I did not think i had a problem and did not want to be here. I needed to be at 12 Oaks. They really got to the core issue in my life that caused me pain and taught me ways to manage and cope with the anger and hurt i had. This place really changed me for the better. Through one on one therapy, class time and even through other clients, i learned the real me. This place is phenomenal!!! Thank you to the Counselors, Nurses and the techs, much love

I just want to share my personal experience while recently attending a Family Weekend Workshop. I want to sing the praises of the providers who facilitated this workshop. From the initial gatherings, information sharing and tour on Friday, everything felt seemless. The staff were so warm and welcoming, I felt instantly at ease . Gulf Breeze Recovery is a beautiful facility and it is obvious that great care is taken to maintain it. Shay is a natural leader, speaker and was always equipped with more than enough information for any and all questions . Her sense of humor was so appreciated and I’m thinking it is probably legendary.😁 Heather has the confidant presence and answers at the ready to instill a sense of “ all is well here, as well as making sure everyone was informed and comfortable along the way. Everyone seemed fine changing hats and doing whatever was necessary to make sure everything rolled out well. Of course I am a big fan of Dr. E and it makes it hard to be objective but I felt also that he made everyone feel so comfortable and broke down the information given in a way that we could understand easily. I personally found the entire weekend very helpful and interesting. Of course, having a loved one of ours in your care made it particularly special. Thank you to Shay’s husband who made sure Shay had everything that was needed and was able to laugh at himself on occasion when Shay threw him under the bus . ( In a kind way of course :) The fact that you all care enough to do this on a weekend says everything we need to know about the care extended to our loved ones while recovering in your care and I am grateful. My loved one just completed a 60 day program at Gulf Breeze Recovery, in Gulf Breeze Florida, and the experience was beyond our expectations. The setting and accommodations are beautiful. The food is healthy and prepared by professional chefs. The staff is amazing and knowledgeable about all kinds of substance abuse. The intake specialist is extremely helpful and goes out of her way to assist. The family is treated with dignity and invited to be involved with their loved one while there. Our loved one expressed gratitude for what the entire staff did to help him in his recovery. He has expressed much gratitude for having the experience and privilege to have been at Gulf Breeze Recovery. Many thanks to all there. Thank you to everyone.

I cannot speak to the effectiveness of the program because my son was unable to complete it due to a health crisis. However, I can speak to the kindness, patience, flexibility, and overwhelming desire of the entire staff to help my son through a very difficult situation. At every hurdle they were willing to work with us to find a resolution. Shelly, Monica, Nicole and MANY others went above and beyond in supporting us. For that reason alone I would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone needing care and compassion for a loved one

Unfortunately I've had to use many different mental health providers over the course of 58 years and bridgeway center is hands down the best one I've ever experienced!. Kind, caring, compassionate and professional. I would highly recommend bridgeway to anyone needing mental health support. They treat you like a person instead of a mental illness if that makes sense to anyone!! Do yourself a favor and go see them cause you won't feel one bit of stigma. Thanks bridgeway!!

I don’t know why the VA gets such bad reviews. I’ve met the nicest people in Alpha, Bravo, Kilo, Pharmacy and Labs… if anything I’ve witness so much verbal abuse coming from patients to the staff. Rated young, maybe I just haven’t become that bored and grouchy yet. I’m very pleased with each department and all my doctors.

I have been a patient of your facility for over 5 years. I'll be the first to admit that this place has saved my life. One thing I have noticed though is that there is a great number of overturned when it comes to your counselors. I personally have had over nine counselors since I've been coming to the clinic. A lot of them have been good. A few not so good. But I have to say that the counselor that I currently have is by far the best that I've ever had. Her compassion and sincerity became apparent to me within the first few minutes that I met her. Her advice and counseling has been instrumental in keeping me on an even keel when it comes to my recovery. The counselor that I speak of is Breez Ann Brownell. If anyone in your facility deserves a commendation it would be most certainly her. Thank you and keep up the good work.

This place saved my life! My counselor is BreezeAnn and she has been my anchor. I actually look forward to talking to her in my counseling sessions! I feel really blessed to have her. I went through 3 counselors over a 12 month period. They kept quitting. Then when I lucked out and got BreezeAnn I saw how beneficial it is to have someone who listens with an unbiased ear and offers realistic explanations and advice. If you need help getting off of opiates you should call!

I have actually worked at different VA hospitals and clinics over the years helping take care of veterans, but this is the first time I have gotten to experience the VA as a patient. With my experience within the VA Healthcare System, I know there are good facilities, and some bad ones. The clinic in Monroeville is exceptional! The people within the VA clinics are what makes them or breaks them. I went there in 2020 for a few weeks. it was a really good program, I was not ready for help though. If you are not ready to get help, it rarely ever works. So I came up with every excuse why I should leave. But the staff, counselors, food and everything else I highly recommend.

When compared to other places this one is good. So far very decent with minor faults. For example, after we pass front desk and go to the back we then gotta back again to front desk to do various things that could have been brought up before going to the back. I noticed, has happened to many not only me. The people there have common sense unlike other places as far as my experience.

I Have to say thank you to the behavior techs and supervisors who put in the work to keep me and others safe. The problems I've had here include many things breaking, uncleanliness (a staff forced me and another client to clean a day room that had not been cleaned in what looked like months if not a year.), staff using point sheets as a weapon to make kids scared, some of the staff are just downright petty. I can't say I wasn't helped, The clinical director (Scott Smales) Was so so helpful and helped sort a lot of problems. Behavior tech just don't care a lot along with some supervisors. Thank you to the ones who did do the work they were supposed to and thank you to the interns and my therapist for making my stay somewhat less scary.

When you struggle with something that inhibits your functioning, doing things like moving appointments, fixing insurance and other logistics stuff is harder and your instinct is usually to avoid, but having someone who will be patient and walk you through your options and give you all the information you need to navigate a system easily makes SUCH a difference. It truly changes the trajectory of your entire day and experience. I am very grateful to Amber; her patience and help definitely helped retain me as a client. In a situation like this I really do feel a lot of people quit seeing professionals or having their medication refilled, etc. because of the administrative hurdles and I just don't want to understate how impactful it really is to have someone help you. I was going to cancel my appointment bc it was overwhelming and now I'll be able to keep my appointment and continue my medication without further interruption - something so seemingly small really does change people's lives. I would like to thank Bayview Fairhope staff members Ms. Margaret Hayes, Ms. Margaret Watts and as well as Ms. Deborah Fountain (Medical Release) for their assistance last week. I was in dire strait and needed somethings taken care of ASAP. I had been speaking with Ms. Watts during that week so she was aware of my urgency. She went above her duties and placed me in direct contact with Ms. Hayes. Ms. Hayes explained what I needed to do and I did it. She spent her lunch break assisting me. With the attitude of "happy to help". I am so grateful for these two ladies. I contacted Medical Release that same week with Ms. Fountain answering. I explained my situation to her. Again, without any hesitation she was happy to help. She said she was working on my information and was about to contact me. She took care of my concerns with "I'm happy to help" attitude. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Mrs. Liz. She has been such an incredible therapist for my son, Oliver, and has helped him through so much. She has a gift for making him feel safe, comfortable, heard, and understood, and watching the trust he has developed with her means more to me than I can put into words. But what makes Mrs. Liz especially incredible is that her support doesn’t stop with Oliver. She has helped me tremendously as his mom, too. She doesn’t just tell me what we’re working on, she gives me actual words and phrases to use, ideas to try, different ways to approach situations, and practical tools that I can take home and use in our everyday lives. She helps me understand what Oliver may be feeling or needing and gives me ways to better support him through it. She is also always full of encouragement, which sometimes is exactly what a parent needs to hear. The things she has taught both of us have carried far beyond the therapy room. We’ve been able to take what we learn from her and incorporate it into our life at home, and it has genuinely made such a difference for our family. I am incredibly thankful for her knowledge, patience, encouragement, and the way she cares for not only my child, but for me as his parent as well. And Mrs. Phyllis and Mrs. Gigi at check-in and check-out are just as wonderful. Their smiles and positive attitudes are there every single time we walk through the door. They always seem genuinely happy to see Oliver, and he is always happy and comfortable going there. That kind of warmth and consistency means so much, especially when it’s a place your child visits regularly. The facility is always clean, neat, welcoming, and comfortable, but it’s truly the people who make this place so special. When you’re trusting someone to help your child navigate big feelings, challenges, and important stages of their development, having a team that truly cares about your child and supports you as a parent is invaluable. Mrs. Liz and this entire team have made such a positive impact on our lives. I can honestly say that the support, tools, encouragement, and care we’ve received here have been transformative for our family. I am beyond thankful for all of them and for the difference they have made in both Oliver’s life and mine. We absolutely love them and could not recommend them more highly!

I have been going here since I was 20 and vouching for my autism diagnosis. They have helped with managing my anxiety and depression that stem from the final diagnosis, as well as my ADHD. My chart ended up getting messed up sometime late last year and I didn’t have insurance, either. I was able to be seen in a timely manner and redo my intake. Fawn at the Fairhope office was such a sweetheart and helped me redo everything, and thankfully, some of my last chart had been saved and recovered. She was with me all the way in explaining the issue and helped me with the updated process. Much love to the Fairhope staff and excited to start my mental health journey with a new outlook and a clean slate.

I called the patient billing department of the hospital to inquire about the status of my current hospital bills. I spoke at length with Elisabeth Wood who is very knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and kind. I can not express how thankful I am for the pediatric department at Thomas Hospital, especially Dr. Jennifer Kirk & Dr. Colin Buckley. Both doctors, nurses & staff were all incredibly caring, professional, kind & patient with our needs & questions. Thought I would hop on here a leave a GOOD review for those who are concerned about admitting family or friends as I was. My mother was admitted for 10 days (released in 5) I asked her about her experience there and she had nothing but GOOD things to say. Everyone/staff were very helpful. Everything was clean and tidy. 3 good, healthy meals daily (i.e. pancakes, sausage, syrup, baked fish over rice with mixed vegatbles). Snacks twice a day. She was able to use the phone any time during hours. They went outside twice a day to do group therapy. There is a dayroom with t.v. with games/colors/drawing. She said she needed to be there and it really helped her. From my side, my mother suffers from bipolar schizophrenia and after several weeks of trying to help her we could not and she walked in during a complete mental breakdown. She could not communicate with me well, and could not distinguish fiction from reality when we decided to admit her. She was back on track in 5 days and has been recovering well at home with me ever since. They listened to her and sorted her medications back out. We were so grateful. My brother loved both Eastpointe and the staff.

Leaving a review on purely the juvenile side. Firstly it does offer benefits and the staff do try to help you out to the extent of their ability to, though the amount of care or help you get is Highly dependent on what staff is working in your unit on that specific day so at times its iffy to say the least, they do offer schooling Wich is a plus. Laundry is done for you if you set it within a laundry basket at the end of the day Wich is also great as well as 3 meals Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner. and 3 snacks a day. You usually get put in a room with a roommate but if your a no roommate person (The reason you sent there usually) Decides if you are an no roommate person and not allowed to have one. Things this place needs... Firstly some roommates are disgusting and cant clean up after themselves and it unhygienic would be nice to have someone clean it out. Secondly more availability to people who CAN change things for example, medicine,room,portions of food. all of that and get your stuff brought in approved... because doctors are only available at certain times and you cant just sit down and talk when you want Wich kinda sucks but I do understand they have stuff to do. Thirdly from a patient perspective it seems sorta-kinda understaffed and like their underpaid sometimes by the way some staff just don't care.. you ask them for something and their dismissive or tell you to shut up. All and all if some issues are fixed and certain things are improved upon this could help more people in the future, I hope this review is taken into consideration and maybe things could be changed? like reviewing staff behavior towards the youth side. Coming here was lowkey terrifying at first, but wow it flipped my whole mindset. The structure?? So real. I needed that. People actually cared, and the focus on owning your choices hit hard. I do wish there were more folks my age, 'cause being the youngest kinda sucked sometimes. Still, it legit helped me find myself again and made me believe I could survive college without the chaos.

I struggled with addiction and alcoholism for more than half of my life and have been to the point of no return it seemed. They really helped me to learn to control my emotions and cope with my triggers. The staff is awesome and very helpful as well as the counselors! This place is like everywhere else in the sense that if you don't want help, you're going to fail! So don't come here if you can't commit to helping yourself. I recommend this place to anyone who is serious about getting help! 5 stars from me!

This is a really good place if you are serious about wanting to recover. There is a lot of freedom In this program seeings you can leave everyday to work so I would say that this is not the best choice of program if you are coming straight off of the drugs you should pry go to a higher level of care first then here. When your on campus it is pretty structured not a lot of free time they definitely don’t just want your money as others have said they Hardily take anything that compare to the services and food and shelter they provide speaking of witch there is an amazing cook there Mike he prepares all the food which is of 5 star quality a lot of variety and always good. Staff really cares for you here they want to see you succeed really it all depends on what attitude you bring to the table that determines how sussceful and good your stay here will be. Thank you to all the staff for everything y’all do.

The Avalon Center staff have been an immense help in navigating my road to better mental health. I was diagnosed with bipolar I disorder last year and these folks have done everything they can to give me the best care possible. I was without insurance for months and they were able to help me apply for patient assistance so that I could get my necessary monthly injection that was prohibitively expensive without insurance. My provider and case manager are both amazing. The staff up front as well. I couldn't be happier with my choice to go with the Avalon Center during this difficult time in my life.

I avoided AltaPointe for YEARS because of the unfair stigma surrounding community & state-funded mental health providers. I assumed low standards, but after completing my first month of weekly sessions, I'm absolutely blown away. From day 1, the experience has been warm & welcoming. The providers have this incredibly calm, grounding energy, & they focus on empowering you to help yourself. I see Grace, & she is truly phenomenal. She listens deeply & provides meaningful direction & support. For the 1st time in a very long time, I'm learning effective coping skills & emotional regulation strategies which I've struggled with for years. I was so incredibly impressed after my 1st session that I immediately texted my closest friend & told her to schedule an appointment ASAP! Because yes, 10/10 would HIGHLY RECOMMEND! As a special needs mom, my life is centered around providing care for someone else. I love being that person for my son, but it's been an absolute game-changer to have 1 entire hour every week where the focus is entirely on my own health & my needs. If you're hesitating to make the call for ANY reason, I urge you to take the risk because it's so very worth it! I'm so glad I finally gave it a shot, & I'm incredibly grateful to have this amazing resource right here in our community. Highly recommend!

Our son had been fighting with an addiction for 4 months when we found out, in an attempt to help him we took him to 2 different centers, the difference was huge, at the behavioral medicine center of baptist we met the most caring people in the world. They understood our situation and because of their experience were able to get us calmed and assured our son improvement in no time. Since this is such a complicate and sensitive matter it was of crucial importance the attitudes the hospital staff showed with us. 10/10.
