Just thought id give an honest unbiased review unlike the rest of the people on here who are just upset because the outcome isnt what they desired. I was honestly stressed coming in because i have PTSD so going to places are naturally worrisome for me but each lady at that front desk made me feel listened to and respected. Oh and to the people who complain because the desk ladies chat to each other, would you rather a non friendly environment? If you would prefer a rude/hostile place then go to intercepts in federal way.

So upset this treatment center is closing!! Typical corporate decision. I am alive today because of their treatment. Clean & sober for 15 years with no desire to drink, do drugs, and/or binging on both. The comments from the new owners were disrespectful and ignorant about the process. Treatment is not easy in any program, but if it saves lives why end it. Shame on you Universal Healthcare! Many lives will be lost by closing this hospital.

I feel like it needs to be said that no one will kick an addiction in 10 days. Even the traditional 28 days won't end the addiction. There are no shortcuts to the life long journey you are embarking on, if you choose sobriety. What Schick does - is give you the tools, and take away the cravings so you can handle this huge life shift. I have been abusing alcohol for 8 years and finally decided I needed professional help. Schick is working so far for me. I've been 81 days sober as of today. What the treatment is like: There is a daily schedule of meds, vitals, and group. You will spend the mid morning through mid afternoon either completing a sleepy (propofol conscious sedation treatment where they ask you a series of questions related to getting sober, and staying sober) and counseling, or a duffy (ipecac aversion treatment where they give you ipecac and then have you drink alcohol. you quickly become ill to associate drinking with nausea.). Late afternoon are various groups. Pros: -The medical director at the hospital is a true patient advocator. Sabrina is incredible. -The community. I felt safe sharing in group, and gained some friends I imagine will be with me for life. -The counselor John. I've been going to therapy the past ten years, but HE is my favorite person I've talked through my mental health with. Compassionate, empathetic, just a good listener, and has great life advice. He's been there done that, and helped me see some great perspective. His lectures are also my favorite. -The program. Schick gives all of the same literature that any other rehab gives, but also has the aversion therapy, and sedation treatment. -The resources. The media wall, the counselors, the lectures, the movies, the hypnosis videos, the 4 agreements, etc. There are so many resources it was hard to take them all in. But theyre all powerful and have continued to help me outside of Schick. Cons: -The nursing staff. For the most part I didn't have a problem. But some of the staff had no bedside manner whatsoever. Some said misogynistic comments. Some did room checks late at night with little regard to patients sleeping. Some argued with other nurses in front of me. Either the nurse was great or the nurse was pretty unprofessional. And I didn't see much inbetween. -Not a diverse group at all. As a black queer female I felt out of place here. It's mostly white men in their 30s and 40s.

I have been through four rehabs. I came to ATA because my attorney sent me to them. I was arrested for DUI. My checkered past with rehabs came from jobs or family members pressuring me. I ignored everything until I was arrested. I had a blackout and drove. I could have killed people. Everyday I see the news and read about people who drive drunk and killed people. I am blessed not to be in the news. My assessment from ATA opened my eyes. I have had a lot of violence and trauma in my life, but I have to take responsibility for my choices in life. I am grateful for the compassion and guidelines i got from the relapse prevention program. ATA did everything to make me grow. They did not lock me into a never ending program for their own profit.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This hospital is NOT a place for healing, if you come here there is a 99.99% chance of leaving with PTSD. It's been a little over a year since I was there, it's taken me this long to muster up the courage to leave a review. I still have nightmares about being there. While I was there, my body was violated by the staff members! I was horrified they didn't tell me what they were doing. They just put me in a small room and did their thing. No one talked to me. No one explained anything to me. I was so dehydrated no one told me how to get water. I thought I wasn't allowed to have water. I thought I wasn't allowed to have hygiene products. No one told me that I was allowed to have them. Nobody gave me any hygiene products. All they do there is drug you. I never meet the doctor, how can I take meds when I don't even know the side effects or what I'm being given and without meeting with a doctor. They're drugging you, What seems to be almost every few hours. You were guaranteed to go through withdrawal when you leave. My biggest problem is no one listen to me. It seems like no one there spoke English and if they did they had such a heavy accent, You couldn't understand anything they were saying. The only time any staff members who actually spoke English came out was during visiting day. This place will make you feel like you're going crazy. There is nothing to do but stare at the walls being trapped with. Your thoughts is scary. There's nothing to stimulate your brain. Literally nothing. They take away everything. You can't do anything but stare at the walls. The human brain needs stimulation. I don't know how many staff members I told this but over and over again to different staff members I told them that I have dyslexia I cannot read. So every time they gave me paperwork and I told them I didn't want to sign it because I didn't know what I was reading. They forced me to sign it anyways. I asked if they could please read it to me and they didn't. They told me to just sign it, It was fine. I am not comfortable with the fact that I have no idea what I signed. I felt very forced to sign paperwork. I I don't even know what I signed. I have a reader on my phone so I'm able to have my phone read to me what's on my screen and I use text to speech. This is how I get around. I also have some serious medical conditions, one of which almost got me killed while I was in there. Thank goodness my roommate was there. She saved me. Staff members were completely useless. If it hadn't been for my roommate, I probably would have died. Also no one told me how to use the phone. No one told me that there was a passcode to put into the phone before putting in the phone number you want. So I thought the whole time I was being locked out of the phone that I wasn't allowed to use it. Little did I know you just needed the passcode the passcode that no one told me. So the only time I could talk to my family is if they called me because I was unable to call them. Apparently they gave it to me on a piece of paper, a piece of paper I could not read! After my roommate got released i was scared for my safety and I told my family this on the phone. My family helped me and told me about AMA. If you get sent to this place I highly suggest you get AMA it means you can leave. They don't tell you this mostly because they don't tell you anything. I can sincerely say this place is not safe. This place is not okay for people with disabilities. This place is not okay for people with medical issues. This place is not okay for anyone! This place should be shut down! There's so many more things that happened there that I'm not putting in this review. So much happened that it is not possible for all of it to fit. I should probably just make a book actually explaining everything. Probably make a movie! I hope for the people who are in there right now survived this place so-called "hospital".

I was in for 11 days due to self harm, suicidal ideation and was generally not stable. The staff were incredible. Ousman was always positive and happy, zemen always was open to have a talk, benson was also super talkative (even though he liked to use air quotes a lot) ali was amazing and so were the staff in the kitchen. Mental health staff go through so much abuse it's not even funny. They genuinely want to help and yet people scream at them because they actually have to put in the work to get better and they don't want to. The only problem I had while I was there was the dietician. She did not know how to put in a diet restriction for a gastric bypass patient and when I would try to explain it, she would talk over me and not listen. So almost the entire stay there I could barely eat anything but the kitchen staff were really sweet and tried their best. I also would have my meds switched and stuff and I wasn't communicated with about some of it but I'm much more stable. It is also really hard to read the case managers writing so I can't read my diagnosis and I'm trying to get a copy of my medical records so I have them and do do my outpatient providers.

If you need help, I believe that the people at Evergreen want to help people. But just keep in mind, no matter where you are at in your recovery, they WILL sign you up for some sort of program with them. I get the feeling that they get bonuses for signing people up for their programs. But if you actually need to be in a program, Evergreen will have one for you.

Ignatius is a rare and extraordinary counselor. As someone in my mid-forties experienced with excellent therapists (EMDR, lifespan integration, NVC), I hold a high bar—and Ignatius exceeds it. My elementary-aged son lights up when it’s time for sessions—he walks out taller, more grounded, and equipped with tangible skills for emotional regulation and lasting resilience. Ignatius brings an extraordinary depth of skill and presence, meeting my son exactly where he is and supporting him through both a complex co-parenting dynamic and challenges with a bully at school. The growth has been truly transformative. Forever grateful!

So to preface, I’m giving my current therapist 5 stars 100%. She’s super helpful and has been a tremendous help!! As for past care, I’d say it’s quite rocky. Some therapists and psychiatrists that I worked with were good, while others not so much. Maybe we just didn’t fit, maybe they just weren’t that good, who cares. I think this is a great place to get help when you need it. If I wasn’t seeing my current therapist I’d probably rate a 3 or lower because trying to contact psychiatrists, can be a grueling process when in between appointments. And sometimes it felt like I was a “trial run” with some seemingly inexperienced therapists. As seen by reviews though, you have to have your own experience here to draw a conclusion on if you like it.

Will update my review in the future if needed. So far care has been excellent, I did a walk-in and got an intake the same day, then got assigned a counselor right away who has been on time and communicative about appointments. Starting med management soon, the waitlist was actually shorter than estimated. Friendly front desk staff. Clean and attractive facility with good privacy features. I was in Thira's Partial Hospitalization Program for 8 weeks, followed by 7 weeks in their Intensive Outpatient Program. While I experienced some pretty significant problems (their therapist called me a liar in my first session, and their process for getting switched to a different therapist was appalling; medications were not always dispensed on time; etc.), overall my experience was positive. The other patients and most of the staff increased my success in the programs. I continue to use the DBT skills I learned on a daily basis. The most important measure is that my depression and anxiety are dramatically improved from when I started there. Thira was a big part of that.

This program changed my life. I spent 15 years hopelessly addicted, and JVA gave me the tools I needed to live a happy and successful life.

This place was literally hell on earth to me: for all the happy parents posting this glad u enjoyed having your kiddo brainwashed. Notice it’s all parents posting, not so much their kiddos. I was here a few years ago. From az, Washington was foreign as China to me. I willingly left this place and took a chance being homeless, February, no idea how to get home, I willingly took the chances and left this place to go to being homeless completely lost alone in downtown Kent. The odds seemed better so that should scream red flags right there. Took me three weeks but I actually made it back to ax on my own. Family left me stranded and it only upset them that I made it back

5 stars for the detox center but 1 star for the women & children long term inpatient facility ( would recommend the women & children long-term inpatient facility in Yakima called Triumph instead of this one ) but Evergreen is the place to go if your looking for a medical detox!
