Even though it is a little drive from John Day. I was very happy to see the Nurse and the Doctor. Very friendly, kind, effecient, and very intelligent! I found out about my meds I didn't know before! I got free hot coffee. The lab girls were great too. One try stick and she hit paydirt! My blood pressure was high as well as my cholesterol. Dang, it's bad enough but so thankful thats all it is!

Sadly, I have few been to quite a few recovery centers over the years. Within the first week I had learned more than I had in any other I had attended. Such a clean facility with staff that truly care. Colin is a top notch chef that made us the best meals. My wife is in trouble when I get home, as my taste buds have been accustomed to the best food(kidding). And from the people that run the show Andrew and Luke, to my counselor Matt, to all the techs that made it happen, all 5 STARS. Even the xray technician, Liz, besides being efficient and thorough in her work, was entertaining and fun.3/15/25: Went to Emergency Room at Boise VA and was seen by Dr. Jesse Mix. In a few minutes he diagnosed a nerve pinch in my neck that was previously misdiagnosed by a different provider at a different medical organization. Dr. Mix is very sharp and knowledgeable. His solutions were right on. Two days later I was pain free. Thank you Dr. Mix and the Boise VA.2/20/25: VA NP Jeff Weese spent significant time with me today reviewing my EKG and ECG. He was very thorough and detailed in information and explanations. He is obviously very knowledgeable. I would recommend him to anyone seeking wise advise. So I went to the ER because of complications from a colonoscopy. I went through some tests and was about to be released. There was a younger gentleman that came in the room right next to me. I was about to get released when the younger gentleman next to me stopped breathing. The dr rushed out of my room and went into ER mode. Their team performed CPR on this veteran for 40 minutes while I m in the room right next door. The veteran ended up passing away and my heart was broken. The moral of this post is if I was ever in that situation and passed away I can tell every single veteran that this Dr and his team worked above and beyond to save his life and I know they would have done the same for me. I was very affected by their teamwork and professionalism. The dr came back in my room to release me and said to me I love all you veterans and got teary eyed with me. Whomever the Dr was on the evening of 12/05/24 you are my hero. This breaks my heart just writing this but had to share how proud I was will everyone of the staff.

Whatever your view of detox centers, drug addiction or mental health, I would be remiss if i didn't thank the staff at Allumbaugh House for being a contributing factor in my survival. The specifics aren't important, except for the staff truly does care. The staff is kind and doesn t judge you. This is a great safe place to detox and the case workers will work with you for next steps. They ve saved my life and changed it.

Overall, the Medical Care I have received at the Caldwell VA Clinic for at least 6 or more years has been a positive experience. Appointments & labs are generally met timely and outsourcing when outside scope of facility has been diligent. There is always blips in any long-term professional relationship and circumstances arise that cause aggravation, but I rate mine with the Caldwell Clinic @ least a 4.4

Staff is excellent. I come from Tri Cities, I prefer it over the Richland CBOC. A lot of folks dog on the VA and it's typically due to not understanding how to navigate things. My personal experience has been overall pretty good. My PCP is responsive and I have better results with the VA than I do TRICARE.

Deschutes does an amazing job of healing students and also working with families to create lasting changes for the future. Wilderness therapy can be life changing for adolescents and young adults, and their therapeutic program is among the best. If you are looking for a program to help your child, you should contact Deschutes.

I cannot say enough good things about Deschutes. This program saved my child's life and I am forever grateful to the highly skilled and deeply compassionate people that supported her and our family.Before going to Deschutes, my 17 year old was in crisis and deeply disconnected from our family. She was heavily using drugs and engaging in many risky behaviors. We tried several different therapists and interventions but nothing had an impact. The stress on our family was tremendous.Sending our child to Deschutes was a very hard decision, but it turned out to be the best decision we've ever made. One of the greatest strengths of Deschutes is the family education and therapy component. My husband and I learned so many new skills for relating to one another and with our teen. Our child saw us evolving along side her and I believe that helped rebuild our family connection and trust with one another. Thanks to Deschutes, we feel like a family again.Our child's therapist Lori and our family therapist Mariah were both AMAZING-- as were all the guides and the staff. These people are such good and deeply caring humans and they changed the trajectory of my child's life forever. My child entered Deschutes with no coping skills. She was angry, lonely, and depressed and would not talk about feelings. She finished the program confident and genuinely connected to self and family. She also now has lots of new skills to help her regulate and cope with challenges (and so do her parents).
