Been to quite a few hospitals (wife’s a nurse, children have medical issues). although a trip to the ED is never fun and surgery is always stressful, Phelps Northwell staff, nurses, and environment is probably the best I’ve ever encountered. For ED, we received a bed quickly, had regular visits from nurses checking up on us and giving us updates, and the procedure was handled efficiently with no issue. For scheduled surgery, we received multiple calls from NPs and nurses, not only for pre-check questions, but to explain costs, planning, day of procedures, and post-op expectations. All while also leading me feeling open to asking questions and not feeling pressured to do anything. Highly recommend.

I had an outstanding experience at the Endoscopy Unit. Dr. Peter Stein, the anesthesiologists, nurses, and staff were professional, kind, and made me feel completely at ease. The unit isn’t listed separately, so I’m leaving this here on the hospital’s main page—I wouldn’t go anywhere else for this type of procedure.

I would like to share some thoughts about Mountainside and especially our sons recovery coach Christina.
Following his completion of a 28 day in-patient program with another provider he enrolled at Mountainside Chappaqua. He is in their Outside Patient and Recovery Coaching programs. Our son and Christina have been working together for about five months. They talk daily and meet weekly. A few weeks into the program Christina began doing weekly calls with my wife and me.
Our son works with various therapists, clinicians and other staff at Mountainside. He is complimentary of the entire organization and their contribution in helping him understand his addiction and providing recovery support. My wife and I only work with Christina.
Christina is EXCELLENT. She balances professional counseling, insight, accountability, great communication skills and timely follow-up. Having walked this life herself she is highly skilled and relatable but it’s never about her. Christina cares. She has built valued trust with all of is. My wife’s and my weekly calls provide an update on his progress and any open issues. She reminds us that he is accountable for his own recovery and keeps us in our lane. Most important she has helped keep our sons recovery moving positively forward day after day.

I was so lost and giving up on life and a few good suggestions brought me here. Everyone from the friar in charge of the inn to security and maintenance made me feel welcome. The counselors are the best I’ve ever dealt with. My counselor was amazing, the physco therapist helped me realize things on my own and a former resident who is now staff related to my issues making me comfortable with the process. This place completely saved my life, it taught me a new way to live and that I am a man, worthy of love and respect. Since there, in 2017, I had one slip up about a year after I graduated, but that was almost 8 years ago now. Since then, I went to welding school, they set me up in a halfway house in NYC, moved back home to Rochester, NY. I have worked in the welding industry and slowly worked my way to where now I run a million dollar welding training program and I try pass along the same message I learned there. I was mandated by a judge to go there for 3 months. I spent 7 1/2 months there and it was the best thing to happen to me. I am clean and sober since 12/3/23 . I am indebted to all the staff and fellow Brothers Christopher for the sobriety I now enjoy. I haven't had this much sober time since 1986.

Wanted to take a moment to dote on counselor Richelle Atkins. She has been instrumental in helping me change my life and work through my addiction. When you find someone like Richelle who is not just passionate about her job but truly cares for the people and community - that kind of dedication to the cause helps me to feel not so alone. I am a disabled veteran and have been seen at the Goshen VA Clinic regularly since 2016. The care there has always been excellent. It is a small clinic, so you have to adapt to their resources, like, that the lab work is only done in the mornings, and the My Healthy Vet self-service kiosk doesn't work, but the reception staff have always been very good.

This is a great outpatient program. I saw some of the negative comments and I totally disagree. The counselors are awesome. They are not judgemental. They call clients on their BS!! Of course there are clients who are mandated. That's every rehab. But there are also people who are there because they need help and want to be there. I loved the counselors because they were very in tune to the disease of addiction. Someone mentioned the "older white male" counselor. He was one of my favorites. They are very compassionate. They also run their groups efficiently. I've been to some outpatient programs where the counselors can't control the groups and by the time the group is over...I forgot what the actual group topic was. I would definitely recommend this treatment program to anyone who really wants help with their addiction.

My son was sent here from Four Winds Katonah! My son was at Four Winds for several weeks. I couldn't have visits because they said they couldn't regulate him. Since he has been at Rockland he was only been restrained once! Since then staff have told me he regulates himself! Have had a couple of visits and phone calls daily! I recently had an appointment in Hematology Oncology, and I cannot say enough good things about the experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and very professional. I gotta say … I went to Arm Acres in early 2000 I was 17 going to 18 years old …. I’m so thankful for them they help me I wish I can see the stuff in my time again and tell them thank you .. Also I was inpatient for 90 day .. I been hospitalized for 3 day's on the 3rd floor everyone here goes above an beyond to make you feel comfortable I mean everyone from the nurses janitorial personal the doctors are straight to the point crystal clear about what needs to be done and what they think needs to be done not that I want to be hospitalized again but I wouldn't mind coming back here extremely happy with all the staff I have met

I started IOP at NewLife back in January & just recently graduated this month. The positive impact it had & made on me .. I honestly don’t think I could’ve done it without my counselor Sam & the owner Bert! From the rip they made me feel super comfortable & not judged. As soon as you walk in they’re nothing but super helpful & supportive. It’s an awesome/wonderful environment & very welcoming with skilled staff. When I started I recently just had given birth & I was super nervous thinking it would be impossible to make it to groups 3 times a week but they gave me the option of doing it through ZOOM which not many places do, right there that was like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. My counselor Sam created a truly supportive and safe place that helped me focus on my recovery and help make positive changes for me in my life. Highly recommend!!!

I had the best experience here. my counselor Samantha truly cares so much for her patients and was always available whenever I needed to talk to her. and these are not just words, she truly truly cares for each and everyone of her patients. The group meetings were extremely helpful. No session was ever the same. This place truly turned my life around and I highly recommend anyone looking to check this place out.
