I miss them. I love everyone there. I highly recommend Tamarack from a person who cherished the time being there almost 2 years. I even changed my middle name to tamarack because how much they mean to me. Which is now Elara Tamarack Skyobi Sherwood. Thank you to every person there, Tamarack made me feel heard and seen. I've been in and out of residential, and let me tell you, I felt so "normal" here and it was amazing! The only problem I would have is with irp. I attended vision in year of 2014. This treatment facility would quite remember me. During my stay there was alot of difficulties I delt with and made a slight commotion. This isn't a luxury stay, your housed with girls from all round the state, and it's a privilege based rewards to go outside. It's designed to make you think about how you want to change your life and never experience your freedom being taken from you again. There was no English music, birthdays got celebrated (a slice of cake for each girl), the year I was in we all had such good behavior as a group we had an olympics and went outside often. We were only allowed basic Hanes gray crew neck, t-shirt and sweats. Only time your not in that if it's summer they provide knee length shorts, and if your put on suicide watch. For obvious reasons they need to watch out for self harm. Every meal you dine with two units. Once your out of main unit you get clothing privileges, outing privileges, and meetings once a day, horse riding. I'm truly thankful for visions. I know many girls that led healthy beautiful life's that went through this program. This program could use donations or fundraising for better supplies/clothing for the girls. That's the only thing I could say negative about this place.

This place caused me more trauma as a teenager than it helped. I am surprised it's still open. I remember having to beg staff to let us outside to play or see the sun and usually being turned down. And don't even get me started on the "fitness" time. VHS tapes of walking in place and Richard Simmons? For teenage girls? I could go on. I genuinely despise this facility.

Chris is the best psychiatrist ever and he's at Sound! I liked Beth but Chris is just amazing. He's the reason I actually love and look forward to going there, and it's HARD to find a good psych! I pray he stays with Sound for a long, long time and if he leaves I might have to leave with him LOL. The first psych I've ever had that actually understands some of the things I've been through (like gangstalking) without looking at me like I'm nuts. The girl at the front desk is kind and I enjoy talking to her when I wait. (Alexandria I think is her name.) You guys deserve a raise!
I think your experience with a clinic is based off your experience with the people who work there. If you connect or end up growing on someone it becomes a good experience. I think a lot of people hating on Sound are probably not owning up to their side of whatever it is they're complaining about. I learned this in my 4th step (AA). People like to point fingers but not take a look at themselves. I guarantee most the low ratings are due to angry people who are either off their meds, just spiritually sick and projecting their hatred at others or just addicts who are not getting their way.
