Charlotte, NC | Midwood Addiction Treatment is a Joint Commission accredited rehabilitation facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, that treats drug and alcohol addiction. The facility focuses on providing scientific care that’s been proven to help with recovery. Alternative Therapeutic Approaches in Charlotte The facility offers alternative therapeutic approach | Treatments Payment Options | I can't thank Peggy Lombardo (Alumni Coordinator) enough for saving a family member's life. She befriended "Will" long before he was willing to seek help. He was never alone in life because she checked on him regularly and gently coaxed him into getting the help that he desperately needed.
Approximately 7 months after reaching out, Will made the decision to better his life by accepting Peggy's offer of help. Once his decision was made, Peggy instantly started moving mountains to get him the help he needed. She was in daily contact with his family offering her advice, supplying helpful contact information, and even talking him through his fears when they became too great and he wanted to run.
As a result of Peggy's unrelenting quest to help Will, he has received a Certificate of Completion from the Midwood Addiction Program where he received counseling, housing, a sense of community, independence, and gradually took control of his life again.
A little over a month after graduating, Will has found employment and is ready to start this new healthy chapter in his life. When asked if he ever talks to Peggy anymore, the answer is "yes! she's full of valuable resources.".
How do you thank someone who has saved the life of someone you thought was lost forever? There is no repayment plan that could ever be enough for this angel on earth. Peggy will always be our angel. She truly has an amazing gift and we are forever in her debt.

Great place! Coming into this I was a little skeptical about being treated well. The staff and therapist took their time with me, to tend to my needs as a new patient. I had some bumps along the way until I met Evie Dillard. She was so helpful to me by giving me extra resources to get ready to exit treatment. I’m talking about food, shelter and even information about great jobs. I started working, got a place to rest my and made great friend for life. Thank you so much, Evie.

Lemme tell you about the housing situation 1st.
I read the good reviews and the horrible and the bad kinda concerned me.
I can tell you the bad was not only exaggerated but most just someone salty and spreading total BS.
There are no rodents and I've never been to a house that had zero bugs not even a fly before I got here, not even my father's house. Ok so these 2 floor some with a upper smoking/ lounge deck are nice nice! 4 bedroom 3 full double sink bathrooms , two with walk-in shower , I bath / shower and a half bath by living room. It's fully stocked with any pans coffee pot anything you need.
The staff are some of the nicest ppl and you absolutely get to know them.
You are treated pretty much how you treat them. Just be kind!
Midwood center was the one I went to and the staff there are always awesome. If you need something just speak up, I've seen ppl come through and expect everyone to be mind readers.
I would list everyone I love at Harmony but I'm horrible with names but there are standouts.
Christine, Crystn (sik). Byron,Lisa, Miss Gail
( Amber always pushing DBT therapy 😬) Bobby, the tech who's name escapes me that calls everyone "Big Dog)
And Lastly but firstly Miss Peggy who is the sweetest person I've ever met and she saved my life just by getting to know me calling my phone to talk to someone else. She had my back and actually drove to Salvation Army and helped me get insurance, talked me into Salvation Army in first place and bought my broke ass two packs of smokes
She is absolutely a gift from God and deserves to be the highest paid at Harmony!
But I'm betting she would do it for free
No fear y'all this place is absolutely what you make it.

Charlotte, NC | Harmony Recovery Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, is a mental health and substance use disorder treatment facility. I used to think I didn’t need help. I thought I could do it on my own. I thought nobody understood what I was going through.
But the truth is… I needed help more than I ever realized.
Coming to Harmony Recovery Center was one of the hardest choices I’ve ever made — but it’s also one of the best.
The staff here aren’t just employees — they’re in recovery too. They’ve lived the chaos. They’ve felt the pain. They’ve fought the same fight most of us are fighting.
They’ve been in our shoes — and because of that, they don’t judge us… they *get* us.
They sit with you in the dark moments. They guide you when you feel lost. They push you when you want to give up. And they remind you every single day that recovery is possible.
They’ve been a huge part of my journey, and I don’t know where I’d be without them.
So if you’re out there struggling, using, or believing you’re too far gone — listen:
You’re not.
You CAN get clean. You CAN rebuild your life. You DESERVE a future you don’t want to escape from.
And if you don’t know where to start — start here.
Make the call. Walk through the doors. Let someone help you save your life.
It’s helping save mine. 💙

Where do I start, first let me say finding mental health help for my husband was an extreme challenge being that he doesn't have true substance abuse issues. However, when I was placed in contact with Harmony Recovery Center OMG! Ms. Evelyn Contacted me, and she had done all the leg work on her side and let me know in detail all that was needed from me to get my husband admitted. Needless to say, the transition was smoother than butter! In a matter of hours not days he was in! They stayed in contact with us through our travels. The staff was super welcoming and supportive! Honestly Ms. Evelyn has made this whole experience for me one of comfort and ease! It's never easy to leave the ones you love in the hands or care of strangers whether they are professionals or not, but Evelyn took all that away with her kindness, willingness to go above and beyond, her compassion, her empathy. All-in-all.... she is AWESOMELY AMAZING! Thank you, Ms. Evelyn, and the entire Harmony Recovery Center Staff

I am truly grateful to be housed at Harmony Recovery Center. From the moment I arrived, I have felt supported, respected, and genuinely cared for. A huge part of that positive experience is thanks to Evelyn Dillard, who is an outstanding housing director.
Evelyn goes above and beyond every single day to make sure everyone here is safe, comfortable, and heard. She treats residents with compassion and professionalism, always taking the time to listen and respond to our needs. Her dedication to helping people rebuild their lives is clear in everything she does, and her leadership makes Harmony feel less like a facility and more like a community.
Thanks to Evelyn, this experience has been not only healing, but truly life-changing. I’m grateful for her kindness, guidance, and unwavering support. Harmony Recovery Center is a great place to be, and Evelyn Dillard is a big reason why.

I was a patient here 4/20/2016 and it saved my life. I now have over 8 years clean and am living my best life. If I didn’t come here and continue treatment when I left I wouldn’t be alive. Thanks to my mom, she found this place, and a Higher Power who put me right where I needed to be. I liked it because there were medical professionals who treated me more than fair, even nice, and not overlooked or disrespected. They helped me come up with a plan that suited my needs. I was heard and felt I was safe. It was a secure place, not able to have my cell phone and had limited calling times and even harder abilities to get drugs, if I had more freedom I would have left and gotten high. Those detox days were hell, but the medicine they gave me to come off of substances helped. I opted out of MAT bc I used to abuse it. They had an enclosed smoking area too for us (which was considerate) and people from 12 step programs bringing hope. The facility played a video of a Celtics ball player who struggled with addiction and stayed clean. That video changed my life and gave me hope as I used to be an athlete. I had no insurance and they worked with my mom and I to sort out a payment plan. I payed them back once I got clean. 10/10 stars. ✨ Even more if I could. I didn’t attend outpatient treatment, although they offered a lot of services, because I went to a rehab across the state. I am so grateful I gave this place a chance to hold the fate of my life in it. I was in good hands. Thank you to the dedicated staff, your kindness, board members who help make this possible, and community volunteers. You rock Keystone! 🪨

There is no better place than keystone. If YOU want the help and YOU work for your recovery? They will work JUST as hard for you, if not harder. Kelly, Kyra, Sylvana, Jess, Kerry, Erin, Frank, Doug, David... They are all pure souls. I have felt the love, support, and empathy on the level that I did/still do at keystone. They saved my life. They save a LOT of lives. This program will go hard af for you so long as you WANT it. I'm blessed beyond measure to be 115 days clean and sober thanks to keystone. Been going there for almost a decade and it's running better than it ever has now in 2022 with Kyra Rich the Case Manager. She is by far the most amazing person I have met at keystone. I never knew I could love a "normie" so much lol. My before and after pics are gonna be below.. let that speak for itself. I love keystone more than I can put into words. They are HOME to me. Keystone is home.. ❤️
**EDIT:
I am now OVER 2 years 2 months and 12 days clean (as of 01/23/2024) and i still feel the very same (if not stronger) about keystone! I went all the way to Utah to Turning Point who is supposed to be "second in the nation" for substance abuse. And they treated me terrible.. i still to this day hold true to my opinion that keystone is THE BEST treatment facility there is out there! They are small but they are mighty. They have so much heart. I still to go to keystone for my groups and MAT to this day!! And i LOVE IT!! They have been such an essential part of my recovery and always will be! I cannot wait to start my training to become peer support and hopefully be able to give back to keystone for how much they have given me!! We do recover! 11/12/21 ❤️

Dr. Gellar is the reason I am alive. If you can't get along with him? Then YOU are definitely the problem. Seen him 25 years. I love him. He's PLATINUM in a bed of tin.
Best psych practice in Mecklenburg County.
Superlative!
Nikki, Erica, and Devon RUN the front of the house like a WELL-OILED MACHINE.
I was short with Nikki once (bc I am a lil crazy lol) and she took it in stride and accepted my apology. She has NEVER been anything but LOVELY and the other admin as well. I adore them. Erica is an angel and Devon has a gentle sweet spirit and she's always patient with me, even when I am disorganized and unclear, at times. Nikki and Erica too. Also Renita Hopkins is a pro but a doll.
I don't mean to exclude anyone.
Also, the "office" feels like a nice coffee shop...not "clinicky."
It's one floor and easy to park.
The environment outside is beautiful.
I visited 3 other clinics/practices before EPPG and I had DISMAL experiences.
EPPG was an oasis and they ALL work hard to remember that the clientele often have crises, and my overreactions or frantic manner has always been met with understanding and perceptible compassion.
I don't know how EPPG can be topped in any aspect.
My first psychiatrist committed suicide. Yeah. Dr. Gellar began treating me and he's the SOLE reason that I never took my life. He's guided me through many traumas and I am healthy and able to manage my depression bc of his devotion to excellent care.
EPPG IS A MODEL THAT SHOULD BE DUPLICATED BC THEY ARE RARE AND UNSURPASSABLE BUT THEY STRIVE FOR PERFECTION.
If you have bad things to say? YOU are most likely the problem, not anyone at EPPG.

I have been to various treatment centers and truly had such a great experience here and owe so much of my recovery to the team here. I spent several long months at Renfrew in PHP & IOP and came such a long way from where I started. I spent several long months at Renfrew in PHP & IOP and definitely come such a long way from where I started and am SO grateful for all of the staff and team here for all they have done for me. I came for orthorexia as my outpatient team recommended I step up, then started in IOP here, after a month was told I needed residential for lack of progress. I was able to negotiate a PHP trial first but that still failed and am stepping up to res elsewhere but plan to come back as I step back down! No treatment center is perfect - Renfrew can have a very one size fits all treatment model and in my experience did not find it to be super individualized, but if you verbalize that they will do their best to meet you where you re at! I had to use a lot of self advocacy for any accommodations or when asking for what I needed or explaining what was helpful for me. The staff while I was there were all truly wonderful and really did seem to care about me and want to support me as much as they could. Shoutout to Kyla, Kasha, Alex & Lindsay! I was just told my orthorexia was too severe for PHP and IOP level. But I will say in both of these levels, they do expect a high level of compliance - most of the other people in PHP had stepped down from residential, and in IOP as well the expectation would be 100% meal competition to remain in those levels or they will be quick to step you up to res. There is no kitchen so the lunch and dinners were catered - often Jason's Deli, sandwiches, pizza (Dominos or Mellow Mushroom), burgers, pasta, and they would also have "dessert days" like Oreos, ice cream, etc. Breakfasts in PHP were oatmeal, bagels, yogurt, cereal, waffles and would rotate each day. I struggled immensely with the meals - for someone with orthorexia it was like going from 0-100 and felt impossible, they did not even feel remotely safe or healthy. PHP was basically the exact same as IOP x2, more like a school day. Some of the groups can be very repetitive but others I did really enjoy. As hard as treatment was and continues to be, I truly would not have made the progress I have without the team here and plan to come back stepping down after res! I also made some wonderful everlasting friendships during my time here and became close with both groups I was apart of. The recovery community is so powerful and just have so much gratitude for my time here.

If I could give 100 stars I would do it in a second! This place helped my daughter not only survive, but thrive! We spent some tough months in intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization. Insurance companies should have a better understanding of eating disorders and the needs of those living through them. We were thankful ours gave us what we needed but many cut therapy short. I hope that changes so people truly have the time and help to heal.
The staff at The Renfrew center know their stuff and are caring, compassionate, and accessible. Families should be all in to support each other. Renfrew can’t do it all, but working together, true and lasting healing is a beautiful possibility! Thank you from my whole heart!❤️

I left CEH with a great experience and left feeling more assured than before I started. My therapist moved to a different state, which stopped my care, but I appreciated every minute of if. The first therapist I had there was completely demeaning to me and kicked me out as her client. She left me remembering the word, "You keep doing what you're doing and I promise you'll be miserable by 40." What a great way to remind you how awful you are... I'm an entrepreneur working long hours and struggling to find positivity in people to share life with. That remark and action spoke for itself but after that, the next therapist who took me under their supervision was fantastic at talking ideas and keeping me socially brave that my business grew 10x and slowly has me on the path to financial freedom. Just have to find the right person for you!

I’ve been to in-patient treatment 9 times; but ACE is in a class of its own. ACE taught me that I am responsible for my own recovery and offered the support and guidance necessary for me to learn how to heal. Through developing my understanding of mindfulness and the importance of spiritual practices, learning cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, and teaching traditional 12-step principles, ACE’s holistic approach to recovery has jumpstarted my journey to sobriety and I will be forever grateful.
