I cannot say enough good things about my experience with St. Luke's Mental Health Clinic. I truly hope that my review helps others considering seeking care here. When I entered the building for my first appointment, I was guided to a private room and sat down with a very kind woman who then asked me to share my story. At the end of the hour, she looked at her clipboard and said, "I think (therapist name) is going to be a great fit for you." I was so impressed that St. Luke's took the time to match patients with a therapist who would be their best fit, instead of just sticking them in available slots or making them choose based on online bios. I have been with my therapist for many years now and I can say she is the perfect therapist for my needs, and I am so grateful for the lovely woman who matched us together. Thank you St Luke's for providing top-notch, personalized mental health care.

The staff at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota, this hospital although challenging to find where to go without a map and a guide. Has the best staff compared to the many hospitals I've been in the staff, doctors and nurses were an excellent group and I enjoyed my stay and never wanted to leave. And the food was the best I tried almost everything on the extensive choices of food and every day it was a party in my mouth! One of my nurses from the fifth floor Sawyer came and visited me when I was there again on the fourth floor and that was above and beyond anything I've ever had happen to me in a hospital. So I give your hospital 10 stars because 5 isn't enough!!! Thank you to everyone that was working both times and I'll be back to the 5th floor soon!

I was going to Essentia Health for almost a year being miss-diagnosed the entire time. I knew there was something wrong with me as this can't be "all in my head" as Essentia led me to believe. Thank you for saving my life not once, but two times. I wouldn't be alive today if I hadn't taken the chance, advocated for myself, and finally went to the St. Lukes ER. I don't understand how this place was able to help me so quickly where I spent over $100k trying to get help at Essentia in that time. Thank you! Thank you so much!

I spent 5 months here in the dead of winter. The staffing were marvelous and far ahead of any rehab center anywhere, thats my opinion. The entire staff always went above and beyond. Thanks to a Sapper for Director and Hall of Famer and great Psychologist I improved my life without measure. I should have thanked you long ago. You got the full process. Education,structure,health,Spiritualityand much more. 5 star easy. I would like to be more involved. I don't remember all your names and the staff probably rotated out. God bless you all.

My experience attending treatment at this facility is what saved my life. I was welcomed judgement free from day one and was treated with the upmost care for my entire stay. The staff only saw me for my potential instead of seeing me only for my past mistakes. I was given individualized care which challenged me to grow and take accountability for my past actions. Over my 45 day stay, I worked closely with all the staff and was provided with excellent support and education on my disease. They loved me until I was able to love my self. Thanks to the hardworking and supportive staff at Phoenix House I now have 4.5 years clean. I have been working as a Recovery Coach for the past 3 years and have just passed the exam to become a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor. The likelihood of me being where I am at today would be shockingly low, if not zero, if not for my time spent at Phoenix House.

My two year old had a bike accident and when we arrived we were notified that urgent care was closed and there were no more appts left for us to get him in. As we were waiting, one of the women at the receptionist desk overheard us and gave us info about other urgent cares in Duluth and then another gave him a bear stuffy and called a nurse assistant to come look at it to see if we needed to drive to urgent care. They even had a doctor look at it quick, then clean it, and bandage it. I was SO impressed with the kindness of everyone involved in helping us. Thank you Everyone from the bottom of my heart. You truly are all amazing people.

please rewrite this review: I can't believe I haven't written a review yet! Well, here it is...I have my life back because this place exists. Kathy Javis, the owner of this amazing place, found me at a time in life when I was on the verge of giving up. A time when I was lost and didn't know where to turn. I was hopeless, ashamed, terrified....defeated. Kathy listen to me. She heard me. Care cared about me. She stood by my side as I was mauled over by life. When I felt like giving up she was there to remind me how far I had come and she kept my mind focused on the rewards. Kathy was able to see the person I was inside and she looked passed the person who was addicted. I was with Kathy for nearly 4 years of my life. She helped me through the pain of what I now know was abuse. She helped me find my confidence back, she helped me find reasons to smile. She taught me to stand up for myself and helped me with setting boundaries, she taught me that I didn't have to live in fear. Because of Kathy, today I am happier than I ever knew was possible. There are no words to empress my gratitude to her. She saved my life and she saved my daughters' lives. She gave me the gift of a lifetime. This kind of gift is rare. If you are lucky enough to have found yourself on this website, I pray that you are able to recognize that your gift of a lifetime is right in front of you. Don't let it pass you by. The outpatient is outstanding, taking into account this isn't some big-city slaughterhouse where the doctors are threatened with Bull S* . Here, the doctors, therapists, nurses, and staff enjoy their job, and this makes a huge impact on a patient's health.// The inpatient unit gets 3-stars only on merit where this is not a big-city circus. The doctors are withdrawn into a fantasy of how to make appeals to courts and testify the best they can about all the reason's there is a problem. You're not very likely to be committed per se, but you'll most likely need to agree to conditions in order to be released from the hospital. When the first ordeal is over with, the care is much better if you're required to stay a bit longer in the hospital before they stabilize you. Also remember there has never been a 5-star inpatient unit. The U.S. is swamped with mental health needs and are short staffed to meet the demands. Good Job Aspirus.

i was there on commitment for 3 months in summer 2023 and it was great! (well, as good as it could’ve been given my circumstances). i made a lot of friends and there was a given a lot of freedom. we got free time and were allowed to leave the house. most rooms were only 1 bed, but if you were placed in a 2 bed room you could make a request to switch. we went to the lake all the time. we went to places around the city. groups weren’t that long and food was served to us every meal. there was a bedtime, but you could still be on your phone in bed. if you were in your room for a long time, they did checks every hour. they did this throughout the night as well, meaning staff was there 24/7. i would’ve rated this 5 stars, but it’s only 4 because i swear to god that house was haunted. but overall great place!!

Fresh Start is the best treatment center I've ever experienced. I love everything about it. The counselors are awesome. Had a great time there and met lots of new friends. I love the location also lots of parks and everything you need all downtown duluth. The food is awesome.

This was my second time receiving treatment at Hazelden, and I truly felt a deeper sense of connection and growth this time (quality of service improved since last time ) This time, working with my counselor “nas” made a big difference in my experience. He showed great understanding, professionalism, and sensitivity while addressing my addiction challenges. His approach was thoughtful and respectful, and I always felt safe and heard during our sessions. Really loved the mental health part and mental health professionals!! I’ve learned so much about myself, and I’m proud to say I’m now two months sober.
