This was such a a great place to be and it really helped me on my healing journey. It was such a a healing environment. The classes were so helpful and the staff was amazing especially all the therapists and the swing shift techs. The food was better than any place I've been at as well. I don’t even know where to begin with how amazing Pasadena villa was for me. I did a month in their residential program and a month in their PHP program. When I came to Pasadena villa I was a mess a week off of an eight month alcohol bender where I was a functioning alcoholic. Through being at Pasadena villa Smokey mountain lodge I found myself. Not the person I was before but the best version of me there is. The therapists helped me realize that I am an amazing person. They helped me learn to cope with my PTSD and all of the events that led to it. I now know how to cope with healthy ways instead of substances. The staff as a whole is so amazing and accommodating to each individual’s needs. During my time there I learned so much about myself. I learned that I have a passion for helping others and spreading awareness for mental health. I learned that I want to be a model so that I can make a name for myself to be a mental health advocate. Not just for future people going to Pasadena villa but for anyone in the world that thinks they are alone. The groups are amazing they help so much with whatever you are going through and are trying to recover from. The food is always amazing and the chef’s accommodations to any dietary restrictions whatsoever. Overall Pasadena villa is amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone searching for a place to go.

I am grateful for the services Appalachian has provided over the past 6-7 years for my patients. Yes, they are understaffed and they are overworked, but they are also the only organization available in our area for people with mental health crises. There is a severe statewide and national problem of inadequate mental health services. Without Appalachian, our community would be in far worse shape, because there is nothing else like it available in this whole region. Despite the time it takes for some services, I believe they literally save lives.

This place is pretty special. They spread good throughout an under-served segment of our community by providing a safe place for neighbors recovering and healing, who might not have the means to stay in a rehab facility. People who have bills to pay, family to care for, and work to do (or find) and still deal with their personal demons have solace here. Tools are provided for work training, personal empowerment, healing through creativity, and many more classes and offerings (both in person/virtual), as well as personal mental health therapy sessions. This group perfectly exemplifies our mountain culture of hospitality and endurance while occupying a historic craftsman style home near downtown Waynesville. I really cannot give enough words of praise for this down-to-earth home-grown practice of truly caring professionals.

There are good people here and I have found them. Most of the classes they offer give you wonderful suggestions to learn to set boundaries and manage Anxiety while the one on one actually helps a lot if you get the right person. I feel it has benefited me with suggestions and strategies that you can apply to every day life. As someone said on here you have to do the work yourself. Didn't take you a day to get here so give it a few weeks and if you don't have the right class or person ask for someone else or go to a different class.

This is a great facility and I feel like it saved my life from alcoholism. This is the first time I feel like I can do this. If you do the work, go to the meetings and take your recovery seriously, you can stay sober. If you stay in your room and do not participate in your recovery, that is in no way a reflection of EMR. I am a chronic relapser and this is by far the best inpatient rehab I have ever been to. It’s a very comfortable environment in a house. In other words it did not remind me of an institution. It was extremely educational and I was comfortable opening up from the moment I walked in. The staff were all outstanding and teared each person with love and care. Almost like a family. I’ve been to no less than 15 rehabs including Cumberland Heights in Nashville and this was the best one by far. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is struggling.

If I could help any other female that’s struggling with addiction of any kind, I would beg them to run, not walk, to Journey Pure’s Women’s Center.
The best gifts usually don’t come wrapped in little robin’s egg blue Tiffany’s boxes (though those are great)! JPWC is one of those. Please don’t be fooled by other facilities’ beautiful buildings and possible gimmicks. This may be the older toy in the toy box, and not the shiny new one, but it is the absolute best. I had tried another on a pretty campus in Dickson county before and was one of 76 women and about the same number of men. Having guys around when you’re trying to focus on getting sober and maintain lifelong sobriety can be (not always) a distraction.
The balance of having some autonomy and responsibility being able to prepare your own meals and make your bed every morning accompanied with the responsibilities of a daily chore only enhance the self worth component they drive in hard.
The campus is on top of a beautiful hill with a trail around the pasture, so take in the nature’s beauty when able.

The success rate of others. The staff are all loving and fun with a good dose of tough love when needed (let’s face it - addicts are a little high maintenance, especially when detoxing). They put up with a LOT very patiently. The nurses are all precious & truly care. The daily education is date and science researched and backed. I just can’t say enough.
The only improvements would be healthier food options, exercise equipment, and updating the decor, as it is dated with some stains here and there, but hey, we are all perfectly imperfect.
The other component I want to touch on is having such a small number of women. We had 8 most of my stay, but they can house 16. This only helps to encouraging and enabling our ability to open up and be vulnerable. I peeled my entire life onion to a bunch of strangers my first days. We were all able to say and share things with each other that we have never, ever been able to say out loud or share with our own family or supposed friends. These ladies will be my sober sisters for life. In fact, I already started a group chat among us to help lift each other up throughout our first days of sobriety, And we are going to have a weekly zoom support group with ourselves to add to our Recovery toolbox. The tenderness you will feel immediately with strangers will help you on your journey to lifelong sobriety, if you should so choose.
The Shelbys, The Tiffanys, Zara, Brittany, Tesla, Curtis, Ben, Carla, Erin, Cathy, Kathryn, Courtney….they will love you or your loved one hard while helping bring out the best in them!

The ten-week CASP program is one of the best Recovery programs in WNC. While other Pyramid programs are half full of people who were "pushed" there (by DSS, the Judge, their PO, their spouse) but CASP was full of 9 men who really want to stay clean. CASP also has their own grant funding, separate from other departments, which is why this program has so much respect in this area of the southeast.

Silver ridge was a fantastic place to go through the recovery process. I have done inpatient treatment once before but this place exceeded my expectations. Beautiful location in the country with a Mountain View. Accommodations are nice especially if you’re are in residential treatment in the main house. Classes are intense and fun at the same time. I really learned a lot about my addiction. Counselors, for the most part, are experienced and knowledgeable with most of them being in recovery themselves. They are very helpful accommodating the needs of clients and setting up after care treatment.
The kitchen serves delicious prepared food everyday and even the kitchen crew are great people.
Would highly recommend this place. The clients were all so friendly and I made some friends for life. Great vibe here.
The only hiccup I had was some issues with insurance and FML leave so you’ll have to stay on top of that but the problems were resolved.

This was a great place to get clean they really help u with mental helth as well as getting clean this was the best place its been a great experance for me being my frist rehab ive ever been to. There might be alot or maybe some bad reviews but no shit the place was great and it gives u alot of help to take with u. Michael B. The director is a great man truly amazing. Tiara M recietians is truly a blessing to. Tom he was my theripist was truly a wonderful guy to. The staff is great they go out of there way to get u what u need. Grag, johnny, mal and felisha are the best tects i will truly miss those tects alot. But for real this place will truely be missed and if u need to get clean and are having problems from mental health this is the place to be.

I recently attended treatment there and had a pretty good experience :) Pretty much THE entire staff was great except for my "assigned" therapist. Karen, your groups were SO helpful & I learned a lot from you. Kevin, you are a god sent. Julie, Felicia, Sean, Ms. Marie & majority of nursing...the list goes on... ❤️ Thank you guys for keeping me motivated & giving me the strength to not give up. I definitely had my highs and lows but made it through. Pretty facility with a great view. Wish there were a few more activities to do but all in all it was good. I wasn't too fond of corporate coming in and making the terminations they did especially when having so many clients present because it definitely caused us to stress more than we needed to. There's a few other things but it's probably best I don't say them here lol. All in all, I am very grateful for Harmony's help in getting me sober. Thanks guys!

This facility Red Oak recovery center is a unique treatment 👌 facility that gives clients space and time to heal. For me I know I gained a clear understanding of who l was and what I needed to do in order to love opening my eyes every morning. I found that I was ungrateful. Gratitude is why I want to joyfully scream and scream and scream thank you to the staff way up on that mountain. They may not hear my sound but I know in their goodness they'll feel my spirit.
