This place is both good and bad. Before I start writing my experiences I will say I gave it my all and I came to realize that you only get out what you put in. Sure did I experience microaggressions in the deep south as a Latina yes, but I also experienced good people who truly are committed to making our experiences the best they could.
Your phone and laptop will be taken from you , they also take away hair gels, and other stuff that to some may seem minor but when your used to being on your phone all day everyday like me it is very frustrating. I will say after 8 days without a phone, I almost didn't care because I met so many great people here. I'm used to people being closed off and cold, but I will say here people will make their way to getting to know you which I found very new but refreshing. The first few days was tough adjusting to the rules, and almost everything is locked so it is rough. In spite of all the challenges I really came to enjoy it my last week there. I loved the different events they had like Karaoke Thursdays, Memorial day barbeque pit, Yoga at the mods on wednesdays(which I loved) and just all the fun events that make you feel connected and involved. I hated the first week but the third week I was crying that i had to leave . If it wasn't for my insurance I would stay there now. I loved my therapist Dan, he was very smart and really knows what he was talking about. You can tell he really puts forth the effort and really cares about his students. Audra was nice and pretty, she was sweet and you can tell she really cares as well. The nurses were a mixture of both good and bad. The case manager Maria was super friendly and came on Sundays for extra assistance. She really made my experience smooth and provided after care and psychiatrists number for when I returned back home. And I cant forget Heather who made my experience very good when I was at detox. I was scared and lost and she came and helped me when I needed someone the most. That meant alot. Thankyou Heather - you wont ever be forgotten...
The facility is more centered around substance abuse, but they do have mental illness topics. I learned so much here. If you do the work, and really put in the effort you will get out more than expected. I will say the Techs were not that friendly as I also read from other reviews that they weren't of great assistance. In spite of the challenges, I really recommend this place. at the end I met some life long friends that I will stay connected to forever!!!!

I came here in my time of need. At one of the lowest points in my life. I was met with understanding, caring, helpful, and genuinely concerned staff. They gave me more than the benefit of the doubt as I was not a pleasant person to be around when I got here to say the least. They listened to me, my concerns, my problems, and my health was all taken very seriously and the staff was great in all aspects of care. I recommend this facility for anyone having mental health or substance abuse issues. They certainly exceeded my expectations and I leave here with a plethora of skills that will help me moving future, as well as having received the therapy and treatment I needed. Thank you all at Twelve Oaks!

Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System – Joint Ambulatory Care Center in Pensacola, Florida, offers primary care, laboratory services and mental healthcare. Their mental health services are provided in an outpatient setting and aim to help those who serve to lead fulfilling lives and achieve long-term stability. The facility can help you recover | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Considering the patient to Doctor ratio is ten times what it should be, I think this clinic does well. I have one critique. Remove the soil from the water fountains at the main entrance. The appearance is a disgrace. Either use the fountain as intended or destroy it. Fountains that are filled with dirt implies our country can't afford to run a fountain. If this perception is correct, one has to wonder about the quality of care given inside.

I was the last person in the whole building, Dr was incompetent, I received no help at all despite the fact that I had the DR herself crying about my situation (I was in a homeless shelter at the time and had lost my cat). I hate this place. I have a broken hip for almost a year and I get nothing for it? Yeah, no.

I’ve had a pleasant experience with this VA clinic. This is the first time I’ve actually felt heard and cared about and I’ve been ordered actual tests and labs to find out the underlying cause to my condition vs just slapping a generic label on it and managing symptoms. I can’t thank my primary care doctor enough and big shout out to the gastrointestinal team too! I’m sure everyone doesn’t have the same experience but I’ve felt nothing but kindness and care here

Ive been a patient here for over a year now and I believe the staff that works here has a true heart to serve others in maintaining stability of mental health. Dr April is thorough with questions she has asked me to be sure my medication was correct. I say this, bc I have seen significant improvement in consistency in all areas of my life. Also, she isn’t just a doctor handing out meds at random- like I’ve experienced in another state When I was prescribed two separate addictions unaware of what those meds would do at the time. I feel a sense of security and confidence coming here! The nurses were really helpful when I had a blood pressure issue, the front desk assistance is on it, and the pharmacy is SO MUCH MORE feasible that I am able to AFFORD my meds!

I’ve been a patient at The Bridgeway Center off and on my entire life. The work they do is truly remarkable and life changing. When I first came to the Crestview location I was very lost, broken and struggling with day to day tasks, paired with April and Marty as my team I’ve bought my first vehicle and gotten job opportunities that before would’ve never been possible, I have a love for life and mental clarity I’ve never experienced before. I’m truly the happiest I’ve ever been. Every single employee at Bridgeway cares about people , sees you as a person and is a “come as you are” type of environment! Therapy, Medication services and the Genoa pharmacy have changed my life and I would recommend to anyone looking for help with their mental health. This is a safe space for all with very trustworthy and professional staff.

Revision!
After calming down I’m choosing to redo my review. The lackadaisical efforts of one shouldn’t reflect on the entirety of this place. Fact is this place has changed my life in a short time for the better. The medical staff is top shelf, nurses at the windows are great. The problem I had was that since starting this program I’ve done everything text book as im asked when I’m asked. They were short staffed due to vacation time, sick time, and in the process of hiring more staff. So I checked in with a wait time of 40 minutes 7:00 A.M. I was flagged. So I did exactly what i was told to do in the last class I attended “take homes” and I emailed my counselor 7:17 a.m. asking her to remove the flag so I could dose and I would make out 8:45 meeting. 8:42 am I get called to the window 1 hr and 42 min after arrivel. Window nurse says I still have my flags. I got to my 8:45 am meeting. 8:57 am door opens. I told my counselor what happened and i could only do my treatment plan if I could go from that to the dosing window immediately after because I would be late to work. I was late the day before because for the same issues with staffing I was here 2.5 hours. She said she couldn’t do that. When I’ve seen people walked to the front of the line by a counselor to dose for reasons out of their control causing them to miss their dose spot in line. I’ve since requested a counselor change and chose to stay here. One major reason is Ms Joy helping me out and showing me the proper channels to navigate through my mishap in a calm and courteous way.

This place is garbage! Everybody’s gotta go by the rules but the counselors. Be prepared to wait 2.5-3 hours every day no matter what!

I cannot believe it has taken me this long to leave a review for my beautiful people at GBR (they know me well, unfortunately but also fortunately- for I don't know where I would be without them). This is a trustworthy establishment that will take care of you the very best they can. You have to do your part and trust the process. Between Dr. E, Heather (admissions), and the amazing nursing staff- Mandie, Nicole, Monica, Patrick. The incredible support staff- (hey Paige! Alyssa! All my other loves!), they have all held my hands through extremely tough times and gotten me to the other side. My gratitude is endless for the angels that work there- and I am aware I didn't mention them all. But I certainly love them all.
There is so much compassion and love in this beautiful facility, from the therapists, counselors, nursing staff, support staff, to the amazing chefs Sean and Karen. Food is AMAZING and plentiful.
I miss sitting outside looking at the pelicans, swimming in the pool, sunning, reading, healing. No one ever wants to end up in this sort of facility, but if you have to, I *highly* recommend GBR. You'll enjoy it more than you'd expect and create a whole new two sets of families- between staff and your fellow residents (guests).
Few bonuses- treadmills and exercise equipment, pool table, a dock to fish from, a pool to cleanse your soul in after the sauna, super sweet people who will change your life, and again- amazing food.
Forever grateful for you GBR! Thank you for all you have done for me.

I transferred around Fl quite a bit the last couple of yesrs and the panhandle area is without a doubt the most in need of quality MAT. THE ONE IN Panama city is the worst, long lines no phasing past 6 and you are treated like a criminal. Bei.g a phase 27 that was out of the question for me so I enrolled here. The people were great, the clinic was efficient clean and friendly my issues were that it was over 200 miles round trip and the biggest they stand there and watch you pee. I have shy bladder and was to the point of having to use a catheter because it was taking an hour or more to do a urine sample.
I transferred to Tallahassee clinic the drive was a little shorter but they just pat you down before a urine test so that made it way easier BUT the Tallahassee clinic has huge turnover and currently just 2 councelors, they are more interested in squeezing money than helping even at phase 27 they want you to attend 2 groups a month, 4 so called physicals a year and so on...dont get me wrong, the counselors are good and want to help but it is obvious that they have thier hands tied by corporate.
If lakeview could use cameras pat downs or anything other than the stand and stare method for tests i would transfer bsck despite the extra drive...yall PLEASE give that some thought i know I speak for others ss well...you have a really good clinic with really good people you shouldnt abuse patients and staff with this archaic practice.

This is a really good place if you are serious about wanting to recover. There is a lot of freedom In this program seeings you can leave everyday to work so I would say that this is not the best choice of program if you are coming straight off of the drugs you should pry go to a higher level of care first then here. I had a wonderful stay the last 4 days. Even though I was under a baker act, I embraced the process. I had the most amazing, I call them angels, that helped me. First off I can't say enough good things about Ms Candy.sp She was my tech over the weekend. This woman is doing the lords work. She runs a tight ship but knows how to treat each patient. She is humble and kind. Treats us like people that just might be going through it. She takes no bullship tho. I noticed a patient act so different on her day off. She is an asset to Baptist, give that woman a raise she totally deserves it. My nurses Amanda and Curtis OMG couldn't have asked for a better team of people treating me. Amanda has so much compassion, Curtis is so on point and makes sure his people are number 1 to him. Ms Nida and Ms Michelle I just adore. They are so OG and make us feel like we can ask them for anything big or small and be heard. Hopefully I wont see these wonderful humans again. But if i do, I know im going to be well taken care of.

My daughter was inpatient here during a mental health crisis. She has struggled since about the age of 12 and has been hospitalized numerous times in various facilities (various states)- she is now an adult. Her diagnosis are complex and treatment resistant (for the most part). Her stay here was beneficial with therapist, physicians, and most all providers showing care and empathy. Jenna (the charge nurse I believe), my daughter spoke very fondly of. She showed great care towards all the patients. Addy (sp), a mental health tech was also awesome. My daughter also mentioned Ryan was very kind - and listened. These traits are so important in all aspects of healthcare.
There was one issue with a tech working mornings on March 11th in the adult 2 area. This tech had a very rude and almost had a combative attitude. It has no place in this setting. She was a heavier set african american woman with short hair (she did not catch her name)- she was not kind, she was loud, and barked orders as if it were a prison (daughters perception, she has never been arrested). At one point, my daughter said the tech had accosted a patient about using the phone during group and a therapist (I believe she said) had to intervene and tell the tech she allowed it and to back off (basically - stop that behavior). This was the only person my daughter said had a bad attitude. I would hope it was a bad day, because the description of her behavior went beyond what I call clinical efficiency where providers work fast, efficiently - and without thought of emotions. BLUF - this wasn't someone who was not just nice, she came across as unkind - which is different.
I was able to observe a smaller african american female tech (I did not catch her name) interacting with patients and who was very sweet on my visit. She directed me to the enclosed nurses station for help with a question. My interactions were brief, but the facility was clean - orderly, very good as far as inpatient mental health facilities go. All in all, everyone (except the one tech) was kind and helpful - and this is how helping those with mental health issues should be. The psychiatrist my daughter saw even spoke to my daughter about why she should stop smoking/vaping - which I appreciated. They provided her with nicotine gum prescription and resources to try to quit. While she has not quit, she did pick up the nicotine gum and said she will try to pull back and reduce her smoking a little at a time. This was a win - small changes.
Overall, my hope is that the one woman (angry tech) was having a bad day, but even still, kindness and empathy for others is paramount in healthcare. People are never in a hospital because they are functioning efficiently or optimally - be it physical or mental. Thank you to all the staff! My family is very grateful and IF something else happens, we know where to turn.

I had to go through the SAP program to return to work. I was in a time crunch due to some other things going on. She got me in, same day, and was the absolute best I could have asked for.
If you’re doing the sap program, I highly recommend Ms. Dawson. She was down to earth. Extremely normal, not what you’d expect from a Psychiatrist. (At least for me) 🧐😁

My Son came back to us a Responsible, Christian Man. Able to stand on his own and pay his own bills for the first time in Many years. I Truly Know With All My Heart That AA&TC Saved My Son's Life! I will be eternally grateful for all the hard work they invested in my Son. I know he is in God's hands and I know he is a Christian. Everything about him changed for the better. Money could not buy the Blessings we have received or the life that was Saved! It was hard for us all to let go and let God, but that is exactly what had to happen to save my son's life. AA&TC knew exactly what he needed and what we needed as his family. If your son needs saving and you have realized that You can't save him. Call AA&TC because they can help him have a New Life! Promise. Thank You Bay Minette, AA&TC, and Pastor Kieth for the Miracle you gave us!

I just want to say that God and this program saved my sons life. He was headed down a very dark path of addiction and depression. I have prayed for YEARS for him to be free of his addiction. But I wasn’t giving God enough credit, so that’s when He showed me how big and strong He is. Not only did He help my son break free from his addictions, He saved him. My son now has a personal relationship with God. Prior to this my son even told me he wasn’t sure there WAS a God. He has now completed his year there, and not only did he get saved and baptized (his choice...not a requirement or demand) he has chosen to stay and become an intern to help others with the same issues. He has done some public speaking, giving his testimony (which is amazing considering the things he did...also amazing he lived through it). I always told him that God had plans for him bigger than he could imagine. I’m here to tell you PRAYERS WORK! But I only prayed for his freedom from addictions. Not only did God do that, he went a step further and convicted him of listening to degrading rap music and gave him a voice to use to tell of His mercy that is freely given for all of us. He feels led to help others in similar situations. Praise and Glory to Him!! No, this is not “forced religion” as the previous review suggested. This is a program that tells you that God loves each and every one of us the same and wants us to come to the altar and ask for His help. He loves us so much that He gave His Only begotten son to save each and every one of us. I thank God for this wonderful program!! Instead of celebrating my sons graduation and promotion to internship, I could easily have been burying him had it not been for this program and Gods mercy.
