I've been waiting for someone to pick up the phone for 2.5 hours to get my wife reestablished as a patient after she was erroneously discharged for the second time and without any notification to us. I think it's a good facility, but you should definitely go in person to get things done. And I can't do that as we are out of a car (the stress of which makes us need services more).

My daughter was seen here for a year, during that time her appointments were Friday evenings. The therapist when leaving for the day would yell or go up to the outside window yelling "bye" during her sessions totally unprofessional (it was the lady in the front office). Then in most visits they would discuss the therapist cat, and her pregnancy journey. I'm not sure why that helps a minor deal with their issue? Then at her last visit she was told they would start charging her. I thought, you'd basically be paying for friendship cause no help is being had, and sessions we're supposed to be 1 hour, but she would be cut short 15-30 minutes at times because of an AA meeting they had. So she stopped going, and they waited a year and a half to send her a bill, after being told it would be free up until the last appointment where she said they'd charge her. I'm sure they help some people but others suffer... We've since changed to a therapist in Columbia and it has been a wonderful experience.

Tiffany and Elise are very good at there job. They get you right in and out. They have changed my life for the better in just a few days. Before I found this place I was in a dark place in my life with my addictions. The night before I found this wonderful new family I have now, I was ready to give up. I was never much of a drinker but they welcomed me with open arms and accepted me as I was. I could not be more grateful for the care I received here. The staff are amazing and will make sure that you are always comfortable. You will be respected, heard, and treated with dignity. You won't be dismissed, all your questions will be answered. Be completely honest so that you can receive the exact care that you need. You could not ask for better accomodations or understanding. The environment is immediately welcoming. Its quiet, peaceful. They have everything you need, you really just need clothing. (Its a bit chilly, bring hoodies and fuzzy socks) There are even laundry facilities. You will be provided with a vape or nicotine patches if you use nicotine products. You may rest as much as you need, the staff will let you sleep through the night, vitals are during the day. You can call your family, except for during group meetings. No visitors, but the stay is short. The counselors and peer support specialists are very honest, open, and eager to help you with your personal journey, without being pushy or making you feel rushed. Whether faith based or evidence based care is right for you, that is your choice. There are options for both approaches!
The idea of group meetings was terrifying for me, an introvert, an addict full of shame and guilt. You are not obligated to contribute, that was reassuring. But I was surprised at myself for wanting to contribute and engage. It was a bit sad leaving. While here, I was not just a junkie, just an alcoholic, a lost cause, all of the negative adjectives I used to describe myself. I wasn't the things my family called me. I wasn't an echo of the childhood I lost. I wasn't an empty, lonely vessel on autopilot. I was a person. A human. Im more than my story, but sharing our perspectives and caring for each other felt like being part of a family. A family where you aren't the black sheep. It was almost overwhelming to feel that kind of support and HOPE. Ill be honest; When I came in, i wasn't ready to get help. The timing was just right. But very quickly that changed. They made me want to be better. Not for recognition or pats on the back. Not for attention or brownie points. They made me want it because they made me see I deserve it, I deserve to live a good life and be happy. If you are thinking about making some changes, please come here. What do you have to lose?

Had this doctor for over a decade and battle with BPD. When switching to a new doctor after mine left office they refused to help. They are pure evil, don’t suggest checking them out even when desperate.

I honestly would of gave it a 5 star. But a couple of staff were not nice to me. It was mostly night shift. One made fun of me Stimming and i have Autism. She laughed at me stimming on my tippy toes. Jenesia a tech is very rude. Told me i couldn’t go on my tippy toes. That its not allowed, but thats my way of coping/stimming. That i needed a doctor’s order. Which i didn’t i talked to the doctor. I understand the reason why they have to keep the doors open all night. But they could of at least dimmed the lights. It kept going in my eyes and waking me up. I didnt get much sleep being there. That doesn’t help me with my physical conditions.
Now for the compliments. Unit 2 overall is such a good unit. I did get treated like a human being I felt safe, and supported. Not like the other ones i have been to that made me feel horrible like we weren’t human beings. Dr.Feldman Lance, now hes the best doctor I have had in any mental health facility. He actually listens to u(if ur not mean or give attitude) and he gets things done. He is also so sweet and very nice, and understanding. I don’t like talking alone to males but with him I was ok. He is nice and gave a nice vibe! Megan the tech is another great staff member! She made me feel safe while I was there. I could talk to her about anything! She was just there! Shes so nice too. Then there is Abby another tech. Shes super nice as well! She helped me calm down . She let me keep stimming on my tippy toes even when other staff said i couldn’t. That made me cry and get upset because they said I couldn’t. But she calmed me down! She is a really good one. And then there is Kenzie the therapist. She was very nice! She cared alot! She listened and helped me understand what I was confused about. She was so sweet! Then there was a group therapist named Kathleen. Oh boy she helped so much! I loved attending her groups when i could of. I am actually going to take what she told us and work on it in my therapy sessions! She made sure everyone got there questions asked. She was really nice because the group room door slams, and I get overwhelmed with that. She made sure it didn’t slam. But overall I would definitely recommend this facility! Now it is different experiences for everyone!

I was broken when I arrived. The staff at CCBH listened to me and gave me real tools I can use to fix myself. Special love to Med techs Micah, Dragna, and Matteson for their help and support during my stay in Unit 8. It is truly appreciated and will not be forgotten.

I had an amazing experience there! Shaq was amazing, Mac was amazing, and and Cody was amazing!! Also, the therapists that I had there was amazing!!! I still went thru issues after I left there because of my own choices, but I have over a year clean now!!! I even work in treatment now myself!! But I will always have gratitude for GATC and the people there who helped me along the way in my journey!!!

This place is terrible. Everyone is leaving. Therapists have no discipline. Late to groups. On their phone during one on ones. It has been a terrible experience.

I just got home from a month treatment at this fabulous place! I cried, I didn’t want to leave! If you are someone serious, really serious about your recovery-and want as much knowledge as possible to treat the horrible disease of addiction-then you can’t go wrong going to Black Bear! Went here involuntarily as a teen. I remember having to sleep in the hallways. Being strapped to a board while having a panic attack. I remember having to lie to get any kind of acknowledgement for real help. Being misdiagnosed. Put on drugs that made my symptoms worse. I still have nightmares about being here as an adult. This place is why i tend to avoid any kind of mention of mental health disorders. I have many now thanks to this place and other issues in my life. for the love of whatever god you believe in, do not send anyone you love here.

I had a very positive experience at Twin Lakes! The counselors were great and I loved all the techs. I learned much and laughed often. The classes were diverse, interesting and varied. Also, much fun for some of it. There were tears and much shared memories between the clients. I would 100% recommend for a place to have peace while healing your mind and spirit.

These people have zero compassion, do not sign in at your own free will for help to detox from alcohol or drugs they habe a judge that signs order to keep you against your will . Basically until insurance runs out . They don’t listen they treated lives one for mental health not withdrawal and then held her against her will. I personally heard them screaming at her over the phone threatening her like a 51 year old child to keep her more days . These people I pray have not messed up her recovery . Took me 10 days to get her out and had to get attorney involved . Do not trust unless you need someone locked away gen maybe it’s the place for you . By the way her life was threatened by a patient they said they handled and moved him and to find out they didn’t. She was taken to the emergency room while in their care . I have heard horror stories and I am mad at myself for taking her there , I thought I was helping her and Nate’s that’s just part of details . They will know all soon enough .

When I was completely hopeless and couldn't stop even when I wanted to, I didn't have anywhere to turn. My family didn't know how to help make the pain stop either but the staff at Athens Area Commencement Center did and they did so with love, compassion, and complete understanding. They saw me as a person in pain and not as a problem and helped me rebuild my life from the inside out.
Today I am a present mother and have a connection with that same family that was once as hopeless as I was, that I never thought was possible. If you want a way out, this place works miracles and I am one of them.
