Tiffany is one of the most caring people I've met and when you leave she makes sure we're all okay and she truly cares about whether we are all okay. I personally had to go twice this year and the second time I was in crisis I called Tiffany and she got me in that day and I will always be thankful for her for that and to everyone who works there, they all get it they've all been in our shoes even the therapist. The therapist Jackie, Tiffany, Kevin and Karen those guys will definitely go far and beyond for anyone they sure did for me. Two of the tenets Don and Pree are awesome they will go far and beyond for you also they definitely did for me. I couldn’t pay for almost 60 days. They helped me get insurance for 8$ a month that pays for my medicine and better yet allows me to get medical treatment like I would on tenncare. They are sweet understanding people. I LOVE my routine when I go. Seeing the friendly security guy (my personal favorite) to seeing the beautiful women at front, sorry forgot their names but those women especially the light skin one is so SWEET. My care broke down and one of the workers offered to jump my car. They have been so good to me. Their job is hard. I came in the first day angry and agitated and wanted a fix. They worked with me. Put me in top of the queue and gave me water to calm me down. The woman usually in room 1 with the glasses and brown hair I feel like is my FRIEND. They are always helpful and set you up for free medication if you don’t have health insurance. They have all sorts of programs. I have been treated with nothing but kindness and respect there. Katrina is one of the most caring people I have met. She listens to you and doesn’t make you feel like you are just another patient or that you are less than anybody else because of your past. She treats you like a person and like you matter. She is a registered nurse too so it is also really nice having somebody up front with a medical background because if you have a question or something is wrong she actually knows what to do and will help you. I found that out myself one day. I had come in early during their lunch because I had an appointment with Amie at 1. The day before I had to have my heart put back into rhythm at UT and that day I started feeling funny again after walking in and leaving urine. So me and my husband went back out to the car so I could sit and rest in there for a little bit while I waited for it to get closer to our appointment time. I hadn’t been out there but a few minutes when Katrina came outside to check on me. Nobody asked her to she just noticed I wasn’t right and came to see if I was okay. I told her that my chest felt funny and what was going on and that I was at UT the day before and she went back inside and got her stethoscope and came back out and listened to my heart and my pulses on my wrist. She told me and my husband that she would make sure everything there was taken care of but I needed to immediately go back to UT and be checked and not worry about anything else there at the office. So we did. I ended up being admitted and having to be put to sleep and they shocked my heart back into normal rhythm again. They told me the AFib rhythm I was in was dangerous. I really don’t know what would have happened if she hadn’t came outside and checked on me that day and I don’t like to think about it. I honestly don’t know if I would be here if she hadn’t paid attention and cared enough to come check on me. She could have easily just stayed inside and finished her lunch but she didn’t. I have also watched her help other patients and she treats everybody that way. Amie is the provider there and she is wonderful too. They have a really good group of people at Knoxville South and you can tell they care about the people that come there. This location has needed someone like her for a very long time. If you need help and want to go somewhere that you aren’t going to be judged or made to feel bad about yourself, I would tell anybody to go to Knoxville South. They make you feel more like family than a patient. I will always be thankful for them and especially for Katrina checking on me that day. She probably thinks she was just doing her job but to me it was a whole lot more than that. As with all treatments and medications, some individuals do not take it seriously, some lie to get over prescribed and some abuse the medication. Methadone reduces the risk of overdose when taken daily, so it is definitely positive regardless. I personally want to succeed and don’t want to be zonked out, so I only get as much medication as is required to be normal. The staff are very kind, friendly, and nonjudgmental. I believe they even try to work with people financially and give them some buffer room but they are a business at the end of the day. I would give it 5 stars if it were completely non-profit (correct me if I am wrong) and if they had government grants to help non-insured patients.
