As a parent, placing your child in residential treatment is one of the hardest decisions you’ll ever make. The entire staff at Embark made that process so much easier by treating both Mason and our family with kindness, compassion, and respect every step of the way. I probably sent far more texts and emails than most parents, constantly checking in and asking questions, yet not a single person ever made me feel like I was being a burden. Every message was answered promptly, every concern was taken seriously, and I always felt heard. What stood out most was how genuinely invested everyone was in Mason. From the treatment team and residential staff to the front desk, every single person took the time to truly know him. He wasn’t just another resident, he was Mason. They learned his personality, celebrated his successes, encouraged him through his struggles, and built relationships that made him feel safe, supported, and valued. Communication throughout his stay was exceptional. The team consistently kept us informed, responded quickly, held appointments as scheduled, and welcomed us during family visits. We always knew they wanted what was best for Mason, and that gave us tremendous peace of mind. Mason spent 64 days at Embark, and the growth we saw in that short time was nothing short of remarkable. I recommend it as we have tried so many places and this one was the only one that works. Kathleen Lafleur 3 months ago I was terrified about the decision for my son to attend Embark in Benton. But I knew on the first day that he would be safe and valued, just based on how patient they were with him through the onboarding process. Throughout his time there, they saw his good through his pain and anger. They worked with him and me to teach us new ways. The place itself was beautiful and my son spent so much time in his happy place of nature. When things were very hard for him, they communicated with me and never gave up. The residential staff are God-sent people. I loved that turnover was so low, that I really knew all the staff by the end of the process. They were familiar and comforting during family visits. ALL the staff - care coordinator, Jaime, Chris, Jake, the nurses, the therapist team, Nathan, residential coaches - were consistently compassionate, communicative, and provided quality, individualized treatment for my family. We do not have many resources in Cleveland for mental help so they are under staffed and no a big facility. I agree with some of the comments about some of the workers but I have met also some of the most amazing people iv ever met with special hearts! Taking care of my mental was a big step this year for me. Hiwassee made me feel safe to do so and my care managers and therapist are god sent. And I don’t know if yall are complaining about the two ladies up front now but they are always so sweet and caring and try finding a plan if I need help. As far as resources at the end of every meeting I have they ask if I need any and if I need help with living somewhere. Dont let the negative comments bring you down! Lydia Wilson.Wilson is kind, patient and knowledgeable. The center gives you the choice between having an in person or online therapist, and also a choice between male and female. I’m looking forward to my first therapy appointment today. I have a good gut feeling about it. First appointment was really easy to make, the second one was stranger - the appointment setter was quiet for minutes at a time without any explanation. I just called as a first time patient attempting to make an appointment, and after having the worst experiences at so many separate places, had almost given up hope... I had pretty poor expectations after seing the stars on google, but I called today, the Athens number, and transferred to someone for first appointments. I had the best and most hopeful experience in trying to get help my entire adult life. I talked to them for 30 minutes, and explained way more than they asked or I should have, but they just stayed so patient and kind. It was truly a different experience, and left me feeling positive and hopeful towards my induction telecomm interview tomorrow. But the doctors, therapist and the safe were amazing, sweat, kind, and understanding! It was sad because I was literally by myself for 5 days and when I wasn’t wearing my rings some people thought I was divorced. But I wasn’t. I wish I could have kept my rings. They were understaffed and I didn't get to see a therapist every day, but I did get to see a psychiatrist every day to help adjust my medicines each day. I especially enjoyed the yoga and meditation classes in the morning that got you feeling relaxed and mentally motivated for the day. They brought you to outside AA/NA/ CR meetings plus hosted them in house and the YMCA is across the street if you’re want exercise. The food was delicious (with real silverware) so watch your weight. I had a crippling addiction to 7-0H. For those unaware its a concentrate of the molecule in kratom that causes opioid like effects. It felt almost as strong as oxycodone and is available otc for cheap. I was spending at least 30 bucks a day for 6 plus months and I wasn't even one of the worst cases. Tolerance builds quick. Its physically addictive just like pain pills. I started drinking every night from the stress and got physically addicted to that too. I did the detox program for 7 days and Im finally free and can actually hold onto my money. The staff and patients are so kind and you can smoke hourly. You can sleep as much as you need. Im staying on Suboxone therapy from now on. It you are hesitating to go please do it. I would have ended my life if not for them. Its the only program I voluntarily did and finished.
