I've struggled building rapport with therapists throughout majority of my life due to having complex and convoluted conditions but Steward Reed is the man!
His down to earth personality and out of the box methods have been what I needed. It's easy to look at our issues through the lenses of our experiences and it can be hard to see alternative perspectives but it's definitely possible.
Often times we seek therapy as a means of fixing something but what it boils down to is being a matter of management and that there is no quick fix or necessarily a fix at all, it just is.
Some days can be spent talking about the things that bother you, while others can be philosophical gymnastics. Then there's days that can just be a smile and laughter. He is a true friend when we find that we may not have them readily available in our environment.
+ I'm in the Detroit area and they have worked with me in doing exclusive virtual visits so I don't have to travel hours weekly to their physical location. KUDOS!

I have personally had a very positive experience with A Healing Place. Over a nearly 5 year span I worked with two wonderful female therapists that were great to have in my life. Financially, I did not have issues because I paid a copay for my sessions which was reasonable for me to keep up with on a biweekly basis. It was nice to have my card stored on file so that I was always kept current with my charges.

I went to the farm and stayed for a little over 3 months. The treatment duration is determined by the therapists. The shortest duration I saw was 2 1/2 months. Longest I saw was 4 months but most do around 90 days. I had moments I really loved the farm, and others where I felt like I hated it. Their rules are really strict and you’re there for a while. However, it did work for me. It was a long journey. I got yelled at for breaking rules, for sleeping in, and absolutely resented waking up early every morning to do work duties. Definitely cried a few times. By day 50 I was like “get me the heck out of here” but had months to go. But every time I got upset, I’d sleep on it and always decided to stay. Now I’m much better. I can wake up for an actual job early without a problem. I have more self control, more friends, more support, I try to follow the rules in real life situations, try to be a good person, and have a much more rewarding life overall. The Farm is really challenging but it does actually work if you listen to them and do what they tell you to do and don’t fight it. It’s hard to follow their schedule and rules every day for so long, but it just might change your life.

I have been going to AACTC for MAT for 8 years of almost the whole time I've had the same amazing counselor Named Dr Harrison Igwe PHD
I've been with him over 7 years he has worked here. We had 2 awesome Drs that left idk why. But they were great I hear our new Dr is wonderful but I normally see Amanda the PA as she is in on my day I come once every 28 days. I have remained Clean thru this tough time of moving here, personal mental issues CPTSD GAD depression and ya know normal alphabet soup you get diagnosed with. Only difference is mine is all mostly from prior to starting IV Heroin at 26. I am from deep Eastside detroit up to State Fair between Schoeneer & Gratiot. Started at French & Gratiot. Now I have battle grade CPTSD on top.of the PTSD/Trauma from childhood. It's rough. Taking a medicine to keep your disease properly controlled is NOT wrong. Wish I'd have learned that 4 yrs before I have in and tried the Detroit clinics which are a WHOLE NOTHER ANIMAL compared to AACTC. They respect you if you respect them which is all anyone.wants in life. Please come join us and live!!!! It does work if you do the program right and not just as a back up if you're dope sick or your dudes out. Work the counseling you'll never stop til you're ready. Not for anyone or thing. It's hard work but now so worth my life now verses 2004. Ms Ginger RN, Myra RN Jamie RN and the front desk lady Mrs. Terri are the kindest and helpful women around.

I am alive because the Grace and mercy of Jesus. Also MAT therapy. A nurse named Mrs Jamie today was going over a paper list layed down by the computer and she even checked to make sure she had enough methadone I her bottle before she started and she had more than enough. All the sudden she stopped and said hold on she noticed without measuring it that two of my bottles were short in like two seconds. If she wasn't watching as good as that no one wouldn't have believed me. I have painful multiple Sclerosis and she is really good. This place saves our family in so many ways too. Not sure why someone has left such a low rating before me..but I have had nothing but great experiences with the mental health services provided by them. I've been struggling for so long and have never taken my mental health seriously until this year.. I didnt even know we had a mental health department in Adrian, but the day I inquired I was given so much information and immediately was given an appointment and everything took off from there very fast. Here I am now months later and still going to my appointments and receiving amazing care and support.

I recently went to ARD and the reviews you read are legit. I talked to Laura multiple times before I went and I was really nervous. She made me feel better about going and is super cool. Without her they may not have as many patients. A driver picked me up and took me back to the airport so they make everything pretty easy. I was on oxys then suboxone for 15 years after a car accident and was tired of how it made me angry at times and ruled my life and schedule. It helped contribute to ruining my relationship with my daughters mom and I just wanted off of it now. She was not very supportive either. It is a fast process for the worst of the withdrawals but you will need to follow their program when you get home. Frieda is great and adjusted my meds on the days I called. I've been home a month and I still have low energy and lethargy but I'm working through that with exercise. Laura keeps in contact with me and she truly cares about people. Pat is awesome and we had some great chats. I recommend going here if you are struggling. It wont be easy but if i can do it, you can too. Now I can enjoy my time with my kids and granddaughter. Stay strong and God Bless. Thanks ARD and Laura, you are a rockstar!!

First, I want to say that this review isn’t based on my personal experience, but a friends who isn’t comfortable sharing their name on this platform.
After months of research, he took a leap of faith and chose this center over a similar center in Florida that was double the price. Because he doesn’t have insurance, he had to come out of pocket so this obviously was the more practical option price wise, but also care wise. If you’re paying 5k+ for treatment out of pocket at a facility, you’re doing so because you want to know you’re in good hands and have a staff of people who will be with you through the process. Releasing someone after 24 hours to a hotel room with active monitoring just doesn’t seem right when you’re paying 20k+ for a treatment (the other facility doesn’t accept insurance either). Of course, rehabs want to make money- a business is a business. But that doesn’t mean everyone shouldn’t be treated with respect and quality care. The staff here, on the other hand, supported him the entire time and made sure he got the care he needed. He is 6 months sober now!
The treatment isn’t by any means “easy” but Rome wasn’t built in a day. No treatment is going to be easy to break the shackles of addiction, you have to want your sobriety and to be free. If you don’t want it, no treatment will save you from going back and using. But if you want it, then this place is a no brainer. You will feel some exhaustion, maybe even a lack of motivation but the important thing is to get up and move around. All of that will balance itself out. Take vitamins before and after your procedure, and thank God for another day! I am currently saving up to come here for my own treatment from an Oxy addiction, and will update my review from my personal experience once I have.
