ACBC helps if you let it. They have excellent counselors and peer advocates. The morning breakfast is awesome too 🤪. But don't go just for the free food. If you're an addict like me who wants and needs help, go. If you're "forced" to go because of parole or probation make the best of it, you may learn something. But don't be disrespectful to the ones who actually take it seriously.

I've had I think 2 or 3 therapists there, I personally didn't feel comfortable talking to the first one but the one I have now is amazing 💗 also from what I heard, one of the teachers at the "school" my cousin went to when they were there Emotionally abused my cousin (who has autism and multiple other things.) Called him names, called out my cousin in front of the whole class to exclude and embarrassed him. From what my cousin said, the kids were very rude and got in alot of fights and the staff just sat around. Also the teacher was fired from what the staff was "aloud" to tell us

No one chooses to come to this place over another place, but here’s a review: The staff had no idea who I was when I got there. Of course, neither did I. They treated me like I was some guy off the street, and based their opinion of me on how I was acting, which, at the time, was terrible. Over time, I chilled out, and got to know some of the staff, and found at least one of them to be a decent human being. I never really got tight with any of the patients except one guy I got in a fight with and now we’re pretty good. It’s pretty much what you make of it, if you are expecting to be ‘healed’ you are probably going to be disappointed. If you are willing to look at what brought you there, if you are ready to accept some kind of responsibility for your share in it, you might find that GBHC can provide some time to try and address whatever it was that got you locked up in the first place. If you think the doctors and nurses are going to provide you with answers for life’s persistent questions, you can always keep looking. Food is alright, but could be a lot better.

I have been using family and children’s for the last 15 months. My first therapist unfortunately moved out of the area so I was put on a wait list. She was absolutely amazing and so helpful, and got me through the abusive relationship I was in. Fast forward to the beginning of September I received a phone call saying how there was someone available for me to see again. Perfect timing because me and my ex had broken up a week before hand and I was in a bad mental state. I then started seeing Bailey. She’s an intern but she has a very successful career ahead of her. She helped me through the beginning stages of my terrible breakup while validating my feelings, coaching me through the struggles of the breakup, and much more. She was absolutely wonderful. I was put on Lexapri through Holli and for the last month I’ve been on it, it has helped tremendously. I feel like an entirely new person. Hopeful, Excited to see what the future holds, and all around genuinely happy. Thank you ❤️

The best choice I ever made was coming to avenues! From the staff to the community, this is an amazing place. This was my 2nd time in treatment and I cant recommend it enough. I had Cassie as my counselor and she supported me and pushed me to the limit and I wouldn't have been able to do this again without her. I had never been to treatment for my drinking before, and I was terrified. When I called Little Creek Lodge, I was in bad shape — one of the worst days of my drinking. From that first call, everything changed. Within 30 minutes my insurance was verified and I was on my way to detox. After detox, an employee from LCL came to pick me up, and the moment I arrived I felt a sense of relief. LCL follows a 12-step recovery process. I’m not religious — I used to call myself an atheist, and now I’d say I’m agnostic — so the idea of going to an AA meeting was scary. But what I found was nothing like what I imagined. AA at LCL is all about acceptance, community, and helping each other. There’s no judgment, only support. The facility itself is beautiful — cozy, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. The beds are comfortable, and there are more than enough bathrooms to make everyone feel at home. The environment is peaceful, which made it easier to focus fully on recovery. The food deserves its own mention. They have an actual chef (love you, Bob!) who trained at the Culinary Institute of America. Every meal was absolutely delicious — far beyond what I ever expected from treatment food. The staff is what truly sets Little Creek apart. Every single person genuinely cares about the residents. My counselor, Steve, was tough on me — exactly the way I asked him to be — and he pushed me to face things I had avoided for years. It wasn’t easy, but it was exactly what I needed. I also want to give a huge shout out to Goose (yes, that’s his name!), Mason, Dane, Allen, Meg, Dongo, and so many others. The nurses were incredible as well — always attentive, compassionate, and supportive. Another surprise was the activities. I’ve never been a “nature” person, but somehow I loved every second of it. We did yoga, horseback riding, archery, hikes, go-karts, kayaking, and more. It made recovery not just about the difficult work, but also about rediscovering joy and trying new things. The lodge is small, which I think is one of its strengths. It maxes out at 17 guys, and during my month there we averaged around 10. That intimacy made it easier to build strong connections with both the staff and other residents. As a gay man, I was also nervous at first, but I never once felt out of place. Even though I was probably the only gay person there, I felt welcomed and supported by everyone. They still call me 5 months later to check in on me. Proud to say I’m now 160 days sober today. I am beyond grateful for my time at Little Creek Lodge. They gave me the tools, encouragement, and community I needed when I couldn’t find it anywhere else. If you or someone you love is struggling, this is the place to go.

Where do I begin? Not only was this my first-ever rehabilitation experience, but it was also the most eye-opening experience I have ever had. I was uncertain about what to expect and, ultimately, I made the best decision possible. The staff, whom I refer to as specialists, made me feel immediately at home, and my counselor, Mike, went above and beyond in his duties. The facility offers numerous perks, including exceptional cuisine, impeccable grounds, and a spectacular overall atmosphere. I must note that the nurses are exceedingly polite and attentive to their patients' needs, although I did find it somewhat disappointing that doctor visits were limited to only once. Personally, I did not experience any significant issues during my stay, aside from one supervisor who, I discovered, was not particularly friendly to either patients or staff. One of the highlights of the facility is the presence of Monarch butterflies, which are hatched on-site. Deb, one of the specialists, consistently displayed a warm and welcoming smile that brightened everyone's day. Marworth offers a wide range of activities to keep patients engaged, as well as tailored treatment plans for individuals requiring additional support. I commend the facility on its outstanding work.

I went to Marworth for the first time after relapsing after about 5 years sober. When I went there I was a wildly unpleasant person to be around. I hated the world and myself. I was truly terrible to most of the staff. My behavior was argumentative, smug and mean at best. They still welcomed me back 3 more times. I was eventually given Amy as my primary counselor and, she not only took the time to try and understand why I was like that but, she also challenged me to be better. Over my time there I had the chance to get to know the staff very well. They're good people. Who genuinely want to help people get to the life they're meant to have. The specialists, rec team, cafeteria workers, house keeping, security(the list goes on and on)are wonderful. That's what makes Marworth great. It's not the amenities. It's not the rock climbing wall, gym, cafeteria, or anything else you can think of. It's the people that make this place what it is. Is it perfect? Absolutely not, but nothing is. When I went in there looking for all the things that bothered me, I got nothing out of it. When I allowed them to help me, I got everything out of it.

Serenity mountain changed my life! Between the caring house staff, knowledgeable clinical team and great activities, this is a great place to grow, learn and recover. While I was there, I was able to learn so much, about myself, my disease, and God. We had opportunities to go to off campus activities including drum aerobics, enerchi, yoga, church and even special things like concerts, ice cream runs, local NA/AA meetings and women’s retreats! The councilors genuinely care and want the best for each and every one of the girls on the mountain, and the house staff does everything they can to keep us safe, healthy, and happy throughout our time there. Sandy and Joe genuinely do their best to help each individual woman and truly care about recovery. The food is much better than most rehabs, and the rooms are large, clean and very comfortable. There is even two house dogs, Chloe and poppi, who make adjusting to the mountain much easier and provide great emotional support when needed! Overall, I highly recommend serenity mountain if addiction is something you struggle with, the road to recovery isn’t always easy, but the mountain is a great stopping point along the journey!

Located in Barryville, New York, you’ll find the charming New Hope Manor. They are a substance stabilization and drug rehab center for women living in the area who are suffering from substance misuse disorders. This is primarily a residential center, although they do offer medically supervised withdrawal services for mild to moderate symptoms. T
I completed here in 7 months and that’s probably the earliest completion time that is given, they say 6-9 months but it will take 30 days to discharge you after you’ve been approved. I’m just going to say one thing that may be viewed as negative but it’s really just about your mindset. This facility really doesn’t like to just let you go, even if you’ve spent a full 6-9 months and did the work, stayed out of trouble. I personally see this as them being cautious about keeping us safe rather than a financial thing which everyone will always argue. The staff members who are not working directly on our treatment, like the “techs” which are just called clinical support, they are very well liked. It seems that because they are around us far more than the counselors, they understand us better and you can just know that they care about us a lot because seeing us day in and day out for almost a year, they get to know you, trust is developed. Holidays here are the most extraordinary celebrations any rehab has put together. Not just the winter holidays, every single holiday is celebrated. There were constant events going on, this really created a bonding in the community. Groups are individually chosen, there are many different groups going at the same time and the group changed go by semesters which are ever three months, you sit and pick which groups you would like to be in. I really enjoyed this and some of the groups were fantastic. They throw in things like philosophy, self defense, etc. as if we are taking a college class so it’s not all about addiction treatment. No cell phone and limited phone calls. No cigarettes. You only leave to go to doctor appointments. If you are someone who has tried and failed, tried and failed and need help. PLEASE GIVE NEW HOPE MANOR A SHOT. I will always say that my stay here was the most significant part of my life in the 32 years I’ve been alive. I’m all about self discovery, it’s my purpose in life and NHM gave me so much self discovery. I want to personally thank Matt, who’s genuine care about each of us was made very apparent by always being available to talk and how much he loved to make us laugh. I honestly couldn’t wait to spend my free time after lunch just chatting in the computer room, i know everyone felt that way which is why everyone was always there. Matt takes his job seriously like really seriously and when he took a vacation, the whole place malfunctioned for a couple days but most of all, we couldnt wait til he came back. This is all genuinely true and that just speaks for itself how much of an impact Matt has made on the women.

I just finished 7 months at New Hope Manor and I’m so happy! I am a new person, no longer committing murder to myself via alcohol, opioids and cigarettes. The Angelic guidance of my counselor Amanda who always had the utmost patience and care for me has helped set me free of the self destructive, depressing life I had before I was blessed enough to find New Hope. Amanda gently guided me into having a life I never thought I could achieve. Also Anand, my therapist, helped me so much it’s unreal. He had a way of showing me how to show myself why I self sabotaged and how to fix me. He is an amazing man so gentle , soulful, intuitive, positive and encouraging. Both he and Amanda showed me how and why to forgive myself and how to stop living in shame. I never felt so cared for and understood by anybody like I did from the whole gifted staff at New Hope. Not just for me but for all the other clients living there as well. It amazed me to witness the patience and understanding which was shown even to the most difficult client. The groups (classes) were so well thought out to help bring about a transformation worthy of the hard work they asked. I loved learning all about life, and addiction (it’s never to late) and why and how a sober and peaceful life was mine if I wanted it badly enough. I could never ever thank the amazing staff at New Hope for my New life. Everyone on the staff; whether they were personally assigned to me or not was always there for us which meant so much to me which I’m sure they didn’t realize how much it meant. Even Joe who ran the kitchen showed so much love preparing our meals. The 3 meals a day plus snacks was above and beyond what you’d expect. Just saying, delicious! Joe is an amazing man. I am so grateful for getting to know him and learn why he understood all of us and why he cared so much. I can go on and on with praise for New Hope. I’m not saying they are perfect. Who is? However I can say they do listen to the women there. I figured out early on that when I didn’t agree with their methods there was a good reason for those methods. I know God bought me to New Hope. I was never in rehab before and had no idea what to expect. I did know I couldn’t go on self murdering myself the way I was. I do know I never expected to heal the way I did. I also know I will continue to work on my sobriety outside NH and I know they are with me for the rest of my life. ❤️

I was at New Hope Manor in 2009 and if you had asked me back then I probably would have sounded like some of these reviews, lol. The truth is those mean nuns dedicated their entire life to helping us get sober, and helping us keep our kids and I am eternally grateful for the lessons I learned there. I’m still in touch with some of my new hope sisters and we all agree we would go back in a heart beat. Back then I felt cheated at the holidays, now I realize they taught us what the holidays were really about, I could go on and on. Great program, life saving, for real!

This facility specifically has meant so much to me, my family, and my sobriety thus far. There is so much power in a place where sobriety can be found not only amongst the clients, but also the staff. Whether it's your first, or your 21st rehab, this is a place where you can find the knowledge and support to succeed. Of course, having amazing meals, clinical support, and in-depth groups only makes the experience that much better. I felt safe to open up and know my struggles would be met with intentionality and care. If you are debating which rehab is for you, I highly recommend starting here. Even living 4.5hrs away didn't stop Clearbrook from driving to get me and sharing their expertise and care. Take the step and see how these amazing people can change your life. You won't regret it.

Anyone that gave dats anything less than 5 stats did not take their recovery seriously and blames dats for their mistakes. I've been attending for three years and i can't put into words how they've helped me. Both of my counselors I've had sine may 2020 "Lauren and especially sherry connelly" have done so much for me and I wouldn't be 3 years sober without them.

I came to TPALS 5 years ago as a broken human being with nothing left inside and nothing left to give. I was very defiant in the beginning of the treatment process because of my experiences in the past and was never comfortable enough to open up to anybody ever. I graduated within that 5 years but I just did the program to get everyone off my back I didn’t take in any of the suggestions given or was not willing to take a deeper look into my life so I got my certificate and left. Only to come back 2 years later still broken but this time no substance brought me back. Within coming back I’ve had a few lapses but I was SO COMFORTABLE to come back into this place and admit to that and I’ve built such solid worthy relationships here. This place gave me my life back. Gave my children their mother back and my family has their daughter back. If it was not for this place I would be dead. I love tpals because they meet you where you are at and work with you to understand the true ins and outs of this disease. I never thought I would be free from the chains of hell with drugs and alcohol and this place helped me free myself. I graduated again but I still come here everyday this place is my home and my safe place. Even if there isn’t any staff I sit in the parking lot if I need to regroup mentally. Thank you to each and every one of the staff and counselors ! Yall are the real super heroes because super heroes don’t always need to wear capes.

I’ve been going to TPALS for years and they have been like a family to me. They have seen my best and worst—treating me with respect and kindness through it all. My individual therapy with Katie is productive and thought-provoking. She is truly a wonderful accent to TPALS. The group therapy sessions are some of the best I’ve attended with strong participation from everyone. I highly recommend TPALS and their amazing team.
