I agree with some of the comments about some of the workers but I have met also some of the most amazing people iv ever met with special hearts!
Taking care of my mental was a big step this year for me.
Hiwassee made me feel safe to do so and my care managers and therapist are god sent.
And I don’t know if yall are complaining about the two ladies up front now but they are always so sweet and caring and try finding a plan if I need help.
As far as resources at the end of every meeting I have they ask if I need any and if I need help with living somewhere.
Dont let the negative comments bring you down!
Make the decision for your family, kids, friends.

My intake interview was via telehealth and it was a lovely experience. Lydia Wilson.Wilson is kind, patient and knowledgeable. The center gives you the choice between having an in person or online therapist, and also a choice between male and female.
I’m looking forward to my first therapy appointment today. I have a good gut feeling about it.
First appointment was really easy to make, the second one was stranger - the appointment setter was quiet for minutes at a time without any explanation. However, I decided this is too important for me to act like an entitled brat, so I was patient and got an appointment for the day and the time of day I need it.

I’m a stronger person because of her listening and teaching skills. You have to want to get better and put in the work. The therapists are not magic. They can’t heal you. If you don’t put in the work- you can’t get better. So make sure you are determined to conquer your disease. You can do it. If I can crawl out of the deep pits- you can too. After 32 minutes & being transferred 3 times, they finally told me that they're not accepting insurance right now, they're only doing out of pocket.
Don't waste your time.
Update 1/27 @ 12:11 PM:
They called me back & set up an intake appointment. (Thank you) Once I'm able to see Dr. Angela Stokes, I'll update my review to reflect the service as a whole.
Update 1/30 @ 10:56 AM:
They called & woke me up about an hour before my intake appointment because they had already lost my insurance information from the day before. We quickly got it squared away & they "reminded" me of my appointment coming up at 9:00, to which I double checked, because we had originally confirmed 9:30. Not really sure what happened there, but no biggie I'm already awake. The doctor (not Angela Stokes) was about 10 minutes late, but other than that she was empathetic, & I felt like did a good job of hearing me out. She let me know that the office would be calling me to schedule an appointment. But unfortunately that was the morning of the 28th & I haven't heard anything from the office, yet.
Update 1/30 @ 5:29 PM:
I just got a reminder for my upcoming appointment, that I don't remember being told about in the first place. But it works! Lol
Update 4/24 @ 11:09 AM:
After multiple appointments, I can honestly say that the doctors seem fantastic! The problem seems to lie with some of the office staff, & that can be incredibly challenging to deal with when you're reaching out for help.

I have been going to the adult center since 2003. I have always received top notch care. The staff in the back is always 100% committed to helping me live my life to the fullest even though I struggle with a mental diagnosis. I have seen several different people over the years and I can say every one was thorough and listened to my input about what worked and didn’t work for me in medications. Times when I was uninsured they immediately got me enrolled in a safety net program which makes my meds 3.00. Only negative is having to come in face to face every 3 months bc I am bad about keeping appointments. Nurses line always answers questions the same day and will call until they reach me.

I went here years back, my name's Brooklyn Grace Carlton. I have a lot of mental problems- Major depressive disorder, Post traumatic stress disorder, and Anxiety. The only so-called 'treatment' I retrieved hear was more trauma.
The cabins were compact with people and in poor condition, we had to use horrid outdoor bathrooms, the showers were not at all private enough and not supervised enough as another patient quite literally started pounding on my shower wall before opening the curtain and no staff members did ANYTHING. The food was usually either stale or out of date, there was a lock down cabin in which I got touched inappropriately by another patient on one occasion and again- the staff did absolutely nothing. And let's not forget about the whole ordeal about the staff sneaking nicotine to patients and I got harrassed after I reported it out of concern. I haven't spoken out yet- thinking that this place may have changed.. but judging by your recent reviews- you guys have no place watching or helping anyone. You need to stop what you are doing and treat people correctly. You make people worse. My sister was murdered while I was in this hospital and the only 'therapy' I got was my therapist- if you can even call her that- telling me that I can't be angry at the man who killed her?.. and I was discharged only a few weeks later. Your care is horrible and that whole place should be torn down. I hope anyone who needs help gets it somewhere much better than here.

The Village gave my child a chance to make it into adulthood alive, which was not there before going.
For years my child has struggled with mental health with self harming, self medicating, suicidal ideation and multiple suicide attempts. We did everything we could to help at home with individual therapies, group therapies, IOPs, CTT and so many safety plans. But the roller coaster continued. Calling the crisis line became a regular occurrence. The trips to the ER and being admitted into acute behavioral health care were part of the routine. As a parent watching your child crying out for help, but not able to reach them on any level leaves you feeling helpless, hopeless and failing as a parent.
When the decision was made that residential treatment was my child's last hope, it was a new kind of scare. There are so many horror stories of how bad facilities can be and that it did more harm than good. With the help of my child's CTT case manager, I interviewed many facilities. When I interviewed The Village, I felt at ease. The program had more than just a treatment facility feel. My child was there for 5 months. I got daily calls from my child, we had weekly family therapy sessions, regular visits (TAs), and got regular checkins from the school on how classes were going. When I had questions or concerns, the staff was very prompt in responding to me. There were times when my child would fall asleep before calling me, but I would call the nurse's line get an update and they had my child call me as soon as they were available to do so. Even though there are rules around contact, I always felt that I could reach my child.
My child got involved with volleyball while there and won a tournament receiving a medal and everything. To point my child is actively seeking out a volleyball club to join.
While my child's stay had many ups and downs, I do believe that it was the best decision. The Village provided my child a chance to practice the coping skills in real time as my child's window of tolerance was so small it was almost impossible for us to manage at home. My child still has a lot of work and progress to continue to make now at home. But for the first time in a long time I see my child having a chance of growing up to healthy functional adult.

Tennessee is ranked 16th nationwide in terms of addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $56,600.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Tennessee vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of the treatment types listed above. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below.
There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Tennessee. Most treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Tennessee that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options. Here’s the complete breakdown of how to pay for addiction treatment in Tennessee.
