I really appreciate the workers at this hospital. They are kind, accomodating and respectful. I didn't feel condescended to, nor treated like less of a human being. I felt that the workers set a tone of respect and dignity and support on the unit. The groups were awesome and very well facilitated. I felt like they weren't just there for a paycheck, that they actually cared about doing a good job. I would definitely go back there if I ever need mental health inpatient care.

It was a safe place during my most suicidal years. I really appreciated the ability to isolate in my room, unlike other facilities that lock the rooms during the day. That was a necessity for me as an autistic person, in order to prevent overwhelm and truly feel safe. Therapy groups could be stressful, but I wasn't forced to attend which I really appreciate. When life feels so out of control, small things like that can go a long way

I came to this center after a traumatic experience. These people made me whole again. I cannot say how much this place meant to me the 4 months I was there. Caring nurses, wonderful doctors and a cook who knew how to make hospital food palatable. I cannot recommend this place more!

I LOVE this place. They have helped me twice already and everytime it’s such a pleasant experience. I have been to a lot of places & this one is special. Southeast Addiction Center has helped save my life. I'm an older recovering alcoholic. They hold you accountable here with breathalyzer and urinalysis tests five days a week. Their therapists are the best I've ever had. You have group therapy and individual counseling to ensure your mental and spiritual growth. Accommodations are very comfortable and not crowded. If you want to recover successfully, give them a call.

Where do I even start? I was a client at Twin Lakes in Oct/Nov of 2022 and I can say with my whole heart that it saved my life. Not only did they give me the tools on how to maintain sobriety, but they also showed me community and connection. Reviewing from a perspective of both personal experience as well as that of a loved one. MARR is an excellent choice for treatment, the staff all competent and qualified. There are doctors and nurses on staff/on site. Everyone works around the clock for the benefit of their residences - there is absolutely no other program that provides as complete of care as MARR does. They offer intensive care through every stage of recovery for each client. There are few other programs that provide extensive, long term, physical and emotional level care, individual and group therapy, teaches applicable life skills as well as drug and alcohol education and support. I have seen MARR do wonders for many people, from all backgrounds and situations, and leading to clients actively living productive, happy, substance free lives and contributing to the world and people around them. Horrible business. I went for mere anxiety issues & I end up getting prescribed very powerful drugs that were for severe schizophrenics or worse. I didn't know until I researched the pills - 3 different kinds - & discovered they were strong antipsychotics that gave me permanent lifelong side effects that have not gone away yet.
These people should be arrested. How are they able to get away with such things is beyond me. I asked & was then told that I have bipolar, schizophrenia & schizo affective. They do this to prescribe you very expensive drugs that the pharmaceutical companies tell them to. Very ghetto & disrespectful treatment from seemingly mostly Indian (I dare not call them doctors) psychiatrists. Sometimes Dr. Yedla would tell me to "Shut up, I don't care or want to hear about it" when I would tell her a problem I had.

There is definitely a process in order to become an established patient, but once you take care of all that this is an amazing organization staffed with individuals who show up to help people in need. My therapist is Gabby and psych is Dr. Hill, both exemplary human beings! They are down to Earth, real people who care. The front desk ladies are soooo kind and the pharmacist greets you with an understanding smile. If you need help, these human beings are here to do just that. Situations can be frustrating in life. Scheduling can be cumbersome at times if you stay busy. But the bottom line is, these people WILL HELP YOU. They saved my life.

I was not at the location but my family member was required to go for an evaluation at their facility. They will find some reason even if you are not drinking or using illegal drugs to keep you for a minimum of 6 weeks especially if you are a professional and have the financial means and could lose your job if you do not do what they recommend. Also speak to your medical coverage because they file with your insurance incorrectly and receive reimbursement that they never tell you about from the evaluation portion. They will also recommend you to stay at their inpatient facility but will bill it as intensive outpatient so you are responsible for your room and board $75 a night when you share a cabin with possibly 16 other individuals and they have about 10 cabins at least filled. No early discharging and will ask you weekly to pay them. They do not care how it affects families and puts stress on family members with young children as long as one of their beds are filled.

I will start off by saying I believe I think I am very qualified person to do a review of Hillside. I was there for over a year (and this is NOT the norm btw, so dont think you or your child will stay even a fraction that long) but it was one of the most transformative time in my life. I was placed on the Evans cottage. And let me say I have a deep respect to all of the staff there. And I can say with confidence that all of them care. Every single one. I'm writing this now after I have healed more and learned more in life, and that brings a new perspective in how I feel about the place. Most of the ex-clients who are writing reviews are still younger (and while that doesn't invalidate their experiences) it sort of distorts your mind from the facts.
And the truth is, their methods work in the long run. You may think they are being harsh (and that can be true at times) but they care deeply about every clients well-being. And let me note that: no staff will be intentionally disrespectful unless you have poked them a few too many times. (They are human too).
My therapists were Mr. Tanner & Ms. Certoya and I cannot preface enough how thankful I am for them. They are truly committed to helping their clients and helping all of them get better. All of the staff cares about these clients. I was put in a circumstance while at Hillside where I was very stuck. If my support system there didn't believe in me, I wouldn't be where I am now, lets just say that.
It's been a year and maybe some of these staff have left, but I wanted to shout them out:
- All the cafeteria staff! (Its been forever to remember names but I'll never forget yalls faces)
- Ms. Josie, Ms. Faith, Ms. Alisha, Ms. Ty, Ms. Kim, Ms. Cassandra, Ms. Grace, Mr. Logan, Mr. T.Y and all the other staff at Evans cottage during my time I truly appreciate all of you and the patience and care you had for me
- Every single rec therapist including ones for gym, art and horticulture
- Front office staff and including Dr. Carmichael & all the wonderful people part of my treatment team
- All the teachers I had there
Even if I slipped their name from my brain, Ill never forget the impact they have made in my life. I truly am grateful for all of what they have done.
This place will change you in someway mentally (not to be dramatic). It will teach you so much about yourself and that will help you so much in the long run. You can do hard things!!

I just got home yesterday after completing my treatment and I would honestly have to say that this was by far the best facility I had been to in my experience of mental health. First off, most of the staff was absolutely phenomenal! The techs really seem to love their jobs and they do very well caring for their patients during the day. The only issue I would probably say is that at times some staff members may come off as rude or even presenting an attitude….. However, I do understand that they were just doing their jobs and everybody’s experience is going to be different. The rooms were simple But that was fine because I never spent much time in it anyways. My shower had mold all over the curtain, but that issue was addressed very quickly. The food was pretty decent, and the cooks are absolutely the sweetest people! As for treatment itself, the doctors, Psychiatrist, and social workers were very helpful in allowing me to express my feelings and emotions while also caring for my concerns.
If you are looking for a treatment facility, I definitely recommend this place! As long as you are doing your best and showing that you care for your treatment, you will be out of there in no time.

We were very pleased with the services received at Riverwood. My mom Elizabeth shared that the staff, especially the ladies who helped her, were kind, helpful, and made her feel comfortable during her stay prior to admission she had been experiencing aggressive behaviors, but during her time there, her medication was successfully adjusted. We were also given helpful resources to support her next steps in care. Upon discharge, she received a referral for in-home therapy, which she has already started, as well as a temporary prescription to manage her needs until she can follow up with her primary care physician.
The therapist was excellent with communication, and I truly appreciate everyone involved in her care.
