I was referred to New Day Counseling through work and had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Tim Strickland and his wife Lorri. They were absolutely amazing with the solutions that helped me recognize and manage my everyday life better. I feel I am back to a more positive and recognizable version of myself. My decision to enroll in and complete the intensive outpatient program at New Day Counseling was one of the best decisions of my life. The group therapy sessions, the private therapy sessions, and the educational classes were of the highest quality. This program has given me not only an understanding of my struggle with alcohol use disorder but the tools to manage it and live a more successful and fulfilling life. I highly recommend this program for any and all individuals suffering from the disease of addiction.

I'm a patient at Newday counseling, and I called there seeking professional help. There, I've found people that they were willing to help me get started with my process. Professionalism is what I found, people who knew about my addiction and are willing to educate me. There, I've found a lot more than what I expected, there is a 24 hour hot line, with a the other end willing to talk with me about issues that I was having problems with, and help me understand my addiction. I go to this place four times a week, under three different counselors. That communicate well with each other to help me Even when I don't feel like listening to the professional side of addiction, I still leave there what's something. When NewDay counselors encounter a person that wants to do something with their life they dig in just as deep as I did. For that I am truly grateful.........

The Talbott program, which advertises customized care for professionals, appears to fall short of its promise. My experience with a loved one who attended the program reveals significant issues with its structure, patient care, and living conditions. Lack of Personalized Treatment Despite claiming to offer customized programs for pilots, law enforcement, and healthcare professionals, Talbott seems to operate on a "one size fits all" model. Patients with diverse backgrounds, conditions, and needs are grouped together, which can be detrimental to their overall healing process. This approach appears to either undertreat those with more complex issues or over-treat those who are there for minor infractions, creating an environment that feels more like a restrictive psych ward than a rehabilitative program. The low therapist-to-patient ratio raises serious concerns about the quality of care provided. It seems the staff is not equipped to handle the full range of disorders they accept, leading to friction, tension and safety concerns within the group. The program's decision to expand its patient base beyond its advertised professional groups has also reportedly caused disruption and a negative dynamic among participants. The program's "outpatient" status is a misnomer given its highly restrictive rules. Patients are confined to a strict schedule with limited phone access, a mandatory "buddy system," and a ban on being alone in their rooms. Family visits are severely limited, which prevents patients from maintaining a strong connection with their support system—a critical component of recovery. No other visitors are allowed during their stay. For a program that reportedly receives around $10,000 per patient for living accommodations, the conditions are inadequate. Patients are housed in local apartments and are required to have both suite mates and roommates. This lack of privacy makes it difficult for individuals to have personal conversations with family and friends and to find a quiet space to decompress from the day's events. The constant social pressure, combined with forced social events and lack of personal space, can lead to burnout rather than rehabilitation. The issues I've observed are not isolated incidents and are reflected in other public reviews. Talbott must reevaluate its processes and procedures to create an environment that truly supports recovery without imposing unnecessary stress and restrictions.

Do not come here if you have probationer/DFCS evaluations to get done. When you call to set up your walk-in appt, the staff does not tell you that your case worker/PO needs to sign a request form & they will not see you if you don’t have it signed. Made my process longer by three weeks & was stressful. This not only happened to me, but to two other people on separate days. I had to come in the first time- was told to do a walk in assessment & was faced with this issue. I have yet to see the professional I was sent here to see, so this review is based on just the initiating processes alone- which are terrible & waste people’s time. ETA: The staff themselves in the physical building are all doing their best with what they can. Obviously the state of communications is a result of lack of support from the State & local government. I really enjoyed my time with the staff I interacted with & I wish the best for those who work here.

I’ve updated review!! My son is going on 3 years sober!!! This is the place!!! My son is 34 and checked himself in 5 months ago. He made the decision to stay the full six months within the first month. I'm so proud of him and all the guys there. It's an amazing journey they go through. I know this place saved my son's life. Kindness, compassion and studying the AA 12 Steps and the way in which the program is run. It teaches responsibility, accountability and the tools to get and stay sober. Thank you God for answering prayers he led my son straight to Bridges of Hope!! Thank you Jesus It is now April 2024 and my son is still sober at 37 and in fact my nephew is getting ready to complete his 6 months and he is excited about being sober and they both know and love the Lord! God. He has answered my prayers and Bridges of Hope was the vessel. It is now July 1, 2024 my son is 37 and in August it will be 3 years Sober!! Praise Jesus and Bridges of Hope! To God be the Glory! Don’t stop praying! Thank you Bridges!!! ps at this moment we have another young man from our town who has just completed his first week!!! My nephew completed 6 months and he is now 9 months sober!!!! Thank you Bridges!!! We also have a friend from our church who completed 6 months and he is 11 months sober. I’m giving God the glory!!! Bridges not only instills a sober lifestyle! They give the men a structure and tools to live. I have another son who is sober 10 months he went to an insurance based rehab and thank you Jesus he’s still sober but I don’t see the love for God and the commitment to following the steps like I see in my other son and nephew. Again thank you Bridges of Hope!! Paying for all the moms, dads, wives, family members to be supportive!! Please God protect our men at Bridges and anyone who seeks help anywhere!!! In Jesus name, Amen My sincerest appreciation and love, Miss Pam

Best place I have ever been. I have never had a therapist that genuinely cares and respects me for who I am. Therapy feels more like a conversation than a therapy session. I tell everyone about them because 1000/10 they are the best. Well, my therapist is better than the best if I could afford to open her a practice of her own so that she could see family and friends abroad I would. I don't imagine any of the other therapists being any different. If you're looking for a therapist please consider giving them an opportunity. Nothing beats a try but a fail and you only fail if you don't try.

The person who did my counseling was professional and kind. The counseling was very helpful and I learned a lot and was able to make a lot of progress. Had an over-all good experience. My only complaints are: 1. The office needs more counselors. There are too few for the amount of students and those who desperately need frequent visits are unable to get them due to few openings. 2. There should be a way to schedule an appointment without calling. Having to call to schedule an appointment is a huge obstacle for people who struggle with anxiety and other such conditions.

I joined the Adult Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program and it was life changing. I was going through an extremely rough patch in my life; I wasn’t eating, leaving the house, or living my life. When I joined the group, I was very very nervous. I don’t do well in groups or going out of my comfort zone, but little did I know, that was exactly what I need. Stephanie made sure we knew the confidentiality rules and that group was a safe place. It was really special to see I wasn’t alone and that so many other people of all ages were going through or have gone through the same things I was and have gone through in the past. The 8 weeks I spent going through ways to help me cope with the anxieties of every day life were truly life changing. I would highly recommend taking the jump and stepping out of your comfort zone to do this program. The difference I have seen in my life 6 months after finishing the program and even during is crazy. I’ve learned to not let the anxiety win and how to cope using DBT skills that we learned. Please don’t hesitate to join group, I promise you won’t regret it. I’m so thankful for Stephanie for creating this group and giving me a safe place to “feel my feels”.

From the billing and administrative staff to the counselors, The Behavioral Wellness Group is a well organized, clinically experienced and compassionate group ! I highly recommend licensed professional counselors ,Erin Pawlak and Stephanie Jacobs ! They are kind, compassionate, attentive and skilled. The IOP programs are amazing options for adolescents and adults and one the only or few of their kind in the Bluffton, SC area. Another positive to the group is that they are in network with many different insurance companies and their billing practices are transparent and seamless unlike so many other groups in the area, they also offer other billing options such as Care Credit or billing installment plans if necessary. Phone calls and emails are answered promptly and you will never feel alone and lost here ! Their website is also well maintained and informative with detailed descriptions of programs offered and clinician photos and bio.

I want people to understand something important about the program. When you complete it and leave, the medications they use as “crutches” (like SSRIs) are not designed to be permanent solutions — but they don’t really prepare you for what happens when you try to come off them. In my case, when I finished the program, I was left with nothing but “good luck.” No tapering support, no real plan, no follow-up guidance. The withdrawal from SSRI medication was a horrific experience, and I had to seek out a separate doctor on my own afterward just to cope. People should know going in: the program does provide structure and tools while you’re there, but the aftercare is lacking, especially around medication dependence. Be ready to advocate for yourself and find outside medical support when you leave.

This place literally saved my life, my career, and my family. I was "functioning" in my opinion, but I was really blind to what was happening around me. My marriage was falling apart, my career was spiraling slowly downwards, my kids had a parent who was always drinking at home, and who might show up to a soccer game or a cheerleading contest drunk and loud and embarrassing. The truth was that I was dying in front of my kids and my spouse, my job was dying, but I thought I was living. I too came here under the "6 to 8 week" suggestion, but I knew how it goes. Admissions will usually tell someone that just to get them in. I was not naive in that fashion. Yes, some reviews say "bait and switch" or "I was told this at the beginning", but what they are not telling you is that everyone gets evaluated when they first get here, and based on cognitive tests, and how messed up you and your life are, patients either leave a little earlier, right on time, or they need a little more time (like me). I figured that I drank and used drugs for years, and that it would take more than under two months for me to even begin to get better. I learned new skills, got great therapy and education and care from the staff, and after 3 1/2 months I came back home. I work in television production, and my co-workers and bosses were so supportive and understanding. My family...took a little while before the trust and love came back, but it did eventually, and it feels good because I put in a lot of hard work. Listen, I know a lot of people come to treatment for the "band aid" to fix whatever problem is slapping them in the face. But if you really, truly want to get well, get sober, and get the kind of help you need, there is no better place than Talbott. You might have to stay a little longer than those other "spin-dry" types of rehabs that just keep recycling patients who keep relapsing, but I swear this place works miracles. I am living proof.
