"I had an overwhelmingly positive experience with the program. The clinical team was exceptional, and the environment was warm and welcoming. The program's challenging physical and mental aspects were balanced by the opportunity to reset and distract myself throughout the day."I attended during winter, but I highly recommend the program regardless of the season. I appreciated all the staff members, who made a significant impact on my journey."Although I haven't maintained perfect sobriety, I've retained a level of mental clarity that I wouldn't have achieved without this program. I remain grateful for the experience and the tools I gained." They are the most important things I learned there.

Our family has been very grateful for the kindness, compassion, patience, & professionalism shown to our loved one throughout the entire process. The staff has been amazing in answering our questions, addressing concerns, & most importantly helping our family member. They repeatedly go above & beyond to help and really care about the people they are working with. While there are no guarantees, we believe the numerous skills learned during our family member s stay will serve well in the future to help them continue to pursue and stay on a more positive life path. I am so glad I picked next step recovery in Asheville. I ve been to many treatment facilities and next step recovery was surely my absolute favorite for many reasons. I have just recently completed the program and found it extremely helpful in many ways. Next step recovery feels warm, welcoming and understood by everyone. I really enjoyed being a part of the group sessions as well because everyone gets a chance to share and nobody is left out. Group leaders, therapists and staff were also extremely informative knowledgeable and had real life experiences. I want to thank next step again, and I will surely stay in touch!

Asheville Recovery was the perfect place for me to begin my recovery journey. From the cleanliness and professionalism at the lodge to the structure and balance provided at groups in clinical, I couldn't imagine a better fit. The staff, my therapist, and my case manager were amazing and very instrumental in my continued recovery process. I can't thank Sarah Karges (my amazing therapist) and Sarah Conner (my amazing case manager) enough for their support and guidance. I would strongly recommend ARC to anyone who is ready to make the next step towards recovery in a safe and supportive environment.

I came to Asheville and Otter House To stop drinking as I had a huge problem. My expectations were far exceeded. Otter House So much more than that. It gave me a strong foundation to go out and not only stop drinking, but to live a much better life through identifying my values, what’s important to me, my perceptions, paradigm everything. The counselors are outstanding, and if you’re willing to put in the mental and emotional and spiritual work, you will come out With a fresh, renewed outlook on life that will guide you through the rest of your journey. I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about this place and the people who work there. My experience was Wonderfully life-changing. I am grateful and blessed to have gone there And experienced it.

Great food, bedrooms and bathrooms were tidy. I have been in treatment before so some of the rules that other clients struggled with were not surprising to me. The office staff could be more organized. Only 4 stars because of not really anyone knowing what the schedule was and the schedule was constantly changing. Equine and art therapy were great. Hikes included packed lunches every week. Had tai chi classes as well were very relaxing. This is a holistic program focusing on mind, body, and spirit. Additionally, there is education about 12 step programs, SMART recovery, and other options as well. Be prepared to ask any questions you may have when calling for intake/admission.

I am grateful to Silver Ridge for providing me with a beautiful environment in the mountains where I could take the time I needed to get well. First I want to say thank you to the kitchen staff for all of the delicious and healthy meals. They truly sustained and helped my physical recovery and that has been vital for me. Thank you to the BHT staff. Robert, Daniel, David, Alex, Jacob.. For being there to talk with us, laugh, talk recovery, groups. Thank you to all the therapists and Mac and Griff for helping me along the way.I made life long friends in my time at silver ridge. And I plan to return for Alumni events and the online meetings ! Silver Ridge has its shortcomings. But no program is perfect and I would recommend anyone struggling with addiction to give it a chance! It has changed my life for the better. - K

Overall a great way to get on track with mental health and sobriety. I wouldn t necessarily recommend this for long term use just from my personal experience. After 5 years of treatment I started to feel like another number. My therapist started seeming checked out and stopped asking about my sobriety struggles and honestly I found myself doing most of the talking through the appointment.Everyone at the facility was always super nice and helpful. I wouldn t be who I was without finding October Road.

Being at The Willows provided me the space and support I needed to begin to heal from all that plagued me. I had not found a way to successfully address any of those issues on my own and truly believed I was inherently incapable of the happiness and stability I saw in those around me. Here, I was allowed to gradually and gently grow into myself, a person I had been scared to inhabit before. The foundational work done at The Willows has proved to hold strong years later, and everyday I learn more about myself. I thank this place for allowing me that introduction.

The people are what makes the Willows such a unique place to get well. Making the choice to take time out of your life to work on yourself is not easy to do and everyone at The Willows work hard to support clients in all stages of change and willingness. I wouldn't hesitate to send a loved one there for support and am lucky to do this work with this team.

Hi I just wanted to update my review as it's been 2 years since I left this review where does time go? I want to sing my praises and express my gratitude to the certain staff members of CrossRoads of Weaverville! Emily, my oh my how much healing can come from truly vibing with your counselor. She is the absolute best fit for me at this stage of my life and journey to eventual and inevitabe sobriety! Our new director Hannah, she is totally amazing at her job...she's made great improvements and much needed positive professional changes! And no longer here at the clinic but the dosing nurse I'll never ever forget my dear sweet Chelsa this woman is the apidamy of a genuine empathetic soul. You ladies will never know how much you mean to me I must say that Crossroads of Weaverville saved my life! I was in a spiral downwards in active addiction until I heard a fellow former patient there say those very same words "this place saved my life"! I was incredibly lucky to get a few excellent counselors over the past years I've been a patient there! A couple counselors will always have my praises.... Melissa (which is no longer there) & Candace, these women have NO clue the positive impact they've had on my life! Not only did crossroads help get me clean but also provided the resources needed to do so! Therapeutic counseling is something that has so much stigma surrounding it, let alone the stigma of MAT programs. I truly had the same uneducated beliefs before coming to crossroads....this place exists because it really works! Its pretty easy to be a normal member of society when all the "properties" of addiction are removed from the equation! No more "hunting", staying financially strapped, associating with certain characters, Etc. Etc.What does sobriety mean to me? ..... EVERYTHING!Thank you to all the faculty and staff of Crossroads of Weaverville for all your dedication!Love, Cheyenne

I am grateful for this place, because they've helped me get clean and stay clean. They have great counselor's, And the women that dose you are patient, and kind especially in times having to deal with ppl that are cranky or feeling sick. They have lots of rules but as long as you follow them and act right you should be fine!! I have been there for a few years and at a high level so I dont have to come but once every two weeks. This could be possible for you as long as your attendance is good, you follow rules, and pass your drug screens. Doing all this and of course acting right should make it possible for you get all of the benefits this place has to offer!!

Be aware there are a lot of rules and you are punished if you break the rules. With that being said it s a structured environment that does provide good therapy. There can be some toxicity amongst other patients so it s best to not let that get to you and your recovery. I m writing the review I wish I could have read when I was researching residential programs and deciding if I could do it, and where I should go. I was at CooperRiis in Asheville (not The Farm) earlier this year. My experience is as a cisgender, queer, white, fat, disabled woman who is both a lifelong mental health patient and a therapist. The clinicians (therapists, nurses, psychiatrist) are skilled and engaged, as are the residential staff, recovery coaches, care coordinators, and Wellness Director.Structure:I found the structure of the weekdays extremely helpful; time is split between individual sessions, a variety of groups, optional wellness activities like group walks and art, and down time. The weekends are tougher, with no individual sessions or groups on Saturday and only two groups on Sunday. After such an intense week of treatment, having a break is kind of nice, but also feels a bit like whiplash and gives you a lot of time with your thoughts. That being said, the residential staff are so kind and engaged. They provide several activities throughout the weekend (and weekday evenings) to build a sense of community and offset that whiplash feeling. They are always eager to talk with you one-on-one if you need to, and these checks-ins were validating and helpful.Autonomy:While any residential program requires rules that aren t a good fit for everyone, the staff at CRA are as accommodating as they can safely be of individual needs. Having the ability to keep my phone, go outside when I wanted to, eat when I wanted to, and attend the groups I wanted to helped me feel I had some control over my own experience there.Identity:I expressed my needs and concerns to every member of my care team in my first few days there, and these were respected and accommodated. The experience was not perfect and there were a few upsetting things that occurred while I was there. I met with leadership twice to express my concerns, and they were receptive, kind, responsive even appreciative. I experienced zero fatphobia there, my trauma and neurodivergence were honored, and I felt much safer there as a queer person and woman than I expected to. When incidents did occur, staff took them seriously. There s lots of queer and trans staff members. I wore a mask in common spaces throughout my stay and this was respected with no weird pushback or judgment. I was the only person who wore one, but they are strict about staff staying home when sick, and the other residents were kind about my request that they let me know if they felt sick.Food and Space:The food was SO good. There s a big salad bar at every lunch and dinner, and multiple options for entrees and sides at every meal. Seriously, I was shocked by how good it was; there were only three meals in 30 days that I didn t enjoy. I am a pescatarian and there were always good choices for me. As a bonus, the kitchen staff are so kind, know all the residents names, check in about needs and preferences when they meet you, and are happy to answer questions about the food any time. I also appreciated the 30+ varieties of tea available along with coffee and a daily flavored water. The entire space is clean and well cared for, with lots of comfy places to sit and read, journal, etc.In summary, if you need this level of care, I recommend CRA. Even as a therapist who has been in outpatient care for decades, I left with some coping skills and insights I didn t have before. It was hard work and you definitely get out of it what you put into it. If I need residential care again the future, I will go back to CRA, and I d recommend it to my loved ones.

This place helped me out a lot. I struggle from type 2 bipolar disorder and they really sat down and try to understand what I was going through. I also have a lot of trauma and they sat down with me and try to help me deal with it. The doctor is really nice. Same with my nurses. Everyone was so understanding and this place has helped me with my suicidal ideations

My wife has Alzheimer's/FTD/PPA and was moved here from her memory care facility to get a medication adjustment and re-placement into another facility. She was always treated respectfully and was clean and comfortable. The staff always genuinely cared for my wife. She was there 4 weeks and is adjusting well to her new facility.

This place is pretty special. They spread good throughout an under-served segment of our community by providing a safe place for neighbors recovering and healing, who might not have the means to stay in a rehab facility. People who have bills to pay, family to care for, and work to do (or find) and still deal with their personal demons have solace here. Tools are provided for work training, personal empowerment, healing through creativity, and many more classes and offerings (both in person/virtual), as well as personal mental health therapy sessions. This group perfectly exemplifies our mountain culture of hospitality and endurance while occupying a historic craftsman style home near downtown Waynesville. I really cannot give enough words of praise for this down-to-earth home-grown practice of truly caring professionals.

There are good people here and I have found them. Most of the classes they offer give you wonderful suggestions to learn to set boundaries and manage Anxiety while the one on one actually helps a lot if you get the right person. I feel it has benefited me with suggestions and strategies that you can apply to every day life. As someone said on here you have to do the work yourself. Didn't take you a day to get here so give it a few weeks and if you don't have the right class or person ask for someone else or go to a different class.

If you put in the work also, this place will change your whole life. You have to want it. You have to do hard work. You can't expect just sitting thru the sessions will do it. That's where a lot of folks go wrong. You have to have the hard conversations, you have to take a hard look at yourself. It's not easy, but so very worth it!!!! The people here are amazing. Knowledgeable. They give their whole selves to helping others.
