This place changed my life.. I’ve been in many treatment centers before in the last few years, but the community and structure here is unlike anywhere else - the staff and recovering addicts that come in and out of here, the building and activities that we get to participate in, are all amazing and beautiful.

I went into SoundCloud broken and came out repaired. I was addicted, depressed, anxious, and self-harming, and SunCloud staff helped me improve all of that through amazing 1 on 1 counseling, 12 step and self-help groups, healthy socialization, medication, and tons of patience and quality care. Staff, with their humanistic, dedicated BHS/techs (Go Ana! Lara! Monica! Tee!), nurses (All staff exceptional!), therapists and psychiatrists (Go Kelly! Dr. Mehta!), and others, listened, coached, and educated, while showing great concern and interest in helping me become whole again. They worked hard to bring calm and mindfulness out in me and the other patients through psych, medical, substance, food, yoga, art, and queer therapies.
Yes, there are rules and schedules, but they are fair, doable, and have obvious therapeutic purpose. Nope, you can't smoke, but you do have access to phones, computers, TV (with Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, Disney +, etc.), the outside, and fitness daily. While they have some temperature issues-- bring a sweater/hoodie no matter the time of year as parts of the place get chilly, it is clean and comfortable. Their yoga instructor (Go Whitney!), chef, food staff, and food are beyond wonderful.
Outpatient/aftercare in Chicago was just as helpful and professional.
It's my eight-month sobriety anniversary and I am still improving: I am working again, and I am grateful to be alive. Much of that I owe to SunCloud staff for lifting me back up, giving me the tools I needed, and teaching me to keep heading in the right direction. Please all staff know: You are making a difference and changing lives!
If you really want help and are ready to work hard to make your life better-- something you've got to decide to do for yourself and then actually DO, I can't recommend a better team or agency to help you get there and stay there!

After a Two + years battle with a very broken mental healthcare system, we finally found the right fit for my daughter and that was enrolling her in the Suncloud program. The therapists are inclusive, offer care without judgement. The staff is always available to family members as needed. The p0rogram keeps the patients focused by introducing new topics each week. Something that is so comforting about Suncloud is, before releasing a patient from their program, they make sure the patient has their after care with new therapists set up! I HIGHLY recommend Suncloud.

SunCloud sets the standard for integrative treatment, and the standard is high, The treatment is cohesive, sophisticated and focused not just on the symptoms but also the underlying trauma beneath the surface. This approach took a while for me to understand but once I did and once I believed in it, I started to feel better, I never believed I could be free from my self destructive and very sad and anxious self until I sat in a few process groups at suncloud and began to feel the power of the treatment I was in. These guys know what they are doing. The community there is wonderful and supportive,
Dr Kim is a very very good doctor, Recovery for me is really starting to happen. It feels like a miracle and I thank the whole team at suncloud for never giving up on me.

My psychiatrist recommended Suncloud because I was going through a really tough time in my life. I was hesitant because I was at another treatment facility and didn't have a great experience. I was pleasantly surprised when I came to Suncloud because the staff were all so kind and genuinely cared about helping you. Their process groups can be tough but are so helpful in working through your trauma. It's been a year now since I started treatment and I can confidently say that I learned the skills and created an amazing support group that have helped me be in such a better place. Even after you're out of treatment, they have an awesome alumni group with plenty of opportunities to connect with others that have gone through similar things. I highly recommend Suncloud.

While being at RCA I met people who genuinely cared about me getting well. I was a little skeptical at first that what I was experiencing was real, but throughout my stay I found that these people genuinely cared. With their help I learned that the only way that I was going to stay well is by connecting with others who are serious about recovery and by participating in my own recovery. I am sober today because RCA was there for me then and is there for me now via Alumni meetings and events. I want to thank all the staff for their professionalism, genuine care and for just being there when I needed help.

This facility is just amazing! Truly felt like everyone cared about me, and I can honestly say I trusted everyone in there. Trust is very hard for me, but the adult program and the staff allowed me to be myself with no judgement. I'm trying so hard to follow the rules and not name any staff but will give a broad review. Right when you walk in the staff is friendly, always smiling which in turn made me smile. The supervisor is amazing; the head of the counselors who leads the group therapy is one of the best people I ever met. The staff that lead the groups cared about me, and it was genuine, and they are so smart and fun. From the psychiatrist to my therapist everyone was on the same page. I just want to say thank you to everyone there from the bottom of my heart!

When I first came to Care Addiction Center, I’ll be honest, I arrived pretty much kicking, screaming and non compliant. I was in a very dark place, but what I found was an organization filled with people who truly care from my counslers Alice and Tori, to my fellow Group members . From the moment I walked in, everyone was accepting, kind, and understanding.
Even when circumstances were working against me, like my insurance trying to force me to go elsewhere despite the clear progress I was making, the staff never gave up on me. Matt, who is genuinely dedicated to helping people heal, reassured me not to worry and even offered me a scholarship to continue. His only concern was that I continued to get better.
The compassion and support I experienced at Care made all the difference, and I am deeply grateful. The care addiction center is a Life changing, Life saving orginization.

This was our first time experience in this hospital. We were treated very nice by all the staff. They were very helpful. The rooms and hospital is very clean... ER doctors saved my husband's life... very, very thankful for all of them. I choose to take part of the Symetria program voluntarily and it was one of the best decisions of my life! Not only are the staff like family, so are the individuals that pick Symetria too. Now days, customer service is pathetic and people are rude and most push you out the door, but not here. This place has the warm feeling like "The door is always open", and "how can we help you", We are here for you, it doesn't matter the time or the day, we care about you. You're a shining star and a success, not a failure. This place is secure, confidential, clean and has several options to help you along your journey. You are able to volunteer your time, make new friends and can help save a life, change a life and feel proud of who you are. Brian and John from Naperville are excellent group leaders (you are lucky if you get to meet them), and (Chris from Vernon Hills is a great counselor, who will make the time to ensure your needs are met). The despair, trying to improve... Why??? I stayed in Crisis Residential for a month (I got an extended week) and I learned so much and had SUCH a great time, I HIGHLY recommend this place if you're in need of a timeout. Lots and lots of groups, very well structured, the rules are really easy to understand and follow, and the staff genuinely cares about how you're feeling during your stay as well. You get to see your psychiatrist once a week to make sure your medication is helping, and the psychiatrists they have on staff are wonderful, as well as your therapist and if you're in the substance abuse program, they're kind too, from what I've heard.
Once again, thank you Ecker, for helping me learn to manage my anxiety and various other symptoms. You've done a great job for a lot of people! 10/5 stars!

SAVING LIVES, 24/7, 365. I never expected in my wildest dreams to discover such a unique and outstanding program in an unassuming building in the suburbs of Chicago. They're genuinely innovative and there's a subtle but real magic to the place. At the end of the day, Lighthouse is a collection of extraordinary people. Most notably, Nate Lanthrum, the founder and clinical director. He's assembled the most passionate, effective and dedicated team imaginable.
For those directly effected by substance abuse including the families and loved ones, you could not be more fortunate to have Lighthouse as a resource at your disposal. In terms of quality, Lighthouse is in a category of its own. It's far better than the best of the best programs I've encountered. It may not have the luxurious offerings of a facility like "Promises" in Malibu but it certainly makes up for the lack superficial luxuries with substance, authenticity and effectiveness 1,000 fold..
Lighthouse offers something money cannot buy; people who for whatever reason care about you and your loved ones. All treatment plans are customized to each individual that walks through the door. It's a fundamentally different approach to the recovery process. It's not a static program either because Nate makes sure to stay up-to-date with the latest treatment methods and he'll incorporate something if it works.
Everyone that works at Lighthouse is of the highest quality and character. The key players off the top of my head are Nate, Dr Steve Holtsford (the "House" Addiction Medicine Expert), Marty who handles intake and paperwork, Dominic (Task Master and human whisperer) and last; the greatest psychotherapist working in the field, Rehna Becker (mother nature's improvement on Carl Jung). I do not have enough superlatives for Nate. He is the best of men. Steve is an emergency room doctor and a brilliant addiction medicine specialist. Marty has to focus on the business side of the operation to ensure the doors stay open. He's an honest guy and hard-working guy doing a thankless and unglamorous job. Dominic fulfills so many roles it's impossible to pigeonhole him but he's a walking blessing. He's much better read than most Nobel laureates, never complains, and will likely be your most consistent point of contact (he's a fixer and a closer, a gentleman and scholar). Rehna is some kind of sorceress. The things she does by intuition cannot be taught. Then there's Emily Mohls who handles psychiatric issues with an ocean of compassion while staying up to the minute with the most revolutionary treatments.
Altogether, this group is the "Seal Team 6" of recovery. As a business and as a treatment facility they exemplify the best of human virtue and character. They treat each person who walks through their doors with the dignity and respect they deserve. You could search the world over for a better team, a more "advanced" or "cutting edge" program, even a different paradigm but as someone who tried everything else, and I do mean EVERYTHING, you won't find it. I have tried several other places for MAT care for substance abuse and I have to say that Dr Steven Holtsford is hands down the absolute best. He treats you like a individual person, not a text book case of addiction. He cares, he listens and he helps you. Sobriety is possible for me! Thank you Dr Holtsford!!!

I am surprised to see so many one stars, I have been to MANY treatment centers, and this one 3 times! This is my absolute favorite. The nurses make it so comfortable and genuinely care about all the patients. The groups and who run them are all very informed on what they are talking about and they keep my attention! I love how they have NA or AA members from the outside come to chair meetings for us on the weeknights. They are all also alumnis from this program! I think that shows this place is good. Also, the food is awesome! For me, I came from jail so it was HUGE step up but I still always enjoy it. We get to chose off of a menu what we want to eat for each day. Another perk, they take you out for cigarettes through the day, AND they take everyone (that is out of detox) bowling every or every other wednesday. I have nothing bad to say about this place!

I went through detox at another facility. Researched for facility to do 28 day IOP. Was blessed that I found keys to recovery. Wonderful program, staff that understands and cares. I just reached 18 months of sobriety thanks to Keys and am actively involved in helping others. I still keep in touch with my IOP counselor from Keys as I will be forever grateful for the path she/they have laid down for me to follow. The key thing to recovery is, YOU have to want it. If you want what we have, follow the steps offered to you. I am blessed and forever grateful that I found Keys to Recovery and applied what I was taught. If you are reading this and need help, I wish you the best.

I’ve been to Compass, and it honestly helped me a lot. I’ve struggled with anxiety and depression since quarantine, and I learned some really good coping skills here. The child program’s great, and the adolescent one’s okay. There were a few things I didn’t love, but overall it was a good experience and the two months I was there really paid off.

Compass helped give me my life back! I was in program for a few months. Compass was a safe and comfortable environment to grow and learn. I highly recommend the OCD/complex anxiety program to those who may struggle with anxiety and OCD. Exposure therapy changed my life. I am so grateful for my time at Compass. My dad was brought here for continued care, and I can confidently say this is the best LTACH we’ve experienced. Most of the employees here are incredibly compassionate, attentive, and genuinely caring. The staff overall are truly GREAT!
Starting with the 3rd floor Nursing Manager, Joshua — an exceptional leader. He is understanding, a great listener, and was consistently supportive. He made a difficult time so much more bearable for our entire family. We are truly grateful for his presence and professionalism.
A big thanks also goes to the night-shift Nurse Supervisor, Chris, who was equally outstanding and always on top of things.
The nursing team deserves major recognition as well. Sylvia is top tier, and Andrea, Brigitte, Fidaa, Bosky, Jennifer, Dorian, Ritchie, Rincy, and Agaa were all excellent and deeply caring throughout.
Respiratory Tech Joby stood out for his professionalism and kindness, along with team members like Vikram, Mercy, Billy, Benzie, and Anna. Unfortunately, I have to give 4 stars instead of 5 due to one very poor experience with a tech named Sheena, which did affect our overall impression of the respiratory department.
I also want to commend the wonderful security team at the main entrance — Fedle, Bob, and Jerry were always warm and helpful. Special shoutout to Jasimine for her positive attitude.
There are many more staff members whose names I can’t recall, but they all contributed to a truly positive experience. If you’re considering this facility for a loved one, I wholeheartedly recommend it. You can bring your family member here with peace of mind knowing they’ll be well cared for.
