Truly a positive experience. The staff was so impactful in helping me achieve my sobriety. The knowledge gained during my 30 days will be carried with me for a lifetime, I would not have been successful without there help. I honestly could not have done this on my own. My husband was recently in there and the staff aren’t professional or anything my husband didn’t get hygiene supplies til the day before he left which is unacceptable they didn’t do group meeting all the did was let the inpatients sleep how is that suppose to teach patients how to handle situations

I recently got discharged from a 4-day stay here. From the minute I was admitted I was told what was going on and questions were most certainly welcomed. I got a tour of the unit and my bedroom and was introduced to my roommate right away. I have a gluten and lactose intolerance, and the staff sat down and asked what I would like to eat and accommodated my needs. The food is great and there's plenty of options. Anytime you need something you can walk over to the nurse's station and they'll be able to help you. My nurses and the techs and the doctor were exceptional! I especially want to thank Katey, the group organizer. She and I painted and sat and talked and she said she really wanted to be a part of my healing journey and found material for our groups to help me out. I enjoyed the relaxed schedule where groups are in the morning and early afternoon and if they don't fit your needs you don't have to attend. I was able to take naps when I was tired or feeling unwell, and one night they let me sleep on the couch because I felt more comfortable doing so. I was also able to take showers at my request and recieve fresh scrubs, socks, and undergarments daily. You can also take in a phone call list and call your friends and family any time you'd like. I can't express how good this place is, and how amazing it is that I got in when they only have 7 beds at the moment. If you're looking for help for you or someone else and the person needing help is 18 or older, please go here! It's worth the drive to get the help you need!

I called the narcotics anonymous hotline about my son and they arranged for us to take him to Boca. My son didn't really want to go, but he went and was so glad he did. He is now over 5 months clean and doing extremely well. Thank you, Boca, for giving me my son back. He had nothing but great things to say about the way he was treated at your facility. Waited on an appointment for my child for 4 months for the provider to cancel the appointment because they "could not accommodate 5 pm appointments" even though it was already scheduled 4 months in advance. Stated 4 months of counseling is not enough time for my daughters medications to be managed. Beyond angry and disappointed in this facility turning their back on my daughter when she needs the help and we did everything they advised. Will never recommend this place to anyone.

I had a client of my nonprofit, LITE, who needed access to a safe place overnight until we could find him a residential recovery program. He'd completed a detox program but we hadn't secured a "bed" for him at this next stop. Jill was welcoming and helpful and we were able to provide our client a comforting, safe space. He is now working through his recovery at the next stop thanks to this facility!

It takes 4 days for a call back— if you aren’t overlooked from them being overbooked from too many clients. Also, sometimes when you go in for your appointment your medication isn't called in till days later. Has happened to me twice now. If I don’t show for my appointment I’m kicked off the practice, but if they don’t do their job and forget to send in my prescription and mess up my medicine, nothing happens. I hate having to stress about medication when this is a mental health facility.
They desperately need to add another prescriber to their employment.
Positive: I do like the lady at the front desk, she is nice. But this business is ran so unprofessionally and disorderedly. It is stressful.

My experience at the Huntington Bowen center has been great. The staff is helpful and always willing to accommodate me. My son and I both go here.
I'd like to mention the wonderful caregivers who have bettered our lives. Firstly, Erin Hollowell is amazing with children. She's worked with my son and we've had family sessions that have resolved issues that seemed hopeless. She offers realistic advice and provides a plan that can help future issues. I appreciate how well she is able to articulate both side's perspectives and offer valuable feedback without undermining either of us.
Fay Montague is a wonderful doctor who diligently worked to come up with a plan to help our family. It took months to see an improvement but she was persistent and showed our family so much compassion during one of the hardest times of our lives. I went from feeling endless frustration and wanting to give up to feeling hope for the first time in months and finally the results that we prayed for.
Aaron Crump is an amazing therapist. He is so insightful and smart. He is able to reframe my situations in such a way that my perception shifts. Instead of offering pointless validation he challenges me by asking questions that lead me to a better understanding. It's so helpful when I'm feeling stuck in an unhealthy thought cycle and has improved my self esteem so much. I'm more reflective and have more self compassion.
Don't let the other reviews persuade you. Our Bowen center is filled with providers who consistently do their best to improve the lives of their patients. This location is so much better than the ones in the surrounding community. Thank you for all you do.

I dont know why the rating is the way it is, I come here for mental health therapy and I think so far that my therapist is great and I am a very hard man to get along with because of my physical and mental health trauma in my past. My therapist, Brandy, is excellent and listens, and is also very real. I have been with Bowen for many years through Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, and now Huntington. I currently live in Indianapolis and travel over two hours one way to come to therapy, this is how good Bowen is in my eyes.

Definitely better than Bowen methadone clinic, there you’re just a number. At BHG they make you feel like an actual person and they get to know you and remember you. I'm a recovering addict. I attend nightly, sometimes 2 "free" meetings when not in their Intensive Outpatient (IOP). I get more from an hour in free meetings than I get in 9 hours of their IOP a week. I'm a voluntary commitment. Our group "referee" constently belittles and does not trust anyone in our group. The generic questions she asks insults us intellectually, spiritually and emotionally. It feels as though she is not there to help us, but to entertain herself. I will continue to attend for fear that I would be considered "against medical advice" AMA. And have to pay out of my pocket for my previous sessions. I also stay because I have grown to care for the patients in my group. Turnover is very high and relapse is more so than not being in this IOP treatment. I have been clean and a day at a time will stay so. But when my 20, 3 hour sessions are up. I'm gone, never to recommend this place to anyone, EVER. I've learned more from jail how to stay clean than at this place.

was a patient there around July 2024, and I had a good but also horrible experience. The staff were so rude. I was bullied for the way I tried to commit suicide, and while I was admitted, some kid got lice and they wouldn’t let him leave after his discharge date. I think the only good things about it were the food and the girls and boys who actually understood me.

Been going to Family Guidance for awhile now and I absolutely recommend this methadone clinic to anyone struggling with opiate addiction. The staff are mostly friendly and it's easy to get into the clinic within a day or two. Once you get to the correct methadone dose the dope sickness is mostly gone and then you can slowly get back to a normal life. I've had a few counselors since going here and all were nice and professional but my current one Gary is Awesome. He seems to really care and is always helpful. I would most likely be dead if I didn't sign up at Family Guidance. If you're looking for a way to stop using dope give this clinic a try.

Went here to get help and learn how to cope with my life and they actually made it 10 times worse now saying there is certain things wrong with me that are not and we're so quick just to send me to the psych ward forget the fact I hadn't had a real person to share my problems with in 10 years so no they don't care about you it's what's they can do to make money off your insurance and because of this I have went almost a year without the meds they said I needed am doing personally fine without them cause I didn't need them in the first place save yourself the time and just go to a psych ward at a hospital hospital they might actually check you for disorders put in simple they are unreliable at best and just a waste of time

I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to this rehab center and its staff. No, it’s not a luxury retreat or a spa-like setting—but neither is prison, or worse, the morgue. This place is about recovery, not comfort, and I believe they are doing exactly what they’re meant to do: helping people get their lives back.
The staff was kind, dedicated, and truly cared. My son's father recently completed treatment here, and while he shared that it was incredibly tough—physically, emotionally, and mentally—he also said it was nothing compared to the pain of being out on the streets, lost in his addiction. Recovery isn’t supposed to be easy. If it were, addiction wouldn’t be so hard to beat.
I’ve seen some reviews criticizing the center for not giving constant updates to family members. I get it—when someone we love is in pain, we want answers, we want involvement, we want to help. But part of the healing process means letting go of that need to control. We didn't have control when our loved ones were in active addiction, and recovery is no different. The program is designed to build independence, accountability, and internal strength. Constant calls, questions, and attempts to interfere, even with good intentions, can undermine that.
Trust the process. Let the professionals do their job. It’s not always comfortable—but neither is addiction. Discomfort is part of growth, and growth is what this place is all about.
If you're looking for somewhere that offers real recovery—not coddling, but healing—this is it. Let them work, and give your loved one the space to fight for their own life.

Sacred Heart started me on my recovery journey giving me the tools I needed to get sober and stay sober. I hit my 90 days sober in about 2 weeks, and I couldn’t be more happy or proud. I’m so, so, so grateful for what Sacred Heart did for me. Shout out to staff Leslie, Trish, Jessica, Tom, Johnny, Margaret, Joe and Tom#2, Elizabeth, nurses Jane and Jim.. the therapists are amazing (all of them except Maria, she’s awful) the peer recovery coaches are amazing, love the nursing staff, y’all took good care of us. I love you all and maybe I’ll come back one day to help my fellow addicts. Anyone thinking of getting sober and trying to find a good rehab, this is the one, you won’t regret it!!

After completing inpatient rehabilitation, I transitioned into the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Parkdale Center and I can say with my whole heart that it was one of the most life-changing and soul-healing experiences I’ve ever had. Having used their facilities for our Union members and for a family member, the counselors are caring, responsive, and communicate very well on a treatment plan and objectives & goals. Ms Tori awesome!!!!! The group meetings and accountability for each other in treatment works in a great atmosphere. I would strongly recommend this facility if a friend, co-worker, and family members are in need of help with addictions and/or mental health. It is located in chesterton nearby for visitation purposes.
