by far been the best outpatient treatment center I have been to in 12 years I've had only two counselors!!!.. counselor I have right now I feel like I could tell her anything and be completely honest about everything with her.... This facility is very thorough and I like to say they do things by the book!! As does my counselor!!! I have finally in 20 years made it to the top and I only have to go once a month now. Of course I owe most of this to myself and finally trying and doing things right letting the system work like it's supposed to but credit is owed or credit is due and if it wasn't for my counselor being as amazing as she is I have doubts that I would be where I'm at right now at this point in my life!!! Candice my family and I would like to thank you for everything you have done for me and how you have helped me change into the man that I am today the man I'm supposed to be. I still feel exactly the same way today is I did when I originally wrote what I posted.... Crossroads Treatment Center has definitely been a key factor for why I'm still alive!! Without Crossroads Treatment Center in Weaverville, NC But it has really always been about the staff!! Without the staff that work at this Crossroads and the Amazing people That have became part of their staff recently just make this Crossroads Treatment Center Even Stronger 💪 I just feel lucky and blessed to have found these Amazing People With The Lord's Help!! Amen 🙌 I just wanted to Give A big Shout Out To All of The Staff in Weavo! My Life Has Has Been Given Back to Me! And I'm Forever Grateful 🥹🥲 Yeah The Medication Helps tremendously! But I know that it only helped me so far and then I felt and was Stuck! But it Has Been The Staff And How they make me feel like a Family Member! 🥹 Because it's not the medication that's kept me coming to the same place for several years! Thank you for never giving up on me! Thank you for making me feel like I can Accomplish Anything! And Thank You for Making Me Feel Wanted And I Feel Comfortable Enough That I Can Open Up And Talk about Whatever I Am Going through At the Time And I Never Feel Judged! The Care And The Treatment I Continue to Receive Is A Remember And Reminder That I Am So Lucky To Have Stumbled Into The Doors Of Crossroads Treatment Center In Weaverville, NC Because there's So Many People Who Wasn't Able To Get Their Life Back Like I Have. Thanks Again Sincerely, Wilbur Prentice

CooperRiis is a residential treatment program for adults with addiction and mental health disorders located in Asheville, North Carolina. It acknowledges the interconnectedness of these issues through a comprehensive approach. You’ll be expected to maintain sobriety throughout your time in this program. They cover. I wish the English would fill their mouths with fresh cotton. They force me to stay while my complaining husband finds a new partner. My English family wishes for me to live here forever thinking it is the worst place to suffer for an Irish. English family is confused thinking this is a living facility. Also, English family is confused upon return to home I am not mentally incapacitated while Irish family is forced through English control to secretly struggle to revive me. I enjoy leisurely walking through the beautiful, old neighborhood. They support my use of many options such as lavender and salt rock lamps. I appreciate the suggestion to use Lovely ginger chews candy as a couple of them fully address nausea. 🚫 😰 🪴 🪨 🚫 🤢 🫚 The staff help. I hate they poke me. After my experience, I am advised and move back to my hometown. My experience is partially due to a young marriage. 🚫 💉 🚫 🩸 🏡 Their on site art and engagement activities encourage and make me realize the importance of finding a fun toy or new interesting art activity. I start my paint by numbers. So far, some of the activities I have found to be enjoyable and beneficial are crochet, mixing play dough, a super squish fidget toy, magnetic putty for modeling, and a kaleidoscope to start to name a few. They teach me how to clear computer clutter including social media. 🪀 🪁 🧸 💦❔ 🧸 🛏️ ⁉️ 🥼🚫☠️❗️⚰️ 🥘 🖼️ 🚶‍♀️ 💊❗️🛏️🙅‍♀️💊 ‼️🚫💤‼️🛏️‼️🚕🏥💊💊🖼️🚫‼️🛏️‼️💤🚕🙅‍♀️❗️🛏️❗️🤷🏼‍♀️💊❕ I really enjoy some of their meals. Their grits have great toppings, their egg frittata is delicious, their fluffy biscuit goes well with cinnamon butter, and meatballs have great flavor with wonderful sides. Their greens are amazing. I wish more clients would look to gain missing ancestry knowledge. I miss the puzzle time. 🧩 They help me decided I need to just do a tiny little bit of school on the side. I take classes on curing skitzophenia and learn information such as staying away from orange juice which is full of sugar. Once in a while for special occasion a healthy soda is a special treat. Unfortunately, my English family is not able to support my health education. This information is part of my self care. I am glad I have the educational steps so I do not need to visit again. My family chooses not to support my betterment. My English aristocracy family chooses not to listen, they care about their wealth, and like to move me. They help professional identify and educate me on my divergent thinking which is caused by both my English and Irish ancestries. To address divergent thinking, they provide hard suggestions to continually study, work through, practice, and reflect on regarding more consideration of how to relate and figuring out what strategies are effective in building healthy relationship. I am good at working through a professional organization chart to help identify and assess past healthy social interaction. At the end, I am able to assess my slight adjustments to make the good situations more safe and healthy. After a doctor visit in high school, I am scarily concerned I have a related cancer. They thankfully and very smartly professionally address in my late 20s I personally progress to dealing with slight skitzophenia and provide education steps to move forward focusing on really strict healthy eating. They thankfully address my eating issue after I temporarily have not been able to eat what I need to. I love their food medicine. Unfortunately, my home community still chooses to be reluctant in providing my prescribed medicine. My community does not support my personal recommendation from Dr. Josh Axe. I am thankful this extra knowledge shares with my community underlying issue I address. I wish everyone visited the psychiatrist.

CooperRiis at Asheville Review I remember my three months in the summer of 2023, at CooperRiis at Asheville, quite fondly.  I was stabilized for a couple of years after that.  My only regret was not being able to stay in the program longer. I really credit the staff for their major role in stabilizing me, helping me adjust, and keeping me safe during those three months.  The staff saw me at my worst and at my best.  Somehow, they were able to help me reach a stable ground of somewhere in-between, of just being “fine”.  I really credit the special relationships I forged with the staff during that time period.  The staff kept me safe in times of manic periods, and kept me safe overall.  The staff got me thinking about Recovery and got me thinking about being well at home. I was able to receive extra counseling while I was there on Sundays, and sometimes during the week, which was so desperately needed.  I really credit Residential Evening for keeping me steady during my downtime.  The individual counseling sessions with my Team were also really helpful, as well as was Family Therapy.  The groups during the day were beneficial, too, and really added longer-term therapy and coping mechanisms to my stay. I would recommend that you stay at CooperRiis for as long as possible and go through Levels A, B, and C if you can.  This is the single, best, most important financial decision you will make for your mental health. CooperRiis takes a holistic approach, which was new and different for me.  But I benefitted greatly from this approach.  The delicious  (and new to me) Mediterranean Diet did wonders for my body for three months and taught me a lot about nutrition for mental health. Upon my return home, I was able to receive extra monthly support from the CooperRiis family education program, on a variety of interesting topics.  I also am able to keep in touch with the alumni contact person every so often.  I’ll continue to keep in touch with CooperRiis.  It was the best financial decision I ever made for myself. The staff are great, wonderful, patient people who are highly-qualified to do this job.  The staff at CooperRiis at Asheville really helps you with the road of recovery and a long-term period of stabilization.  I really miss all of the staff who were there during the Summer of 2023.  I think of you all, and Asheville, often, and remember what I have learned there.  Thank you for helping me during that time period of my life. I highly recommend CooperRiis at Asheville.

Be aware there are a lot of rules and you are punished if you break the rules. With that being said it’s a structured environment that does provide good therapy. There can be some toxicity amongst other patients so it’s best to not let that get to you and your recovery. I had a necklace that I left there for over a year that was for my great grandfather who fought in World war 2. Somehow someway I called them on a whim and they had the necklace and they sent it to me!! This was such a big deal to me and they took such care and making sure they didn’t lose the item. Of course if it was a two toothpaste it would’ve been gone. Now I’m in college and I’m two weeks away from my first study abroad trip to Argentina to study Spanish in my life makes sense. Thank you to all the therapists who helped me there and thank you to the team members who help deliver me my antique necklace.

I've been an avid golfer since the mid '90s and was born and raised in Hendo Co. Masters Sunday of 2026 was my first time playing HCC, ever!! Thanks to my new buddy that brought me out as a guest! Ol' Donnie Ross will get you with those domed greens of death, but they were rolling so smooth and true! Keep it in play and pay attention around the greens and you'll have a wonderful day! Staff and other members were great, hospitable and I can't wait to get back out there!! Thanks JB!!

This place helped me out a lot. I struggle from type 2 bipolar disorder and they really sat down and try to understand what I was going through. I also have a lot of trauma and they sat down with me and try to help me deal with it. The doctor is really nice. Same with my nurses. Everyone was so understanding and this place has helped me with my suicidal ideations

My wife has Alzheimer's/FTD/PPA and was moved here from her memory care facility to get a medication adjustment and re-placement into another facility. She was always treated respectfully and was clean and comfortable. The staff always genuinely cared for my wife. She was there 4 weeks and is adjusting well to her new facility.
