This is by far the best recovery center in Louisiana As with all of them, you won't want to come, can't wait to leave, but here only you don't want to leave. The environment , atmosphere, food, and being treated with trusted freedom is the best. You learn so much about yourself, which counselors are on point, to help you deal and cope with life issues, which I have never done properly before or knew how. Great staff hands down. Very friendly environment. People like me. It completely changed my life for the better. Sober 18 months . Life is great. This is where you want to come. Loved it here.

I have been using the Hammond VA Clinic as my primary care facility since September 2016 and I have to say that I have been well served with my medical needs and services there. Prior to this I used the Baton Rouge VA Clinic for at least 25 + years. As a long time VA patient having experienced Veteran's Health care services now for over 30 years I rate the Hammond VA Clinic as a premium professional health care facility.

3-13-2025 thus place has not change.Lady at front is just so unprofessional,loud .We came in with blood pressure at a high 158/92 starting at 1230 pm no one in waiting area and we sat till 4am ..so i went back to the window to ask .where am i on the list ,the unprofessional lady say it's up to nurses and doctors who goes back and when they go back ..This place sucks ..I should have went to Biloxi Medical best care ever..

The VA claims to provide medical care 100% to veterans that are rated 80% or greater. I call that bullshit. Unless you have the 4,000 page manual to circumvent the VA you pretty much on a crash course for disaster. And even after going through the loops and struggles set forth before you the object is to fail certainly. I had private insurance which the VA has charged for everything I have seen them for in the past 5 years which lead to BCBS raising my monthly payments to $2000 a month, which who can afford that medical insurance payments? Not the normal American trying just to survive on a daily basis. I am upset, yes. And feel like nobody cares and keep getting the run around with paper work and approvals and referrals which they all take their good sweet time to figure out how to just run me around some more until I finally give up. May voice may not be heard but I will be sure to let everyone know that I come in contact with just how “awesome” the VA takes care of their veterans in need. Unless you have a hit selling novel to tell a doctor or can benefit the VA in someway you as a veteran have no worth to them.

CSU placed me in their care KNOWING it was a false case. They knew it was someone holding a vendetta against me who kept sending me there. being that, they should have handled the issue as a LICENSED FACILITY would have. They MISDIAGNOSISED me AND MADE ME take medication that I don't need. I am a 32 year old woman I know when I need help and I never needed this kind of help... If you want to help me, give me a car, give me section 8 or a place, or something, making me take medication I don't need is blasphemy . this place needs to be shut down and investigated immediately. how do they get the pleasure of holding someone against their will and sitting there watching them beg for help or watching them explain that this is not right... no no and NO!!!

I do agree with one review. This place is not Educated enough to handle people with Schizophrenic. Maybe depression and anxiety. People. My sister was there for over 2 weeks and she is worse than ever.she was sent home. I had to take her to the hospital again to try to get her better help. She was recommended to go to southeast Mississippi state hospital where she can get well, but the Nurse Practitioner refused tto send her. I was told by them she has Dimitri which' was not provided to me by a Neurologist. I were told by another hospital that she do need. Psychiatric treatment.
This place have Prolonged her for getting well soon. I wish that Nurse Practitioner would lhave isten to a family member that know the patient condition. Guess what? When someone do listen to me, where she need to go, she is back to herself. DON'T LET THESE SHORT TERM FACILITIES STOP YOUR Recovery!

Edgefield first caught my attention because of its location and history but upon arrival I was introduced to the compassionate staff that made me feel at home. The repuposed plantation house is such a charm with beautiful chandeliers, fireplaces, and paintings to gaze at between classes, meals, or in the afternoon. The staff was so caring and involved in my recovery process. They genuinely are concerned for the patients and it shines through all of the employees, from the physicians, techs, and lunch room employees. Being set on a quiet bayou with lots of wildlife to observe and appreciate. I recommend a volleyball game during your stay. The food was amazing and filling, so if you are on a diet I suggest passing on the 2 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches they offer as snack. Thank you for helping me so that I could help others.

Absolutely beautiful grounds and the most supportive, caring, and loving staff. From the moment I walked in at Intake I immediately felt welcomed. Was greeted by staff that also had personaly experienced the recovery journey. Having that in common made it easier for me to be able to start forgiving myself and focusing on my sobriety. The techs were able to guide me , answering all my questions and calming my anxiety. There was plenty of other clients to talk to. We enjoyed fishing, volley ball and basketball. Staff even played with us. My counselor was able to listen, be empathetic but also hold me accountable. Which I needed more than I knew at the time. The atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for my self healing. I can't thank Edgefield Recovery Center enough for giving me the opportunity to get my life back. One I am proud of. I would strongly recommend Edgefield to anyone ready to start their journey. We had nightly AA meetings, small groups, one on one counseling, mediation, yoga, gratitude, family meal's. (BTWThe food is Great!!)Edgefield Recovery Center saved me. The discharge planner was even able and willing to work with me to find me a sober living home in my preferred area to where I was able to get a job, have transportation and begin on a healthy path!! This CBOC is awesome & I am so TIRED of hearing people complain. We all feel bad or would NOT be going there. Learn to work the system by sending a BRIEF secure message to your healthcare team asking for specific help. Each Doctor has over 1000 patients and things always run smooth for me because no matter how much chronic pain I endure, my team has only helped me and I am NOT rude. Just try being nice & patient.

If I could give them a negative 0, I would. Do not take your self or any loved ones here. They are sorry, rude, and do not like to treat people with respect or dignity. This is the worse place for care. They need to be investigated and shut down. I would drive a million miles to get proper care rather than trying to go right down the street for immediate care. We didn’t see any charts and they took no notes. Just horrible and racist. Just absolutely bad.

I came to have a EKG tilt test and about 10 mins in I fainted then started having seizures. They stopped the test and called er department. I was in and out of seizures and the cath lad nurse ask er for a board to move me said I was kinda hefty and he didn't want to hurt his back. Reson I am so hefty is because I take 80 mg Prednisone a day . Told my husband wish I could control my seizures cause I would have gave him a right hook . By the time they got me to er I had done had about 5 more. I have a port installed due to veins being torchered after be in hospital for 36 days after a ruptured brain aneurysm and a massive cerebral stroke. Which is why I have strokes. Most of the time the are controled but today was not the day. H BP , aurger high, oxygen levels were running 86-93. Normal hospitals list on how to access my port. One nurse stated she had trauma from working in cancer center other nurse would let me move so she could access the port, tried just filled it with saline if you can't or don't want to access it then get some who can . Normal hospitals have adivant ready on the stand by earth give it in the but or port. Took an hour may a little longer to give me a pill form which is not going to do the trick fast enough.if shot doesn't get them to stop and you have another one give the second does. They more seizures you have the more damage you do to your brain. After the Aneurysm did enough damage. I don't place. I told nurse that I had had 7)8 more and needed another adivant. She told me the Dr knew.Dr came in as asking if I felt like going home and I explained what was going on she told nurse to give me more adivant that nurse took about 20 mins. Dr was great she seen what was happening and in her eyes thought she had me going. By the time nurse came in I had already taken IV out heart leads off and put wixk off and was dressed. She ask me what I was doing told her I just needed to make it to my truck and I would take my adivant. I keep some in every car just in case I need one even though I take 1500 mg keppre 2x a day. Sometimes I have them even after taking meds. I know y'all are busy leave room door open so you or someone can see and get help. Oh that's right a lab technician did twice and my husband her then say we know ,just leave her. Thomas Hospital ER Nurse do better even if you so want to be there that day.

This post was five years ago and I assure you, things are not the same at JeffCare. There are better systems in place. The staff is friendly and the doctors are caring. When I first became a patient at JeffCare, I didn’t have insurance. Now I do, and I’m still a patient at this facility with no intention or desire to go anywhere else. The care I receive here is better than anywhere else.

Although they are very good at their job, so many veterans visit the center that the process becomes very complicated and it is very difficult to get an appointment.

I have been using the Hammond VA Clinic as my primary care facility since September 2016 and I have to say that I have been well served with my medical needs and services there. Prior to this I used the Baton Rouge VA Clinic for at least 25 + years. As a long time VA patient having experienced Veteran's Health care services now for over 30 years I rate the Hammond VA Clinic as a premium professional health care facility.
