Sanctuary was very beneficial to my recovery process. There were a few standout employees (Candace, Kevin, Desiree, Chiara) who had sincere compassion and care for what I was going through. There was a sense of community there and always someone to talk too, you never felt alone.

Life changing if experience. I love the staff. Food was (bustin) for those who don’t know that means really good. I caught over a 100 fish, I had the time of my life, I laughed harder than I have in years. All around great experience. I recommend this place to anyone. If you don’t have insurance call marketplace right now you will be insured in 15 mins. Then call mirror lake they will have you a bed maybe even the same day. I came here very skeptical. It wasn’t my idea, and I was expecting to just endure my time here. What happened instead was actually life-changing. I expected a cold, clinical, psychiatric rehab setting. But Discovery Place is a homey, comfortable, community based retreat. Every single staff member has walked through the doors looking for help, and been through the program themselves. And it shows in their compassion and understanding.
What surprised me the most was the sense of community. Every Friday, former guests come out for Family Night and that’s when I started to realize it’s more than just a program, it’s an ongoing fellowship of recovery. This is a place to truly retreat, learn about and the 12 steps, learn about yourself, and foster a spiritual experience.
My outlook on life has completely changed. Looking back now, with the way I had been thinking and living, I can’t imagine finding real sobriety let alone happiness without a place like this, and I’m deeply grateful for that.
