He was more concerned about finding out the truth and getting to the root of the problem than anything else. He wasn't trying to push medication on me or bill the insurance. As the legal guardian of my adult daughter, it has been difficult finding the right help that i am comfortable with to help her on her road to recovery but my recent experience with Ridgeview institute Monroe has been a positive one. I spoke with several behavioral therapists to get an update on my daughter, and they were all very professional, but Coresa Thomas took her duty of care to a higher level that I did not expect. She literally went above and beyond what I think is normal considering her workload to explore every possible resource and placement option for my daughter, maintaining consistent communication with me and acting as a true advocate for our family. And she is a great listener with relevant questions and encouraging responses. She said she would call me back with an update, and that is exactly what she did. It is impressive that she can manage her workload especially considering I am sure there are many more cases like my daughter that she is handling and my family recognizes that she, including the rest of the team, does not have an easy job and we appreciate everything that you do especially in today's world. In addition, she helped manage the process to place my daughter at a different provider for continuation of care and this took a load off of us because we interviewed several providers and got the run around - so I would imagine Coresa and her team had to do the same thing. She did not ask for a review, which is surprising, so I took it upon myself to ask her if it was ok for me to write a review on her level of services. My experience with Coresa at Ridgeview Institute Monroe should be written up as a "best practice" for other providers / institutions to follow as a standard of duty of care for working with those of behavioral and mental health challenges. Navigating behavioral health challenges for a loved one is one of the most difficult experiences a parent can face. From the moment I began working with Coresa, her professionalism and heart shone through. In healthcare, it is rare to find someone who not only performs their job with exceptional competence but also brings profound empathy to every interaction. Coresa’s tireless efforts, transparency, and genuine care have given me and my daughter's mom a tremendous peace of mind during a critical time. She represents the absolute best of Ridgeview Monroe Acute Behavioral Hospital. It is a great relief that my daughter is safe, in good care, and that I have found a compassionate advocate in Coresa.
