I cant believe this place is still around. I was here almost 20 years ago. I am now a sober member of Alcoholics anonymous and life is wonderful. I wish I could go back and talk to myself during this time in my life. Recovery is a life second to none!

I had never been to rehab before. I told Myself I would be able to get Myself better by Myself. It doesn't work that way. I went to Branden House and they helped me so much more than I thought I needed. It's hard at first... Discipline and withdrawal. I had a hard time everyday at first trying to not cry but they all welcomed my healing tears. I feel so much better about society today knowing that there is places like this with caring people out there for struggling people such as myself. God bless Branden House.

This is a NICE, CLEAN, FRIENDLY STAFFED CENTER 🙏 one of the NURSES made sure I received the care I needed! They had to call Chicago for a resource but getting the run around. THEE NURSE SAID WE’RE NOT HAVING THAT TODAY! SHE GOT MY STUFF RIGHT!! THANK YOU MISS NURSE! I wish I could remember your name!! YOU ARE IN A GREAT PLACE! WE NEED YOU! THANKS DR A TOO!🙏❤️🙏

I understand that an hospital is a place of care and not a hotel. With that being said, when a patient is being admitted for observation it means that they’re not critical. However, not being able to rest is important. Staying in ER for 10 hours from 8:30 am till 5:00 pm without food is ridiculous. I don’t know if am allowed to eat or not? Just trying to be patient because I’m aware of my surroundings. My nurses were very nice and friendly but not apathetic. I loved the ER doctors. They are thorough, knowledgeable, concerned and compassionate. The night floor nurse was really really nice and did all she could to accommodate me. However she had been so busy and rushing around that she had an odor that was really unpleasant. The night CNA I wish I could remember his name, I think Matt? He was very nice and really kind. Oppose to the morning CNA, I tried to give her a compliment on how nice she smelled and she ignored me. I choose to go to NORTHLAKE Methodist Hospital. I think the care is excellent. I just wish the staff’s demeanor and procedures were a little consistent across the board. Also the ER room I was in the TV remote volume was broken. I could turn the TV on but had to hold the speaker to my ear to hear it. I thought my neck was going to get a catch in it and I would have to deal with another problem.

Professional, knowledgeable, genuine, caring attitude

The labor and delivery department is awesome! I will admit that the reviews did initially make me look into other hospitals to deliver my baby. Those hospitals turned me away when I was clearly in labor. Methodist took me in without hesitation and took very good care of me and my baby. My only complaint is that pain management was kind of slow but I think that was because my original midwife did not put in the orders like she said she would.

I don't have a problem with seeing my nurse I haven't met anybody there that is not friendly. Just don't take the elevator

so i was a patient here i literally discharged yesterday. this place has a bad star rating but honestly this place is not bad my first 3 to 7 days were the worst days of my entire stay there because I just cried every day and I really wanted to go home but staff was always there to comfort me and tell me that I can do my treatment and I was gonna be OK and I’m gonna get better and I’m gonna go home the facility the day room and our bedrooms are not the best but they’re also not the worst. we decorate the unit sometimes to brighten up the place and it does look good. The cafeteria is pretty big and the food is decent. I’m gonna say that we would get like cauliflower and it would have a little mold spots on it, but it wasn’t every time it was just a couple times If it had mold on it and we would switch it out for something else. The broccoli it was smell funky so I was scared to eat it, but I don’t know if it went bad we do only get 10 minute showers and 10 minute phone calls so that’s not the best and we also rarely go outside and the staff here was very nice. I was on East unit and I feel like I learned a lot my therapist. She helped me a lot family sessions. She helped. She taught me a lot of skills. The unit taught me lots of skills in the school programming there it is fairly good. there was a couple fights on the unit, but they never lasted. Staff always heard them arguing and always got into the middle of it. The only reason they got to fight is because they hit around staff and they did get punished for it fairly and if you there is like a lot of precautions, there’s like SP precautions SH precautions SI precautions, AP, EP and you can you put on those if you show that behavior SP precautions if you’re saying you have a plan to un alive yourself and it can be feasibly carried out in the hospital you’ll get put on SPS if you’re saying you want to you or are gonna do it you’re gonna get put on sp ap is being aggressive yeah just stuff like that. You’ll learn all about it and it’s honestly not bad. You just have to do your treatment and not fight it and you will you will have a good time. oh also they do make you eat 50% of all meals and I’m pretty sure if you eat less than that you get put on fall precautions and you have to wear a hard helmet to make sure that you don’t fall in hit your head so this place is also for like eating disorders and just anybody that doesn’t eat regularly. We have to eat 50% of breakfast 50% of lunch 50% of dinner so it does help. But I’d like to thank the facility for helping me and just just I don’t know like it was just a good facility and I would definitely recommend someone to go there

Wendy was the absolute best she gave her all and really made a difference in mine and everyone’s treatment. North unit was anchored by her and she made every resident feel heard. My care would not have been the same without her

Porter stark mental health in valparaiso was very kind , Mason, dr. Verma , lou, nick , Steve, we'll the whole staff was super kind and understanding. Very professional and very good with group therapy sessions while I was there. It was a GOOOOD and therapitic stay

I made my main review at the Portage location if ya need advice on who to see. But wanted to shout out Micah the psychiatrist who works at this location. I’m a force to be reckon with to put it nicely but he passed the test most don’t for me. I came from having a psychiatrist who knew me for years to having to switch to Micah so I already wasn’t thrilled about it because I get the ick to easily from people. But he has been a breathe of fresh air honestly. He truly listens, not just listens to give a reply and answer, but he understands and comprehends it and that’s important. Especially a gem of a person after having to deal with me at an appointment when I’m in a manic episode cause if you know about those BPD manic episodes then you know how intense you can be. He may have had a lil fear in his eyes seeing me in that moment but he dealt with it with such care and understanding and respect even in the hardest moments. If you get lucky enough to have Micah as your psychiatrist, ask him about the large picture he has framed in his office, he’s got some pretty cool stories to tell that are guaranteed to make ya giggle.

Mr.Whitfield was very helpful in helping me with my alcoholism and alcohol recovery.I was hesitant at first to accept I had an addiction and or a problem but his lessons helped me open up and own my responsibilities for my internal and external triggers.As I let his outlook and experience on addiction resinate class by class it made fighting addiction and recovering more manageable.i would recommend Mr.Whitfield and this program for anyone struggling with addiction in life.

Mr. Whitfield have my experience here very challenging but understanding to my knowledge. He has helped my recovery become a breeze. He gives not only addiction lessons but life lessons as well. This program has made a major impact on my life I’m grateful and thankful.
